  • Electronic devices such as a personal DVD or cell in a sauna?

It gets a little boring in the sauna so I thought it would be a great time to practice learning a new language. Will a 130 degree dry heat (infrared) sauna for 30 minutes a day damage electronic devices ??

  • If a person suffers from a 'split personality'....?

According to 'Descartes'...The mind and body are two separate parts.

The mind (spirit) has no spatial dimensions and is indivisible.

The body has dimensions and is divisible.

So, If a person suffers from a "split personality"...would that person have "one mind that is split in to pieces" or "does the body possess more than one mind" ??

    Just for thought!

  • 2 yr old cries horribly and doesnt want to "go to daddys house"?

We live in the state of Oklahoma. My daughter never married her ex bf and they have a 2 and 1/2 yr old daughter together. The father gets regular visitation (2 days) every 2 weeks, but out of the past 10 visits she has cried 8 times when we dropped her off. At several of the times she literally was grabbing our clothes and screaming because she didnt want to go to her daddys.

Tonight, she literally made me feel ill to my stomach..heres why:

My parents, myself, my daughter and my 2 yr old grand daughter were sitting at the dinner table eating. my grand daughter was "hamming it up" grabbing hands full of corn, and just gobbling them down..playing around, when my other daughter let it slip that tomorrow she would be "going to her daddys house". My grand daughter immediately looked at her mom and started wimpering "No go daddys house, mommie, no go daddys house." My daughter not wanting to lie to her said, "No baby, you gotta go to daddys house tomorrow." My grand daughter then turned to me and put her head on my shoulder (she was standing up in a regular chair) and said " No mom-mom (her name for me) I stay home, I stay with you."

I literally felt sick to my stomach and almost started crying right then and there.

Needless to say, she didnt want to eat any more of her food after that...neither did the rest of us really.

The thing is, we really dont suspect any abusive behavior on her fathers part, and my daughter is thinking that the baby is just more used to being around us...but it is such a gut wrenching feeling to see her be so upset (and fight for her life as it seems) when we drop her off....I dont really think its in her best interest to be put into that emotional stress.

Can any one give me advice on what we should do about the situation ??

BTW: We tried talking to the father about it, and he basically says "Well I have a right to see her too" (which is true)

And we also asked child services in our area (over the phone) about it, whether we should be concerned, and of course the lady on the phone said it was a horrible situation and no child especially that young should have to go thru that...but of course thats just someones "personal opinion" and not "legal" if you will.

Please ... any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

  • Would like to get your opinion..on my poem, please ?!?!?

Hi, I am trying to come up with several sort of whimsical children's poems...would you please give me your opinions on the following ?

    thanx!

    Jumping, Jumping,

    Jumping, Jumping,

    Jumping, Jumping,

    Jump

    Off my bed,

    I hit the floor,

    And settle with a thump.

    My mommy scolds me.

    "That's not good.

That way, you should not play."

    But listen so,

    I do not though,

    Much to her dismay.

    Jumping, Jumping,

    Jumping, Jumping,

    Jumping, Jumping,

    Jump

    Off my bed,

    I hit the floor,

This time, my head, I bump.

My mommy takes me in her arms

    And turns me over so.

On my bottom, she does give a swat,

    My tears begin to flow.

    But listen so,

    This time, I know,

    Still stinging on my rump.

No longer on my bed, I play

    When I prefer to jump.

  • News report states DONT pay off the collections on your credit report...any info?

I just recently saw a short program on a morning news show (cant remember which) and the expert stated, that its best NOT to pay off the bills that are already on your credit report IF...they are close to being at the 7-10 yr fall-off date....meaning...after the 7-10 yr date, these collections will AUTOMATICALLY fall off your credit report and could raise your score....however she stated, that by PAYING OFF or even making a partial payment is like re-opening the bill, and therefore restarts the 7-10 yr countdown for the item to fall off your report (tho it should show that it was paid off, if thats the case)

Anyone more familiar with credit reports/collection history that might be able to give me more accurate or detailed info ?

    Thanx!!
