I love life and try to learn from every experience. I am interested in subjects dealing with the metaphysical, sprititual, philosophical, psychological and religious but I also love working with latest technology and gadgets. To sum it up, I am interested in a wide ranging of topics because there is something to learn from everything.

  • Can anyone tell me the title and author of this book?

I read this novel about a man (a Psychologist or Psychiatrist or something like that) whose identity is stolen by a guy who wants revenge. The villain wants the psychiatrist to kill himself or something and the protagonist is cornered. He acts like he is dead and creates a new identity for himself, he learns how to use computers etc. and then tracks down the guy who stole his identity and takes revenge. I don't remember the exact story, the title or the author but this is the general idea. Also This story came as a part of 2 in 1 or 3 in 1 novel and one of the other novel included was Safe Harbor by Luanne Rice. So if anyone knows the title and author of this book, I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you.

  • Copyright information about using free images on my blog?

So I have a blog where I write poems and song interpretations etc, I want to attract more audience by making it look more appealing. I have got suggestions to include pictures relevant to the content. The problem is that I am not a photographer and I'd like to use some pics off the internet without violating copyright. If images have a "non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Images" as their permission, does that mean I can use the image in my blog without any problem?

  • What exactly does being transsexual mean? What is the difference between bisexual and transsexual?

I have friends who are homosexual, I have even heard of occasional bisexual people but I have no idea what it means to be transsexual. Other than gay, lesbian, bisexual what are orientations are there if any? Also why do cross dressers embrace cross-dressing?

In case you are wondering I do not mind people choosing other sexual orientations. I am just curious because I don't much about them.

  • Can you give feedback on this poem? And if possible on other poems linked.?

    SUNRISE

I am standing in the scorching heat

While sand dunes slowly rise to greet.

And with my heart beat, my travel guide,

I follow the path into the stretch.

A nomad greets me on the way,

I think he tells me not to stray.

His words fall from a foreign tongue,

I simply smile and walk astray.

The sun rays slowly start to fade.

The sky turns grey as twilight creeps.

    Nagging doubts and terror seep,

But though quite faint, my heart it beats.

It guides me through the path unlit.

And alerts me, tells me when to wait.

When all else fails it makes sure to point

    that on the morrow lies

    One more sunrise

p.s. I write a lot of poetry but only recently started putting up poetry on a blog so any suggestions on how to improve my skills would be great.

If you like this you can check out the other poems on tescopolitan.blogspot.in

Any suggestions on the other poems are also helpful.

  • How is this poem? How does it make you feel? Constructive criticism?

    I’m surrounded by clutter,

    The hustle and bustle of a crowded life;

My gadgets once my golden oyster,

Seem only like cheap imitations of iron pyrite.

Frivolous friendships with the whole wide world,

Like iron fetters, leave me tied to a herd of sheep.

And as I lie cornered in this web of gab,

Night creeps upon me, intending to stab,

And I start to fall asleep.

    This turmoil leads to shudders

    A rustle within the strife

The glitter settles as I fidget

    And a foreboding thought festers,

Is there an end to this plight?

  • US Citizen but doing Bachelors in Technology in India, What should my next move be?

I am an American citizen pursuing B.Tech in India with specialization in Electronics and Communications. I would really like to go back to America after finishing my B.Tech and would like to find a good job back home, but since I am a foreign degree holder I need to show some work experience or internships. The thing is the grading system here is really strict so I have a percentage of 69+ but not exactly 70 which falls under "first class." I haven't really had any summer so I couldn't do any summer jobs or internships. This is the first time I will actually have summer vacation after starting college here and I would like to go to US for an internship. Is my percentage a setback? What should my resume contain and how do I overcome the "no experience" factor.

My academic courses are all really focused, there aren't that many General Studies courses. I am a part of a service club in my university and have attending some technical workshops etc but that probably isn't much compared to other people trying out for the same internships. What should I do to gain experience in my chosen field? And I definitely don't want to work in India after college, because I want to do my MBA in America and to get into a good college I need work experience, and to get a good job in America, with my foreign degree I need to show some experience. So I am back to square one. What should I do to ensure that I fulfill my goals.

Is there any significance to having your middle name add up to 22 and having your whole name add up to 11/2? What would these combinations mean for the person?

  • yet another poem submitted for feeback?

    One, two, three and four

    I'm counting on my fingertips.

    Pathetic...

    Like sipping from cheap Nirvana,

    Like all things fake,

All that glitters is so not gold.

If I may be a bit bold,

    I'll tell you

    You are just holding

Onto nothing that you think is something.

    It is Pathetic.

And yet, I'll refuse to show pity,

    I'm not sympathetic

When it is your fault that

You care more about the salt

Instead of the dish as a whole.

    You have sold your soul

    To the ghoul

    That is pathetic

    The Neon lights are blinking

And in the darkness they are winking

And I feel like I'm sinking

    Sinking, sinking...

And it is a walk of desperation

    of a certain exasperation

    Drinking away...

    in the hopes of liberation.

A concatanation of regret and euphoria,

    This bittersweet sensation

that's dying precious second by second

    And the end beckons

    seemingly within seconds

    much longer than eternity.

And then the insomniac goes a floating

    Asking "Where am I?"

    "Here I am"

    Damn!

    The fury of the furies,

    My muses without sorries,

    I beg thee

    To release me from

    thy clutches,

    this prison so wonderful

    yet...

    A prison nonetheless.

To assume that a simple sample

    Of the very being

    Ought to be ample enough

    For the singer who sings

for the feeling, is a punishment

    undeserving

and yet it is a blessing nonetheless.

    There's no ending in sight

I'm only defending what's already there

and fending for something to find

    A release...

I beg you...give me the keys

    none the less.

    Trying to stop this disease,

    Begging my thoughts to cease,

Hoping for the freedom to breathe,

To stop this moment from flowing with the breeze...

And yet I fail to grasp

the fact that the more I hold on

the more I loose, the faster it is gone

    Letting go right now

Is the hardest thing to do...

    My greatest regret, yet

    If I bow now

There's a tiny shadow of a glimmer of hope

    that somewhere something

will continue to give me this flow of

    inspiration...

an escape from this vacation to hell

    Do I hear the bells?

    Is it time to cease?

    There's this chill I feel

Something that's freezing me to the core...

    Good Bye now...

    A raging inferno beckons

And I grapple around in the dark,

    To find my glasses

    Before I lose the spark.

    The red, burning fire

Rises within me like a demon

    To the summons

    Of something higher and dire.

    But I reckon

With all things, As things go...

    The fuel has been burned;

    And once again

I'm grappling for the words on the

    tip of my tongue.

    Singers have sung

    of this before.

But I'm lost in front of a door

With no keyhole and no knob

Trying to relieve the sting, this pain

of being at a loss of the feeling

that was just here for a moment too late.

  • I come off as an airhead and I hate it...what should I do?

Ok, there are times when I have ideas running through my head about topics that I just need to get out (like this deep urge) but when I start speaking it comes off totally wrong, and there are other times when I talk and its dead pan. I am interested in just about everything and sometimes I am really random...like I will start speaking gibberish about the great qualities of grass and stuff (usually when I am tired). I am not stupid, I mean I can hold my own in a debate floor when I know the topic and feel passionate about it but that's it I don't know when I am passionate about something and I don't think sometimes and come off as an airhead, I feel like one and I hate it...what should I do.

When I am travelling and talking with strangers in airports, bus stops and places I can be so articulate and can engage people in stimulating discussions and at other times I act like a nutcase...usually at school when I am not supposed to be that way..why the hell does that happen? Is that even normal?

When the day before a disaster

    Quakes in emotions, literal too

When waiting slowly for the shock after

And none comes to meet the way

The anxiety, the relief, the uplift of spirits

The sudden rainfall down the trees

    Drizzling down the face

    Utter chaos in the heart

To combine the highs and lows of every

    Every memory too

And final exhaustion of a sigh

Look out from behind the blinds

See the birds fly away, Feel the leaves sway

Back and forth, Back and forth

Look inside towards the screen, the books within

    The bed, the net

    And the heart

The memories of the past, the hope for the future

    The emotions of the moment

Wipe them off and begin again
