I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me how I would be able to find a person whom I lost in contact with 4-5yrs ago. I know the first and last name of the person as well as last residency. But I have no clue if the person has moved out of the state or anything. I tried to myspace, facebooks and simply googled it and I have got nothing. Any help would be helpful. Thank you for your time in advance.

Let’s say, you have two clines who is very upset because the IRS has refused to abate interest charges assessed for a disallowed charitable contribution on their 1992 tax return. The tax payers and IRS agree on the disallowance of the dedication, because the recipient of the donation wasn’t qualified charitable organization.

The IRS initially issued a notice in 1995 informing the taxpayers their deduction was disallowed. The notice, however, was retuned to the IRS because it was sent to the address that was used on the 1992 tax return, rather than their current address. The IRS apparently learned the taxpayers’ new address in 1998 when they sent the assessment to the taxpayer’s new address. Shortly after receiving the notice the taxpayer signed an agreement stating that they agreed the deduction claimed was invalid.

The next correspondence the taxpayers receive from IRS was in 2003, containing the assessment for additional tax plus interest from April 15, 1993. The taxpayers said a representative from IRS apologized for sending the notice so late. They said it has been misplaced by agency since 1997.

You clients say they should not be assessed any interest for the assessment because

1) The IRS should have known the taxpayer’s new address, since it was used on the taxpayer’s 1993 and 1994 tax return.

2) It was the IRS’s fault that the assessment was further delayed from 1998 until 2003.

How would you resolve this issue as a tax expert/CPA?? I would greatly appreciate it if you would give me a similar case IRS has dealt with.

I purchased a pdf manual on Google/ebay about two weeks ago. Just few days ago, the person who sold it to me emailed me stating that he been contacted by the company’s copyright lawyer and been requested to provide with list of people who were involve in the transaction. I never questioned the seller where he got it from. So does this mean I will be sued as well although I did’t any intention of violating the copyright law?

I see so many students on campus purchasing text books that are international editions and I don't seen them getting sued.

This is really serious and I would like to hear opinions from those who are familiar with copyright law. Thank you!

Correct me if I am mistaking—is not a part of VP duty to speak for the president during his/her absence? Why do McCain and Obama need to suspend their campaign to go to Washington when they both have veeps who can continue campaigning only for the next few days until McCain recovers from his ¾- age crisis.

There are 98 other Senators to deal with the financial crisis and all of Congress, and the president.

There are only two major-party candidates for president. And the election is less than two months away. President Bush should be meeting with his cabinet, financial advisers, and economic experts to deal with this problem. Obama and McCain should stick to the business of debating and running for the office. We're paying Bush to lead. Why are we being asked to postpone DEMOCRACY?

They should all (Bush, Obama, McCain) meet in Washington then head to Mississippi for the debates; it's called multitasking - A PRESIDENT must be able to multitask! The debit shouldn’t even take more than 2hr and half.

Why does McCain need to postpone the first debate on Friday? The debate is clear about foreign policy and for the past several months he asserted himself as a foreign policy expert and what not. Obama on the other has been portrayed as someone who has zero foreign policy experience on day one by Republicans. So my question is why does this debate have to be postponed since it doesn’t have direct correlation with the economic debate? Shouldn't it be a piece of cake for McCain since he "knows it all"? Besides his campaign has made it clear McCain been preparing for the debate for the past couple of weeks. Please do NOT say he’s is prioritizing real issues, because we all know that it’s some bull! I happen to think (and most I’m sure would agree with me) that it’s very important for him to be in Mississippi on Friday night. The debate is supposed to take place on Friday at 9pm and going to Washington on Thursday shouldn’t affect the debate. Understand the position we’re in however I am against any postposition.
