1 AnswerVideo & Online Games5 years agoWhat, specifically, does the DIA do that the CIA does not?
I know the DIA is supposed to provide intelligence on foreign state and non-state actors' military capabilities and intentions, but that sounds exactly like (part of) what the CIA does. The DIA sounds like a redundant agency; it sounds more like a branch of the CIA than a required separate division.

2 AnswersComics & Animation6 years agoNew York Stock Exchange/Military question?
In the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the Russian army has taken over the NYSE. How would an invasion of NYC and an attack on the Stock Exchange affect the market and businesses involved in stock trading? Step-by-step, from a day before the Russian invasion of the US, until the capture of the stock exchange, how would the market react? What would the ripples be (strictly economic, not military repercussions)? If and when would trading shut down?

1 AnswerHistory9 years agoA little trick I discovered with the imaginary number. Tell me why it is spurious.?
i=√(-1)
∴ i²=i·i
∴ i²=-1
∴ i²=(√(-1))·(√(-1))
=√(-1)·(-1)
=√(1)
=1
∴ i²=1
But we said above that i²=-1
∴ -1=1
But it is known that -1≠1
∴ we have a contradiction.
This contradiction arose because we said i=√(-1)
∴ i≠√(-1)

5 AnswersOther - Arts & Humanities10 years agoIf I'm Lithuanian, with my mother's maiden name, would I be Polish or Jewish?
Her maiden name is Gecevicius.... I know that kind of ending is Polish in origin, and my grandmother was born and raised in a largely Polish-speaking region (Vilnius/Wilno). I also know that the surrounding regions have large Polish populations. At the time the region was Polish and before that my ancestors would have lived during the time of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. I also know that pure Lithuanians were Polonized, meaning they weren't actually Polish but were assimilated into their culture, which could make me think I'm Polish when I'm not. Also I know a lot of Jews lived in the region and considering the number of direct ancestors I had back then, is there a strong possibility that I'm Jewish?
