My cat is acting strange - hiding under bed, not using litter box? What do I do?
My uncle found a stray cat, Luna, and decided to keep her in his garage so he could feed her and take care of her (he took her to the vet, she is up to date on every shot, flea medicine, etc.). I took her in because I know that I would be able to spend more time with her. I have 1 bedroom apartment, and I also have another cat, Pancake. Pancake is a female who is about 1 year old. She is very playful. Luna, my new cat, is a female around 6 years old (vet estimated age). She is VERY skiddish. Whenever I try to pet her, she gets nervous and runs away. However, once in a while she will jump up next to me and let me pet her (she even purrs sometimes). Both cat's are fixed.
Since Luna has been at her new home (about a month), she has been hiding under the bed almost 24/7 and not using the litter box that is right next to the bed (she goes under the bed). Pancake sits at the end of the bed and tries to go under with her, and Luna hisses/growls. Can anyone explain to me why she does that, and what I can do to help her stop doing this?
Her food and water are in the same room as her, on the opposite wall. She comes out to eat/drink about twice a day and goes right back under the bed. Sometimes I try to lure her out with treats, but she just eats them and runs back under the bed. There are 3 litter boxes in my apartment, one is RIGHT next to the bed where Luna hides. At one point, she even pooped on the floor on the opposite side of the room. Yet, when I put the litter box in that spot, she doesn't use it. Instead, she goes under the bed. I thought maybe it was because my other cat, Pancake tends to use the litter box that I set up for Luna, but how am I supposed to stop her from doing that? Since I live in a smaller apartment, I want my cats to be able to roam around with me as much as they can (I don't want to shut my cat out of the bedroom).
I need someone to help me understand why this is happening and what I should do to solve the problem!!! I have tried picking her up and having her explore the rest of the house and she runs right back under the bed!
*FYI-I know having 2 cats in a 1 bedroom apartment seems unethical. HOWEVER, I live in the same house as my landlord (she has a 3 story house with 4 bedrooms of her own), and I have a cat door connecting my apartment to the rest of the house, so they have more room to run around than in my tiny space. She is an animal lover and also has 1 cat of her own who usually stays in the landlord's area.
1 AnswerCats7 years agoCalculus help! airplane problem?
If you jump out of an airplane, prior to opening your parachute, your downward velocity t seconds after the jump is approximated by - v(t)=49(1-e^(-0.2t)) m/s.
Assuming that you jump out of an airplane at a height of 1200 meters above ground and open your parachute 25 seconds after you have jumped,
a) How far above the ground are you 10 seconds after you jump?
b) If it takes an additional 200 meters to reach a safe landing speed after you open your parachute, will you land safely on the ground? Justify your answer.
Please help me learn how to solve this problem! I have tried multiple times and can't figure it out. Please also explain how you solved the problem, so I understand how to do it in the future. Thanks :)

1 AnswerEngineering8 years agoUsing a lot of data on internet..is he lying?
I looked at my boyfriends internet usage on his phone...it was 78 mb for just one night! I caught him watching porn before and asked him to stop. Since then, he's been using data on his internet but deletes his history...is 78 mb a lot to use...is it as much as watching porn videos? I'd rather have him watch porn and not lie but before I talk to him I want to make sure its reasonable for me to think he's been lying.
1 AnswerOther - Computers8 years agoI want to end my lease!?
My boyfriend who is 19, and I who am 17 have signed a lease for a studio apartment. On the top of the lease, the landlord states "LEASE AGREEMENT EFFECTIVE JUNE 1ST, 2013 AND SUSTAINABLE MONTH TO MONTH FOR THE TERM OF ONE YEAR WITH NO INCREASE IN RENT FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS FROM START DATE, UNLESS VIOLATIONS OCCUR WITHIN THAT TIMEFRAME." The landlord stated that we could have a 6 month or 1 year lease, but this sounds like it could be month to month.
Reasons I want to terminate this lease:
-Landlord invades privacy (knocks on door at any hour - even at around 10 pm - doesn't she need to give notice?)
-Landlord lets dogs poop in common area and in our apartment
-Landlord texts me every day (not exaggerating)
-Landlord tries to bend the rules on lease (says she will charge us extra to use our own AC-even though the lease states she pays for all utilities, including the electric bill)
-Landlord is VERY naggy (she rudely told me that the lease states we can only do laundry 2-3 times a week, and that it has gotten out of hand. I keep track of how many times I do laundry on the calendar and I never do it more than 3 times a week - also said something was leaking from my car, she nagged me for a week telling me not to ruin her driveway she just got refinished- I took my car to the shop and nothing was leaking)
Is there a loophole to get out of the lease agreement? I know I can since I'm a minor, and I can void the contract at any given time. However, I don't want my boyfriend to be stuck in the lease. The landlord is very money greedy and I want to make sure we get our security deposit back. Is it possible that I could claim that the lease says month to month and give her notice that we want to move? I don't think "trying to work things out" will work. I am not happy living here and I know she will not negotiate anything. I want to know if there is any LEGAL way of ending the lease, so she HAS to let us leave. Thanks!
3 AnswersRenting & Real Estate8 years agoWhat are apartments above stores called?
I'm looking for an apartment but I want one above a store. There's usually bars, cafes, antique stores, etc. on the main street. Can anyone tell me what they're called, just regular apartments? Also, how can I go about renting one?! Do I talk to the store owner or will there just be a for rent sign? Thanks!
