I'm a poor college student and I don't know the first thing to cooking. Hell, I even fried eggs wrong today because I didn't heat up my pan enough. I even boiled eggs wrong because I didn't cover the pot. I can literally screw up any recipe that is deemed fool proof.

The point is, what are some do and don'ts of cooking? Like how do I know my pan is too hot, and such.

I'm stuck on the first question of my practice midterm, and I haven't the slightest clue on how to work it out.

The following limit represents the slope of the tangent line to a curve y=f(x) at the point (a,f(a)). Determine the function f and the number a, then calculate the limit.

lim (1/(x+1)) - (1/4)

Any help? I honestly have no idea how to answer this question save for finding the limit

I have this lump on my butt crack on the left side, it's leaning towards the cheek, but is under the anus and not the tail bone. It's doesn't hurt, and it doesn't feel like a pimple either since when I squeeze it, it feels pretty solid actually. It only kind of hurts when I squeeze it, or sit in a position when I'm resting my legs on top of the table. I'm pretty sure it's not a cyst since it's not close to the tailbone, and it's not hemorrhoids. It itches occasionally, and after a while it goes away. Feels a bit tender, but I don't really notice it when I'm sitting or standing normally. And it's about the size of a dime.

Any leads? I'm not too worried, but it's been kinda of on my mind recently and I wan't to know what it is.

I'm a big fan of windows 7, but I'm hearing that since windows 8.1 came out, windows 7 would start to become obsolete and won't get recent updates. I'm not much of a fan for windows 8, so which one would be the safer option to go with?

So my parents are borrowing money to help me go to school, but we still have not received the PLUS confirmation sheet in the mail. Where do I request one? Or where can I print one out?

Well, as a result of my ignorance of the GPA Verification, I don't qualify for the A grant. I really need the money for college, or else have to borrow 24k for my first year of college. I was wondering if it was possible to turn in a late GPA verification, and if so, what forms to use. I know it's August, and I know the deadline is passed, and I know that I am no longer qualified, but it's still worth a shot.

So I got an unlocked and non-jailbroken IPhone 4 today, and I tried cutting down the SIM card from my old phone and sticking it into my IPhone. No dice. It says "No SIM" at the top right. I have TMobile as a service provider by the way.

The SIM card's a bit loose, but not too loose (By this, I mean a little bit smaller than the adapter). What do I need to do to get the SIM card to work? Do I need to call customer support and ask request a microSIM to myself all the trouble? Or what?

I turned on my router this morning and noticed that the service light didn't light up, but the wireless, power, and broadband light were all on, with the occasional blank wireless light and blinking power light. I called my service provider and they told me to hold the power switch on the back for about 15 seconds before turning it back on, and it worked. Later on, my sister accidentally hit the plug and it shut off because it's a loose outlet, and I encountered the same problem. Thankfully, I managed to fix it by pulling the plug and putting it back in.

I'm kind of in a pinch because I don't want this thing to happen again, what do I do? What's the cause of this problem?

I ordered something off PC Richard and Sons and I was expecting it to arrive today.

My sister was home before I got home from school, and she says that nothing came. When it says delivered, does that mean that the mail man delivered it to the address and then checked it off? Or is it still in the process of being delivered?

So I'm getting really mad at Chrome because whenever I try to load a page, it loads the page since the spinning circle is on the icon of the webpage next to the name, but it freezes, so I can't scroll down the page, and I can't refresh it. I press the X and then when I press refresh, nothing happens. The only way I can close the page is either by pressing the x to close it or to open up the Chrome task manager to close it like that.

This happens on random pages, especially Google search pages.. Please help, I'm really mad at Chrome for this :(

So I chose the career path of a sort of illustrator or graphic designer, and I'm debating whether or not to go to UC Irvine if I get in, or go to Calstate Long Beach, which I already got accepted. I was looking through the UC Irvine catalog for majors and classes, and I find that their programs are more geared towards fine art and history, which I really don't have much interest in, and the only thing that I have a sliver of interest in is their digital arts program, which is only a minor. In contrast to CSULB, I think that Long Beach's art programs appeal to me more, but most of my family and teachers encourage me to go to a UC if I get in.

Which do I choose? I'm leaning towards CSULB, but still, I want to keep the UC's in mind also.

Well, I recently remembered an eroge novel by Nitroplus called Satsuriku no Django, and I really really want to get the game. I was wondering if there was some sort of English patch for it or some sort because I don't know as much Japanese to correctly comprehend what I read.

Well, I've been extremely worried because I realized today that my ACT scores still haven't been officially reported to the UC's I've applied to. All this time I thought that I had listed at least one UC on the colleges that I wanted to send my ACT scores to when I first registered, but looking back, I have no UC's on it. I did turn in my application on time with a previous ACT score (with no writing), so I was wondering if it is still too late to report my scores.

So just this morning, this lump on the upper to right portion of my butt crack formed and it kind of hurts when I touch it, and when I lean back in my chair. It doesn't really itch. It's about the size of a penny, maybe a little bit smaller. It doesn't have any discharge of puss, and I don't think there's any blood when I use the restroom, (mainly because I haven't used number 2 today yet) It doesn't hurt at all when I walk. I'm thinking that it might be hemorrhoids, but I could be wrong. I don't think it's pilonidal cyst either as it's too low from the tail bone. I keep my anus very clean and I wash it regularly when I shower.

So I just got a refill for both black and color cartridges today for my HP All in one 6210 printer, and it's giving me a remove and check color cartridge error. I've tried cleaning it, nothing, I've also tried the reset function, still nothing Any help?

So I'm debating on what colleges I should apply to from the CalStates and the UC's. I'm looking for a college with a strong art program because I'm looking towards an illustration type career, like a concept artist of some sort. I've taken a look at the CSU's and it seems that Long Beach and Fullerton are my best bets, but I'm still not too sure from the UC's. I hear UCLA has a good program, but I'm very sure that I will not be able to get admitted. I plan on going to Art Center College of Design after I graduate high school, but looking at how competitive it is, I'm starting to look at alternative colleges in case I don't make it in right after high school. Can anyone help?

With college just by the corner, me, a high school senior, am going through a pretty bad crisis in terms of deciding what college to go to. I have no clue right now, I'm apply to a few UC's and some Cal-States, I'm also applying to Art Center and Mount Sierra. The main program I want in a college is a Game ART program. I emphasize "art" because I want to get into some illustration related career, primarily in video games. I'm also fine with design, but there has to be some sort of art in it. I just don't know what to do, I see some peoples portfolio's for Art Center from the past and I cry at how much better they are than mine. (That doesn't discourage me, but it worries me) If I don't get into Art Center, what college should I go to that satisfies my desire to become a game artist?

Yes, I've heard of the Art institutes, but my design teacher persuaded me not to go because he says that the credits I earn there probably will not transfer into other colleges, thus, wasted money. The AI could be an alternative, but for now, I don't plan on applying.

Do any of the UC's or Cal-States have something like that? (Illustration of some sort) I know Santa Cruz and Irvine have game design, but those are more geared towards programming, something I have no interest in. For now, I'm really pressured about the choices of colleges I have chosen, does anyone know any other colleges that might have a game art program? Even out of state will do (I'm in California if you haven't noticed) Or maybe some UC's or Cal-States that have something I overlooked
