My gynecologist wants to put me to sleep for a colposcopy?
My gynecologist wants to put me to sleep in the OR to do a colposcopy because I have CIN 1 (mild dysplasia). He was originally going to do the colposcopy in the doctor's office in the exam room but wasn't able to do it because he says I have a tilted uterus and he wasn't able to see my cervix. I find this quite weird because he did a colposcopy on me before. Should I get a second opinion? Is it absolutely necessary I go through with this colposcopy in the OR? I have had a colposcopy done before and also had cryosurgery (cryotherapy) done before. I'm almost tempted to see another doctor as maybe they can just do the procedure with me awake. What would you do in this situation? Do I get a second opinion? I almost feel like the doctor just wants to make more money so that is why he is sending me to the OR.

9 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan8 years agoIs it just me or does "the system" not let you get ahead?
I have a friend who was unemployed. After 3 years of being unemployed they got a job. While they were unemployed they were receiving $511 each month in food stamps. After getting the job their food stamps were reduced drastically to only $28 each month. Now money they had been using towards bills they have to use to pay for food making it impossible to get ahead. Is it just me or does "the system" not let you get ahead? anyone else feel this way?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics8 years agoWould you put a child that weighs 70 pounds in a high back booster seat or keep them in a 5 point harness?
The car seat I have has a 5 point harness weight limit of 65 pounds (you can only use the harness to a maximum weight of 65 pounds). My son is now 5 pounds over this. Would you go out and buy another seat with a higher weight limit for the 5 point harness or would you just keep them in the current seat but converted to a high back booster using the regular seat belt?
2 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting8 years agoHow many after school activities should a Kindergartener do?
My son is going to be starting full day Kindergarten next week from 8:40am to 3:20pm. He went to preschool full day too but it was only 9am to 2pm so Kindergarten is going to be a little longer. I was wondering what your thoughts were on how many (or how many days) a Kindergartener should do after school activities? My son currently does karate on tue and thu evenings and swim lessons on saturdays, would it be too much to add a dance class on wednesday evenings? What do you think? How many activities do you limit your kids to?
2 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education8 years agoIs it okay if your child has an accident in Kindergarten?
My son turned 5 in April and is starting Kindergarten next month in September. He is potty trained except occasionally if he gets upset at school he will have an accident (wet himself). Is this ok in Kindergarten if he has 1 or 2 accidents during the day? He has Autism Spectrum Disorder. He doesn't have accidents on a daily basis but he might have them a couple times a week.
5 AnswersToddler & Preschooler8 years agoMy son LOVES Goldfish.?
But I know they are bad for him. What's a healthy alternative? Something he could be eating instead that tastes similar but is more healthy for him?
3 AnswersToddler & Preschooler8 years agoI was supposed to start a new pack of birth controls on Friday.?
I didn't start the new pack until today (Wednesday). I took the last sugar pill (placebo) on Thursday of last week. I had sex last night. Is there a chance I could be pregnant or is the last pack of pills that I finished Thursday still in my system?
1 AnswerPregnancy8 years agoI am having a birthday party for my son on April 2nd. He's going to be turning 5.?
I am making up goodie bags to go along with his party theme which is Angry Birds Space. So far to put in the goodie bags I have Angry Birds blowouts, Angry Birds Space tatoos, and Angry Birds Star Wars fruit snacks. What else should I put in the goodie bag? I want the goodie bags to look decent sized but at the same time I can't spend a lot.
5 AnswersToddler & Preschooler8 years agoHow much would you spend on a birthday present for a 3-5 year old child?
My son has 2 birthday parties to go to next week, 1 for a 3 year old, the other for a 5 year old. What is a reasonable amount to spend on each birthday present without looking cheap? How much do you usually spend on average for a 3-5 year old child's birthday present?
6 AnswersToddler & Preschooler8 years agoMy son woke up at 4:30am today?
He just now fell asleep at about 5:30. Do I let him sleep and risk him being up during the middle of the night or really early in the morning or should I wake him up at some point? If so, when? He is 4 and a half and has preschool tomorrow morning starting at 9am (usually gets on the bus about 8:35).
3 AnswersToddler & Preschooler8 years agoMy son has had a new preschool teacher since coming back from Christmas break.?
He has a communication book so that the teacher and I (the parent) can write back and forth about whatever we want to discuss. This teacher only writes to me if my son has an accident - if he wet his pants. She has never once mentioned anything else about any other area of how my son is doing in school and on the days he didn't have a potty accident she didn't write anything to me at all. Would you say this means she is a bad teacher?
2 AnswersToddler & Preschooler8 years agoWhat would you do if another child proceeded to push your child repeatedly?
and the parent wasn't doing anything about it (wasn't saying anything)? Yesterday we were at the park and this other boy kept pushing my son over and over again because he wanted to keep him away from this "campfire" they were building, basically a pile of sticks on top of sand that he didn't want my son messing up. The boy was with an old man who I presumed to be his grandfather and the grandfather didn't say anything to the boy to get him to stop pushing my son. After a few times of him pushing my son I eventually told the boy "we don't push" It wasn't until after this the grandfather was telling my son "he doesn't want to be hugged" because my son kept trying to hug the boy. What would you do if a child was pushing your child and the parent/caregiver or whoever was watching them didn't do anything about it?

5 AnswersParenting9 years agoWhy do parents give soda to toddlers?
I've been going to the park a lot lately and I've noticed quite a few parents giving their toddlers soda. Why do they do this? I mean are they just ignorant and they don't realize how bad it is for little kids or do they honestly just not care? And I am not talking about just giving the child 1 sip...I am talking about parents who let their 1, 2, or 3 year old child drink a whole cup or bottle of soda.

I am his mother. What should I have said in response to that?
1 AnswerToddler & Preschooler9 years agoWould you allow your 3 or 4 year old to go to preschool with 1 or 2 temporary tattoos on them?
Or do you think these should be washed off before sending the child off to preschool?
