I LOVE hound dogs! I have a 4 yr old beagle and 2 yr old basset who get along wonderfully! I work out of my home so I get to spend lot's of time with my girls.

  • Jogging in pool?

I have a 30 ft round pool and want to know either how many times do I have to jog in it (around perimeter) to reach a mile OR how many feet are in a 30 ft round.

My math is terrible which is why I can't figure this out.

And is it horrible not to especially when the cat is spayed and goes to the vet anytime anything might be wrong?

  • Any Avon Reps who had an unauthorized charge on their bill?

My District Manager recently did a phone order which charged MY account the phone in service fee of $ 7.00. I was out of town and my backorder was put on hold. I made the payment once I got home and the DM decided I needed the stuff and just had it charged to me. I called Avon 2x now to get it removed and they have sent a "request" even though I did not authorize this at all!

Is it allowed for a district manager to put charges on someone elses account without their approval/permission? I have NEVER phoned in an order nor would I ever do so. I am very angry and told them my DM is NOT allowed to put any kind of charges on my account and I will NOT pay this charge.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, please let me know. I am thinking this is criminal to use someone else's account in this manner.

  • Question for the 13-18 yr olds?

This question is mainly for the 13-18 yr olds. If you could please answer the question AND state your age that would be great!

My question is: How many times per week do you eat fast food/restaurant food? I don't care if it's breakfast, lunch, dinner or just as a snack. Just curious on the average number of times per week.

    Thanks!

  • For those who Titer Test...?

For those who titer test how often do you find that you need to actually vaccinate?

Both my girls were titer tested last year and found that they did NOT need any vacs. I am wondering if I should bother doing the titers again this year and assume they will most likely need to be vaccinated?

I have found that doing the Titer test helped my beagles allergies SIGNIFICANTLY last year since she didn't get any vacs. so that is a bit of concern for me and why I am asking this question.

Here is their history if it helps

Beagle: Vacs at pup, 1 and 2 yrs old. At 3 yrs we did the titer and a 3 yr rabies shot.

Basset: Vacs at pup, titer at 1 w/3 yr rabies shot.

Obviously neither girl will need the rabies shot.

Both gals spayed at 6 months.

  • Question about breeding beagles?

And don't get angry because my girls are spayed! I am looking to purchase one from a breeder and just wanted a little info before making a decision.

1- To what age can a beagle be bred?

2- How many heat cycles do they have a year. If the breeder says she breeds them every other cycle is that enough time between litters for mom to recover?

PLEASE answer if you actually know. I don't want any guessing.

  • Could someone please tell me how it is ok...?

To leave your dog in a car for 2 hours?!

I am seeing way too many "thumbs down" on the other thread and seeing that spring is here and summer around the corner that is scaring me bad.

I can't imagine leaving my dog in a car for more than a minutes but 2 hours?

Please do NOT leave your dog in a car even with the windows open a crack.

For those who don't know this people will call the police and/or animal control over this. You might want to think twice before doing something like that.

  • Best age to spay? Sooner or later?

We will be getting a puppy soon and am wondering what your thoughts on the proper time for spay should be.

I had both my girls done at 6 months old. I did this to beat the potential first heat since I heard that can increase their cancer risk. I hear some people are getting it done much sooner than 6 months now. Is that safe? I even heard an 8 week old puppy going to her new home already spayed which I was shocked about.

I have also heard there are benefits to waiting until your dog reachs maturity. Since we have a fenced yard and are constantly watching the girls and NEVER leave them unattended that could be an option for us.

So when is the best time to ensure proper growth, least likely side effects from horomones and ease of recovery.

  • Things to know before you breed?

BEFORE THIS GETS REPORTED AGAIN HERE IS MY QUESTION:

What do you think of these facts? I wonder if people know these facts are truth or do they just think that breeding is $$$.

Should people continue to allow this to happen and blame ignorance?

Are there enough questions above to keep this post?

    THE FACTS:

-Every hour about 2,500 puppies and kittens are born in the United States.

    - A dog abandoned on the street has a life expectancy of about one (1) year, a cat slightly longer.

-Each year, there are over 15 MILLION animals destroyed in pounds and shelters because there are no homes for them.

-A male pet can easily father 750 offspring in his lifetime.

    - If a dog or cat has four (4) offspring every year (which is a very low number) and two (2) of them are female, and each of them also has four (4) offspring a year, two of them female - by the seventh (7th) year, the original mother will have four thousand three hundred and seventy-two (4,372) descendants
