If my answer consists of nothing but Yare Yare Daze (give me a break) I think you posted a troll question Apostolic Christian Fur. A writer, roleplayer, character designer, and college student. Protector of my beliefs, respecter of others. Love all men, do not drive away. Don't let satan have his way.

  • Does any Christian actually research?

This is something that bothers me.

As a player of fantasy games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Magic: The Gathering, and others I often look up on the internet to see if it's appropriate to play these games or not if one follows God. What usually proceeds is my head banging into a nearby wall because of absurdly baseless claims or arguments made from someone who clearly doesn't understand the game. They'll claim that it teaches you to summon demons and learn how to cast occult spells, to which I object, or that it will teach our children to do evil and what not.

So my question this fine morning is...do any of you who argue against fantasy actually look into fantasy and seek to understand it, or do you look at the first monster you see and go

"This game has demons! It's demonic!"

  • Is it illogical to be too logical?

    From the Power of One.

"'Peekay,' [Doc] said, 'in this world there are very few things made from logic alone. It is illogical for a man to be too logical. Some things we must just let stand. The mystery is more important than any possible explanation. . . The searcher after the truth must search within humanity. Ruthless logic is the sign of a limited mind. The truth can only add to what you know, while a harmless mystery adds to the meaning of life. When a truth is so important, it is better left as a mystery.' It was an answer that left me confused for some years, for Doc worshiped the truth and had always demanded it between us at any cost".

  • How would I write this story?

I have this idea for a story: six characters are all gathered round a table, playing the board game Key to the Kingdom. They are also using special home made rules where each figure also has a class - there's an Archer, Warrior, Cleric, Thief, Scholar, and Wizard. What I wanted to try to do is as the game progresses, the story kind of makes an interesting perspective switch: instead of being from the perspetive of the players, the progress is told from the perspective of the pieces and the characters that the players eventually give them. So instead of players rolling dice and moving pieces, you would have the Cleric and Wizard walking around the Kingdom together trying to avoid the magic and monsters.

Do you guys kinda understand what I'm getting at?

  • What exactly are "Desires of the flesh"?

I was wondering what exactly qualifies as "Desires of the flesh" as far as Christianity goes. Does this mean that wanting to kiss a girl (and I don't mean a full on sexual make out, I mean just a simple kiss on the lips) is a desire? What about wanting to hug her, or hold hands, or hold her? How do we know for sure? Because with my church all these "No kissing/holding hands/whatever" rules or standards or whatever just seem like play-it-safe countermeasures to ensure none of us fall into sin. Using the bible (with definitions, do t tell me about lust unless you can DEFINE it; I don't want simple copy paste answers unless you care to EXPLAIN the verse) is welcome, but not a must.

Would praying while working with two (or more) hands accomplish more than the above (1000 hands in prayer & two hands working)?

  • What should I do in this situation?

Ok, so my girlfriend's father, a pastor of the church I go to, offered to let me stay in his home for a while...(and from our conversations, not just like...2 or 3 months, a few years maybe). See, my stepfather at home doesn't treat me right, and I'm tired of it, and plus I feel this is an opportunity to grow...but the thing is...my mother doesn't feel like I'm ready, and of course my mother and oldersister asked the question of how will I pay for insurance, gas, etc. I'm enrolled at a CSU (California State University) and I still want my education, so I figured I could drop out from there and go to a JC...it's cheaper and not as good, but at least it won't eat all of my money (I have a little above $9,000 in total wealth if I move out) in two terms like CSUs would. But my mother still feels I'm not ready...but I feel like God wants me to do this because it's an opportunity for me to grow and become stronger...what do I do...? Do I listen to my family, or listen to God? (And if you're atheist, replace "God" with "Heart"...because one of my atheist friends said God talking to me with songs and lessons is a coincidence..but it got me thinking and that I should follow what my heart is saying...I want ideas from all people, not just Christians...). My father is paying for insurance, gas, and my 3rd school year at the CSU, and if I move out I feel if I go to a JC and get a job, it will help pay for it. In addition my grandmother puts $20/month into a credit union account she made for me that I can withdraw funds from at any time.....

what should I do? Go with God/My Heart/Feelings, and go in for a struggle but the chance to grow and change, or stay at home and take my step father's way of treating me..but have a sure way to not completely worry about finances (read: stay where it's safe, pretty much)?

  • Are people really one bad day from insanity?

For anyone who's read (or at least read a summary of) "The Killing Joke" by Alan Moore, the Joker makes the claim that the world is "one bad day" from going as insane as he is.

Is this true? Are people really like that? Are anyone of us just one simple bad day away from becoming corrupted, or turning insane?

  • How does this story idea seem?

Well, I've finally decided to pitch my story I've been thinking of to the B&A section.

Assume any and all animal characters are anthropomorphic and around the same size as each other unless specified otherwise. The anthro characters are also slightly shorter than the average human (this would be explained in the story if the issue ever arose).

Vigne is a brown fox and the adopted son of Janus Mhia, a pitch black fox who considers foxes to be the most supreme of all the animal races, leading him to often make racist comments about the other races. Though not as harsh with his comments as he has been in past years, Janus still retains some of his racist tendencies. Living with Janus is Jia, a female gray wolf who has the tendency to find herself attracted to younger males, especially ones around Vigne's age.

Life seems normal for them until one day a truck attempts to run down Vigne while he was crossing the street. The truck is hit on the side by some unseen force and sent spinning out and crashing. At first Vigne is afraid, thinking an evil spirit is with him, but it is soon revealed that the spirit with him is there to protect him, and calls itself Kraw. Kraw seems to be a green fox wearing some kind of wooden armour over his arms, legs, and torso, and this armour is wrapped in vines that drape off of the wood armour. Kraw appears invisible to some creatures, but to others they can see him easily (I have yet to decide why this is). Janus is worried about his son, and so he finds out about the group known as Faith United, a group of four creatures (Commonly referred to as "The Four") who travel about, helping creatures with the odd, spiritual, and supernatural. Janus calls them in to investigate this "Kraw" and see if he really is evil or not. Little do they know, this begins to cause all sorts of problems. For some reason Janus' friend Zyrith, who studies plant creatures of all kinds, takes an interest in Vigne and attempts several times to capture Vigne, even going so far as to bio engineer a bizarre half animal half plant creature that he calls "Plume".

Unfortunately, Zyrith's actions attract the attention of The Red Dragon Cult, an organization devoted to the teachings of the red dragon, Naril, known for his ideas of rising to become as powerful and equal as the God of Light, Cahaya, and the Demon, Djall, rather than letting these two entities keep the power for themselves.

And thus, Vigne, Faith United, Janus, Jia, and Zyrith are all thrown into the conflicts that soon follow.

The characters mentioned above each have their own powers too (as well as many of the other characters that would be encountered during the story):

Vigne has his "Spirit Partner", Kraw. Vigne cannot directly control Kraw, and Kraw can awaken himself and act if he feels Vigne is in danger. Early on Vigne learns how to use part of Kraw's spirit to summon and control vines like Kraw can. A side from that, Vigne always had the ability to communicate with plants (and in this universe plants sometimes are just more than simple organisms).

Janus is a pyrokinetic; in other words, he can create and control fire with his mind.

Jia seems to have no active powers, but her blue eyes are often described as mystic and has differing effects on people.

Niko Linni, the car fox, is the leader of Faith United, has telekenetic powers; that is, he can lift and manipulate things with his mind, as well as using telekenetic forces to knock things and people around. He can also see the "Spirit Chains" which shows how good or evil one is.

James the cat is Niko's best friend, and a member of FU. James is gifted athletically, and has greater speed, strength and stamina than the usual creature. He uses martial arts.

Rio is another FU member. He can read emotions and the energies within one's body. He uses his own unique fighting style that consists of stabbing with fingers rather than throwing punches. The ultimate idea when using this is to hit the opponent's pressure points and drain their energy.

Kayne is a black bat who can use ancient gems with power locked inside them. Each gem has a different element within them, such as fire, water, etc. Kayne often wraps these around his hands and can shoot the power from them as attacks.

Zyrith has no powers, but uses a throned "Rose Whip", and has different seeds he often scatters during battle. Each seed has different attacks, such as sprouting thorns or spraying smoke.

Naril is the master of Black Snaga, a corrupted form of Snaga. Snaga was a magical power that Cahaya withheld from his creatures because he knew that they would use it for their own needs. Djall the demon created Black Snaga and made it easier for creatures to use it.

So, that's the basic gist of things. Let me know what you think. If you have any q's or want anything cleared up, just ask and I'll add d

  • Where did the Goat Herders come from?

First atheists were saying the bible was written by Bronze Age Cavemen, now it's Goat Herders....

where do they get these arguments from? Do they just assume they were herders cause of the time period, or did some atheist site say that and now everyone's saying it? I'm just curious to know where people got this idea from.

  • Does every religion have a hell?

Pretty straight forward. Everyone goes "Oh if you follow God and Religion X turns out to be true, then deity Y will send you to Undesirable After life Z".

...but, from what I've read, yes a lot of religions have an after life, but not all I saw had a distinct "Place of paradise" and "place of eternal suffering"

  • Would Hasbro even care about this monster The Phlume?

Here's the clip of it if you haven't seen "My Little Pony the Movie"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElWBeGXTC1I

I'm just saying, let's say I decided to use one of their creatures, it's a plant called the phlume, in a writing of mine's. No, it's nothing published or anything. Let's just say I wrote the thing into my story or made a creature similar to it and put it in a story. Would Hasbro or whoever owns the movie it was in even care if I ripped it off or made a knock off? This is just something I was wondering...I mean, the thing only actually appears for like 2 minutes, and is never seen again.

  • Why do people think religion is a money making scheme?

I keep seeing people say that "Oh religion was created to dupe people out of their money". Um..if I remember correctly in the bible you're only supposed to tithe 10% of what you make. And then if you're facing economic hardships, you don't have to tithe then. I mean, I can understand with things like televangelists, who ask for absurd sums of money (from what I hear). But does that apply to every church and religion? I mean...come on. My pastor lives in a one story house that he's renting, and he's renting the church we go to. I'm pretty sure he's not making loads of money off of the congregation's tithes.

Keep in mind I'm talking about churches where people only tithe (give an offering) once per service. I could see why people would think Catholics might be trying to dupe people out of money.

So, where do people get this notion from? Personal experience? Their own assumption? Or personal experience?

  • Where did Spiritual Satanism start?

It's pretty straight forward...a side from the Joy of Satan religion, where do people get their ideas for spiritual satanism? Where did it come from? And if people recognize JOS is nonsense, why do I see similar elements of JOS is independent Satanists' beliefs (IE enki is satan)? I know I can go on Wikipedia and read about Atheistic (LaVeyan) Satanism...so what about Spiritual?

Note that this is concerning SPIRITUAL/THEISTIC satanism, not ATHEISTIC Satanism.

  • What does God think of Transgenders?

I have a friend who has always felt that he needed to be a female his whole life. Even when he was a kid, he naturally would gravitate towards female things like dolls and what not. Now, he wants to change himself into a female because being a male doesn't feel right to him and he feels he can be more of who he really is by becoming female. I'm totally behind him and will be there (at least to talk to him online...he lives in NY and I'm in California) if he needs someone to talk to.

My question is...what does God think of transgenders who are in the situation that my friend here is in? And in the event it's wrong...even if they still transgender is it possible for them to go to heaven? Thanks.
