  • How far gone do u think i am?

I had implanon removed on 12th January, got a positive result on 21st Feb. The test said i conceived 3+ weeks ago. The instructions said it can tell u if you are 3+ but how many more than 3 they cant tell u. It also explained that if you are for example 3 weeks, that means your doctor will date ur pregnancy as 5 weeks. (assumed day of ur last period was 2 weeks before u oulated) I havent had a period for over a year due to the implant. My doctor was useless and said he would leave my dating up to the midwives but Im so impatient its driving me mad!! lol I started "feeling" pregnant about 2 weeks after i had my implant removed but remember thinking it was too early and it must be symptoms of the implant being removed. My breasts were sore, i had pains in my stomache, and 2 weeks ago i started feeling really sick so after a week i took a test. Implant was removed 6 weeks ago so the most i could be is 6 weeks right? or is it 8 weeks? I*m confused Whats your guesses? When i have my scan i'll tell u who was right!

  • My car battery died last night but then started up again. Should I get it checked out?

Last night while driving (in thick snow might I add) my car battery died. Everything flicked on and off then it just went dead. But while waiting for my father in law, I tried to start the car again and it worked. So I drove home-bout a mile away. Then later that night managed to drive it another 5 miles without it dying. My windows usually go up with just one touch of the button but since last night I have to hold the button down to make them go up. Is the battery o.k or should i take it to a garage? Please help, I don't really know anything about cars and don't wanna get ripped off by the mechanic.

  • where shoul i send him to school?

sorry this is long but I need advice. My partner and I just moved 20 miles away from my work and our family and friends. We moved because the houses were cheaper and it is closer to my partners work. He works 6 days a week i only work3/4 so it made more sense for me to commute. My son is in pre school so we decided to leave him there until september when he goes to proper school, then we'll put him in a school closer to our new house. This is where Im having second thoughts. If Im a work and need someone to pick my son up from school my family will have to drive all that way to get him or I have to get a job during school hours which i cant do because it wont pay enough. Do i enroll him in a new school closer to home and change my job, struggle for money or do i stay at my job, change my hours a little bit, spend more in petrol and enrol him in a school closer to my family?

  • my brakes feel like they've gone. I only had them done in july and now my handbrake light keeps flicking on.?

I got my front brakes-disks and pads done in july at kwik fit. They were squeking for a while after I had them done but i just put it down to them being new. When I come off the motorway at this particular junction which is down hill, my brakes grind a little-is this just because I am slowing down quickly while going going down hill? Anyway now my handbrake light flashed at me this morning. Do i need my brakes done again?

  • credit checks when renting a property?

My partner and I are about to move house but are renting. The problem is that he has an IVA in his name. Will they refuse us the property? We will be going through an estate agent not private landlords and are already renting. He didn't have the IVA when we moved into our current property.

  • When should your child start learning how to write their own name?

My son turned three 2 months ago. He recognises most of the letters like when he see's an "m" he will say "thats for mummy" and if he see's an "i" says thats for ice cream. If I tell him to draw an "A" for Aidan, "I" for icecream, "D" for daddy and so on he can write his name but how do I take it to the next level? Also is this enough for his age?

  • I woke up with this pain yesterday.........?

in my arm just around my shoulder. Thought I'd just slept on it funny so went for a swim and after I couldn't lift my arm because it hurt so much. Went to work in the evening and tried to lift things i couldn't but worked through the pain and I think I mad it worse. This morning it hurt even more. I can move it backwards but cant lift it more than at a 45 degree angle. It hurts just to change gears in the car. I've had a hot bath and put muscle rub on which made it feel better for like half hour. Do you think I just slept on it funny or something else?

  • Should we leave and rent or wait and buy?

O.k we're supposed to be saving money to buy a house by living with my in laws but they are driving us mad. They have messed up y routine with my son by constantly interfering with his upbringing. I've managed to keep his behaviour unchanged but Im so tired from doing everything the wrong way round. We get lectures about where we go, what money we spend. We even get told off like kids if we don't make our bed as soon as we've got out of it! For example my 3 year old son wakes up at 6.30am and gets into my bed and watches tv until about 8am till we get up for school. I work late nights so i cat nap till then. She comes in a bribes him with toys or whatever to go downstairs with her. If i tell her he's fine with me she gets upset for the whole day that I didn't want her looking after him. Anyway after 5 minutes he wants me and is crying for me to go downstairs with him. Everyones asleep so i have to go to keep his quiet. (This is the bit where im supposed to split myself in two and make my sons and my beds, tidy the bedrooms and pick up the laundry). Then she just takes it upon herself to make him breakfast and dress him when its only like 7am when he doesnt have breakfast till 8.15 and then gets dressed at 8.45. I know this sounds silly but son is a little OCD and has to do things in sequence. If he knows he's given breakfast and dressed as soon as he gets up, he knows that he's going somewhere. So for like an hour he's moaning at me to go out with him when school doesn't start until 9.15! Then my FIL gets up and moans about th estate of our bedroom so i go clean them. I know she's just trying to help but i've tried explaining nicely why i do things the way i do and that im o.k doing it my self but she goes off and bitches about me to her husband and then he bends my partners ear about it. My partner has had enough and wants to just go and rent again. The problem is I know they'll get upset with us and we might regret not holding out and buying a place. With the credit crunch we really aren't in the position to buy for at least another year and we want another baby but cant have one living here. What would you do?

  • How did you become friends with the school mums?

My son goes to pre school and has done for about 8 month now. When I go to pick him up all the mums have their little groups where they stand and chat. None of them really talk to me tho. Im wondering if its because I look really young (I'm not) and aren't "mumsy". There's one woman who kinda talks because my son is quite friendly with her twin boys but that's it. The rest just blank me and when I make small talk they kinda give me one word answers and thats it. I wasnt that bothered at first coz I was the "new mum" but its been a while now and my son has had a party at home which some of these kids came to. I don't particularly want to be their friends, i have enough but its just a bit upsetting that they don't even want to talk to me and I don't know why?

  • Would you take them to the hospital?

My son is 3 years old and has a really bad cough. Since he was a year old, ever time he gets a cold or cough he starts to wheeze and cant breathe very well. He's not going to sleep well tonight. I've got inhalers for him but They aren't really helping. I think he might need antibiotics. Its out of hours for the doctor so I'd have to take him to the hospital. Do you think its a bit over the top. (If I wait till morning, I cant guarantee the doc's will have an appointment and when I've waited before he's got so bad he can barely breathe by morning?

  • 3rd birthday party game ideas please?

I holding a party at our house for my sons 3rd birthday with his pre school friends. I cant think of anything for them to do tho. We are hoping the weather will be nice enough for the garden so maybe something that can be played out doors and some for inside in case the weather isn't so great. Do you think 3 year olds would be able to grasp the concept of pass the parcel? There will be children ranging from ages 2 and a half to 4. Also any other ideas?
