  • How to word wedding invitations to clarify that each guest will be responsible for paying their own expenses?

My fiance and I are getting married in Vegas and decided that instead of going alone, we will invite anyone who can afford to make the trip out there to join us. After the short ceremony, we were thinking that we would invite people to a restaurant on the Strip for a "reception" - though it's going to just be more like a dinner and time for people to chat. My question is how do we clarify that we can't afford to pay for travel expenses, hotel costs, or for guests' dinner after the ceremony? Is there a way to include this in the invitation politely? I don't want anyone to be confused and think we are paying for their expenses!

    Thank you!

  • Should I introduce my new cat to my resident cat early?

We have had Emmi for 2.5 years, and yesterday we adopted a new 1-year-old kitty, Eli. Currently, we have Eli in his own room with the door closed. Eli is really social and has lived with cats before. Yesterday he hid under the bed a little, but today he is exploring the whole room, and even meowing and scratching to be let out of the room! The problem is, Emmi has never lived with other cats before and hisses and swipes at Eli through a crack in the door when she sees him.

I know we're supposed to wait 7-10 days to introduce them, but Eli is really lonely in the room all by himself and wants to get out! What should we do???

  • How to transport food for my wedding? What kind?

I'm getting married at a state park (pavilion and picnic tables) about 2 hours from my home.

We have a very low budget so I don't want to make a ton of finger foods that people will gobble up and still want more. I also don't want people eating all night. I just want to have enough food for people to be fed.

I was thinking of making a huge batch of soup, salad, and french bread. First of all, does that sound good to you? Secondly, how should I transport and serve the soup? There is no kitchen. How much food should I have for about 75-85 people?

Do you think this is do-able? I'm going crazy!

Thanks for taking a look at my question! I appreciate any responses.

  • Inexpensive wedding venues in the Eau Claire, WI area?

I'm getting married next summer. His family lives in Northwestern Wisconsin and mine live in Southeastern Wisconsin - completely opposite corners of the state!

We're looking for a wedding ceremony & reception site (both at one spot) around the halfway point between those two spots - somewhere around Eau Claire or Tomah, WI.

Does anyone know of any good, inexpensive locations to hold our wedding? We were going to have it at a state park but would like a place with an indoor option in case it rains.

We have an extremely tight budget (less than $1000) and it's totally a DIY event.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

  • Aching/stinging in arm from bug bite?

I have two small bites on the inside of my left forearm. They are about 1/4 inch in diameter, and red, raised, and itchy. I found them about 24 hours ago and now I have a dull ache shooting up my arm up to my bicep.

Has anyone experienced this sensation after a bug bite? What is it?

  • Is nutrition lost by freezing foods?

I want to start making large batches of meals and freezing them for convenience, and my question is, will any amount of nutrition in the food be lost by the process of freezing and thawing the meals?

  • Will I be okay waiting 3 months to have cryosurgery for cervical dysplasia?

I'm 21 years old and I recently found out that I have severe precancerous cervical cells. I was told my my doctor to make an appointment in June for another biopsy and possibly cryosurgery, pending those results. The reason she wants me to wait is because I'm very young and the dysplasia could clear up on its own.

My question is, how fast does cervical cancer typically develop in severely precancerous cells? Will I be safe waiting 3 months for treatment?

(I can't seek a second opinion from another doctor because I don't have insurance. I've been going to Planned Parenthood for the tests. I have no complaints about previous care; they've always used good judgment and given me lots of help in the past.)

  • Vegetarian Dish for Easter?

This is my first year being vegetarian, and my mom has invited my boyfriend and I to Easter dinner. She's said she is making pineapple-glazed ham, au gratin potatoes, and carrots & peas.

I want to bring something hearty enough to fill me up so I'm not hungry, but something that will blend well with the other side dishes. Is this possible?

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking for something comforting, like a casserole, rather than something impressive.
