  • Looking for the title of an obscure old movie?

I think it was about a governess or nanny, and she writes in a diary throughout the film. She is hired to look after a boy whose grandmother had recently died - from what I recall the father thought the boy was too attached to her (I think its indicated the boy may have had some sort of learning difficulty or could have been autistic). I think there's a scene where he's in an attic talking to his grandmother's dress, or something like that. At the end of the film the father has become displeased with the governess/nanny for some reason, and as she is leaving the boy is banging on an upstairs window and the glass breaks and he falls out and dies in her arms.

Note: it's not The Innocents with Debrorah Kerr.

  • Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge - Bluetooth switches off near my house?

So I connect my phone via Bluetooth to an FM transmitter in my car to listen to music, and have done this with no problem with my Galaxy S5 for the last year or so. However, I have just upgraded to an S7 Edge, and now find that whenever I get within the vicinity of my house, e.g. just turn into my road or park across the road, the Bluetooth switches itself off. Anyone know why this is? And what I can do to stop it? Thanks :)

  • How to tell if my car has locking wheel nuts?

I have a 2001 Vauxhall Vectra B and it needs new rear tyres. The company told me to check if they need the locking nut key.

The alloys seems to have all nomral bolts, but there is a small round one which has a sort of squiggle design on it - would that be a locking nut? It s smaller than the others.

I ve checked the car and don t seem to have a key or anything that would fit it. We didn t buy the car from a dealership, so can t contact them about it.

    Help! lol

  • Do you think we could cut the headboard off this bed?

We have a bed like this one (single size) but the headboard attached is just awful. Could we cut the headboard bit off so that we can use it with a separate one? Or do you think that would compromise the strength of the base?

  • Any know of a TV movie where a woman gradually becomes paralysed?

Bit of a long shot but I remember seeing a movie on TV a few years ago where a woman is diagnosed with a degenerative illness, and eventually cannot do anything for herself as she cannot move any of her limbs.

I don t remember much except I think the woman had straight dark hair, and there was a scene where she had a young child on her lap with her family?

  • UK customs handling times for goods outside of UK?

    Hi guys,

So I bought something off eBay and it's being sent from China. The seller gave me a tracking number, and it's now got as far as saying it has been received into UK customs. But it has now been several days and no update, no item, nothing. Does anyone know approximately how long it could take to be processed by customs?

    Thanks :)

  • Friendship/couple necklaces - which half should each person have?

I'm buying a couples necklace set for friends who are getting married. I was thinking of putting their initials on them, but each side only has room for one initial.

So, should I have the woman's initial on the man's side of necklace, so each has their partners initials on their pendant, or should each person have their own initial on their half?

    Thanks :)

  • What is the English translation for the Latin word 'incendia'?

I have seen so many conflicting answers. Some say it means fire, others say it means an inferno, others say it means to start a fire, while others state it is the plural of incendium and means fires.

I'm just wondering what the correct translation.would be. I'm looking to use it as a female name, and I think Incendia just sounds like the most appropriate option.

    Thanks, Tanya

  • Keeping old Orange pay monthly number on new contract?

Hi all, Just got a new phone through phones4u after my old contract expired. However, they couldn't do an upgrade on this handset, so have started a new connection. Have already spoken to Orange, and they said it is impossible to use my old Orange pay monthly number on the new contract.

So, is there any way around this, or should I just accept that I'll have to change numbers?

    Thanks, Tanya

  • How to get from Britannia International Hotel to ExCel London?

Hi everyone, my boyfriend and I are going to MCM London nxt weekend, and he managed to get us a room at the Britannia International Hotel in Docklands. Anyone know how to get from that hotel to the ExCel exhibition centre though? Previously I've always stayed at Custom House Hotel, which is on-site. Also if anyone knows any other good advice with regards to the area, i.e. good places to eat, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks :)

  • If you buy an Oyster Card online, does it need to be activated at an Underground station?

We only need it for buses, so won't be going to any stations. But I know that if you top up online, it says it needs to be activated at an Underground station.

    Thanks

  • Rover 114 lights not working?

    I have an m-reg rover 114.

Recently, its lights stopped working completely. I have indicators and brake lights, but headlights, sidelights, main beam, and lights at the back aren't working. Checked the fuses, all appears to be fine. Bulbs seem to be okay, but I doubt all of these bulbs would go all at the same time anyway.

Checked the wiring in the steering column, and the stalk, which also seem to be okay.

So, just wondering if anyone has any theories on what could be wrong, and how to fix this problem? Any and all help is very much appreciated, thanks :)

  • Song from a movie soundtrack? ?

The song is by a female singer, and lyrics include

    "My heart belongs to you".

Just wondering if anyone knows if the song was part of a movie soundtrack, or if I just randomly heard it somewhere?

    Thanks :-)
