  • We moved to a much smaller house, our dogs are peeing on everything. Should I withhold water?

We have 7 small dogs..they are indoors mostly cause they like to hang out with people. They no longer have much yard space because of construction that we are doing ourselves..not strangers. Even when that is done..they won't have the big yard they were used to. Geez, they even pee on the doors now, even chair legs. I am in constant clean up mode and thankfully have all tile. I was thinking I would withhold water part of the day..or at night? Not sure, but somehow get control. They never used to pee in the house and had freedom in and out, actually they still have freedom to go out to the designated areas. .it's just not as spacious as they were used to. We moved several months ago so its not so new anymore. They are comfortable in this little house in that they have their beds and cushions and play chase and are otherwise happy. They do not like neighbor noise..something we didn't have before so they are agitated and bark. They will go outside to pee, but then the next time pee on the door instead. Suggestions, please!

  • I have a few family receipes that I do not wish to share?

but people always love and ask for the recipe. It is only 3 that I won't share, one is our own lemon gelato, hand-scraped at home, mascarpone pie and my own biscotti. I guess I could offer some slightly different recipes without giving away the family 'secret' but is that fair? I think I feel like if I share it..it won't be special anymore. I often use these recipes for gifts and they are so loved that I feel like I won't have something special. Am I being stingy or what? I do feel bad and how does one decline in a kind way without feeling bad!?

  • Whats next if Novox or Rimadyl arent working anymore.?

My 12yo Rottie is 90Lbs, takes 150mg of Novox for the last 9 months but it does not seem to be working as well as it did in the beginning. We have to help him up if he 'gets stuck' . He is eating and drinking normally, poops normal but he is very stiff. He has no other health problems. He has been an indoor dog since we rescued him in 2005. Of course he goes outside, basically can be wherever he wants . He has 2 of his own love seats and several areas of padding throughout the house. We have done all we can to be sure he is comfortable and not wearing out his joints.

  • gave one of our dogs medication not his?

We have several dogs.. my oldest, biggest dog takes Novox 75mg pills. The evening pill..as usual wrapped in a piece of food for him, was prepared and my husband accidentally gave it to one of the little dogs. This was about 20 min ago. I see that it is a little more than double the dose the little dog would have used had the medication been for him. We don't know which of the dogs ended up with it. I know it's stupid..but we were harried and tired and we used the edge crusts of the leftover pizza to pocket the pill. He didn't want any of the dogs to feel left out and he ended up tearing several pieces for the other dogs. Usually we are very careful and feed the big dog his pill very independently. What do we do , small town and no night vet or know which dog.

  • How can grass damaged by dog urine be repaired or saved?

My nephew lived with my elderly mother, he got a large dog the last 2 years and her grass..which used to be thick and high... is rust colored! I am wondering if watering and fertilized will bring it back or is it beyond all hope and has to be reseeded? .

  • how much of a difference does a solar pad make on a above ground pool.?

I gave a way a 18ft round above ground pool to a family member. I am replacing a lost top cover and see that there is also a solar cover available but it does not state how many degrees warmer it would keep the pool.

  • My daughter in law seems offended I did their laundry, but didnt say it to me.?

I am babysitting over the summer for my son's family so he and his wife can work like hell over the summer .. I am basically on call any day or night. My daughter in law is a hard working woman, plain jane, very down to earth. I am not available during the school year cause I work for the school district. My grandson sent me a text that she was very upset that I had done their laundry and she didn't even want me to buy her towels and dishtowels like I had been doing. I thought I was helping..with the parents in and out of the house to and from work..I thought I was saving her from work in the house when she is home. She did not complain to me..she went on a rant and I guess I offended her? My grandson sent me a text that she had come home and 'flipped out'. Is laundry too personal? There are teen boys in the house..,and then the toddlers. I cook for them and get some help from the older boys..and just try to keep things in order. My son was appreciative when he came home yesterday before her ..so I went home. and I understand they kind of got in an argument over it and now I don't even know what to do. What do you think?
