  • Career change to IT. Do I need to get a whole new degree?

I'm interested in changing careers to IT, like network administration. I already have a bachelors degree in engineering. Is it useful to get a whole new degree or is specialized training (certificates) enough since I already have a BS. I asking this more towards someone who would be hiring.

  • I have a bump on my leg, what is it?

I feel a couple weeks ago and rolled on my left side of my body to come back up. I bruised my arm a little, but my leg has been weird. There is a bump on it, but it is kind of soft. It also hurts to the touch either by hand or just laying on it. There is no bruising and I can't figure out where the pain is coming from? It is also warm to the touch. Any ideas?

  • Tax question on money earned from a hobby?

I will be receiving a 1099 for money I earned in 2010 from bowling in tournaments. My question is, can I deduct expenses from bowling those tournaments in order to minimize taxes? For example, can I deduct the cost of a bowling ball I purchased in 2010 or something like that?

  • Need bicycle buying help quickly?

I'm looking at a bicycle on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item...

I asked some questions to the seller. But in general it looks like a 50cm, which is what I would need I believe. I'm 5'7 or so and shorter legged. Also he listed as a Trek Hilo 2000 but based on googling it looks like a Hilo 1000. I don't want to buy brand new and this seems like a deal if it is still in good mechanical shape. I'm looking for some opinions from people who follow bikes more.

  • Should I buy an HTC Evo 4G or iPhone 4?

I will be looking to get a new phone in the next phone. I'm currently with sprint so the switch to the evo would be easy. Sprint service is good for me for the most part. I'm not worried about AT&T service in my area either since they recently bought a smaller carrier which had good service around me. I won't have Sprint 4G capabilities around here for a while though and yes I know that Sprint 4G is different than other carrier's definition. One of the biggest draws for me to the iPhone is the apps. I know they have more than android. Looking to see what opinions are out there.Based on what I've seen the iPhone will cost me more month to month as well.

  • How many exemptions should I claim on my W-4?

I have received a federal refund of over $2000 the last 2 years and I want to change my W-4 so that I'm getting that back in my pay check instead of a refund. Currently, I only claim 1 exemption. I don't want to claim too much and end up owing either.

  • iPod won't connect to iTunes or computer?

I just picked up a used 6th generation 160gb iPod from a friend and it won't connect to iTunes or my computer. I have tried just about everything to get this thing connected. I have tried different usb cords, connecting to another of my computers, resetting the iPod, putting it in disc mode and connecting and several other things. I have tried all the 5 Rs from apple support except restore, because I can't connect to iTunes to do that. One interesting thing is that when I connected to my desktop the first time iTunes did recognize it, but wouldn't let me restore and wanted me to update iTunes (I was still on 7. something on that computer). Once I updated iTunes there, it wouldn't recognize it anymore. Seems like it might be something with the 160gb iPods and iTunes 9.0, but I don't know. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Lost sound on my computer?

This morning I got infected with some malware that blocked task manager and did something with my sound. I got the files removed and everything seems fine except that my sound is still not working. I went through all the devices and they say the are working properly and the volume is turned up. Based on all that it should be working but it isn't. I'm looking for some ideas on how to fix this.

  • My company revised my W-2 after I already filed. What do I do?

My company sent a revised W-2 after I already filed. I filed on the 7th and I received the revised W-2 on the 13th. The part that change was box 12, code W. My company originally messed up and only included the employeer contribution to the HSA, but because it is a cafeteria plan they needed to include employee contribution as well. Since I already filed, I need to know what I need to do now? I've never had this happen before. Thanks. If any more info is needed, just ask and I will add it.

  • Any other XM subscribers irritated by the programming change?

I've been an XM radio subscriber for a couple years now and have enjoyed it. While my favorite station Squizz has just changed names, I'm a little botherd by the lack of communication from Sirius XM about the change in programming lineup. I don't recall receiving any official word from the company about the change and it all went into effect this morning.

  • help with website development

I run a website for a local bowling assoc group. The website is basic XHTML and CSS nothing fancy. My skills aren't that advanced. Something the group would like to do is create a part of the website that allows bowling leagues to go in and input weekly high scores and then display them. I can create a Form page using XHTML, but it seems to me like this would take the use of a database to make it work, which I have never done and do not know where to begin. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this? I use a web hosting service for publication.

  • Been taking vicodin for a month and now off. Is it possible I'm experiencing withdrawl?

I had open heart surgery 2 months ago to replace my aortic valve. After the surgery I was on percosets. Then when that was done the surgeon put me on vicodin 5 mg as needed. I took one pill of these at night before bed to help me sleep for the last month and a week or so. I took the last one on Tuesday night. The last 2 days I have felt horrible again like back in the first weeks after my surgery, when I had been feeling better. I have a headache that doesn't go away, muscle pain and soreness and chills and hot periods. Is it possible I'm experiencing withdrawl? Like I said, I had been feeling better, but now I just feel beat down.
