The crib mattress I have is way too firm. My son is 5 months old and will not sleep on it. He will not fall asleep on it or If he is already asleep and you put him on it he wakes up within minutes. But if you put him on my bed or even the floor he sleeps fine. The carpeted floor is softer than his mattress which is ridiculous in my opinion. What is the softest one you can buy? I am hoping for a good night's sleep for him. He's been sleeping in the rock and play and is getting too big for it.

He is eating formula and breast milk (pumped). He never latched on and I am not pumping enough to give him only breast milk. He takes the breast milk just fine from the medela bottles but formula is another story. Medela is too slow with formula, and we have tried the playtex ventaire (too slow on the slow nipple - wasn't getting anything out, too fast on the medium flow), the playtex drop ins (too much gas and too slow), & Dr. Browns (slow nipple is way too fast - he throws everything up). I don't know what to try next. He's on similac formula so maybe I need to change the formula.

We have good friends who named their daughter Riley. If I have a boy I am set on the name Ryan. Is it too similar a name with the friend's kid? I know it doesn't really make a difference since they aren't family but I was just curious.

Pretty much everyone I know is pregnant. I have experienced fertility issues and being around a bunch of pregnant women is hard enough. But I have this fear that someone will steal the names I have chosen. I haven't kept them secret or anything but it's not something people remember. I know no one owns a name but it can get downright awkward if you have two kids with the same name in the family or through close friends. If someone does use the name should I just go ahead and use them anyway if I get the chance? Ryan and Natalie are the names I have loved for years now.

I'm trying to calculate a conception date and I am not sure if it could have been later in the month. The LMP was 9/21 and the positive pregnancy test was 10/25. I am hoping it is closer to the pregnancy test because sono results have me behind schedule. Thanks.

Anyone have a 8wk sono done and be told that development was behind schedule by a few weeks and still end up with a normal pregnancy? I went to my 8wk appt and there was just an egg sac. Doc said it looks more like 6 wks (even though it is definitely 8 wks since last period) and I have to go back in two weeks to see if things progress or stay the same. I had a miscarriage once before and I'd like to have some hope that things will turn out differently this time. Thanks.

If I have a girl I want to give her my Grandmother's name as a middle name. I like the name Natalie but Natalie Mary sounds awkward to me. What would be a good first name to pair with Mary? I do like more traditional names, and it can't end or rhyme with Anna because then it would rhyme with the last name. Thanks!

I am approx. 8 weeks now (my 1st dr. appointment is in a few days). My stomach is getting so big. Could it really all be bloating? My pants are getting uncomfortably tight, and my boobs are huge! I haven't gained any weight. Is it baby or bloat? And is this normal?

My yahoo home page looks different for the last few weeks. The news tab has large drop down boxes of random news items. I liked the tab system where I could tab through categories of news headlines. Now I have to go to the news page and sort through everything. I'd like to get the old way back. Other computers i have been on recently still have the old look. Can I change it back?

My last question was about 3 middle names. This one is about no middle names. Do you think that it is okay nowadays to only give your kid one name?

I keep seeing people ask about names on here and there are 2 middle names. Why? Aren't 2 names enough? Why are people using 3 and 4 names? Its silly and excessive. You can't fill it in on legal forms and you aren't going to be yelling after your kid with all of those names, or saying them every time you call them so what is the point?
