  • Do I charge tax on freelance photography services? (UK)?

Hi, I have been doing some freelance photography work for a company part time, as an extra income on the side of my main job. We have agreed a price (£150) for the service and now i need to make an invoice, but do I need to charge any tax? (like service fees or VAT if applicable in the UK). These earnings are absolutely minimal, would work out less than £1,000 per year if that changes anything.

I've looked everywhere for an actual answer so anyone who can clarify this then I would be so grateful! - I'm completely new to all this...Thanks!.

  • Do I have to sign a Letting Addendum?

Hi, my girlfriend and I are renting our first place of our own for our next year of university. We have already signed a contract and paid a retainer fee and deposit for the property - in short, the contract we have signed has secured us the property for next year...

Today however, we both received an email with an attached addendum contract, which would want us to be paying for a bills inclusive package and increase our monthly rent by around £260.

During the viewing stages and prior to signing the contract we have signed, we were told we can rent without paying for a bills inclusive package. I have been through the contract we have signed and found no mention of any clauses which would indicate paying for a bills inclusive package at a future date.

Do we have to sign this Addendum in order to keep the property, or would we be able to keep the current rate of rent and find our own bills (which we have already worked out would be £160 cheaper over the course of the year).

    Many thanks

  • Do I need a cover letter to go with my CV?

Hi, I'm 16 and going to go and apply for some retail jobs in town tomorrow. Do I need to hand each one in with a covering letter or should I just hand the Cv in alone? Thanks

  • Should I apply for a retail job which says they would like past experience?

I m 16, and looking for my first job (still) and I ve come across a job that fits the hours I can do perfectly, and in a great location and store I love. The only problem is that the job listing says "Have previous experience of working in a fast paced retail environment".

I have worked taster shifts in retail stores in what I d say was a high pace environment, and I have done work experience in logistics departments at a local Air Force base.

Is it still worth my time trying to apply or does that one requirement shut me out straight away? Thanks for your answers

  • I cannot focus my telescope on anything?

I have a Celestron 130EQ reflector telescope and I ve had it for 3 years now. I have never had an issue with it, but today I ve come back to it (after several months of not using it) and even the simplest of things are out of focus. I am still using the same set of eyepieces as what I was before, so they work fine.

The extent of the blur is that when I twist the focus wheel, I can see it is getting more focused but I cannot achieve the full focus. Not only is this happening with just my eye viewing something, but my camera also picks this blur up.

Can someone please suggest what nay be wrong or how to solve it? Thanks

  • Are leather jackets treated to make them water resistant (weather proof)?

Hi, I'm looking at buying myself a genuine leather jacket after Christmas, because my current synthetic leather jacket (which I've had for almost 3 years) is starting to show wear.

I'll put a link to the jacket I'm looking at below, but I'm wondering whether it would already be treated to so I can wear it when it rains; I know leather and water don't mix. I cannot specifically see on the website if it says it is weather proof, but the jacket does have a hood, which makes me wonder still.

    Thanks any help!

  • I can't stop blushing?

Are there any physical treatments that can be done to prevent blushing. It's becoming a serious problem where people are picking up on my red face. Most of the time, I'm not even embarrassed, it just happens when I talk to people.

  • Why does Flickr not show my Photostream?

I have 252 photos on my photostream, and I can see any of them. It has been working fine until now and I can't view them on my laptop, iPhone or iPod.

For some reason however, I can view them on the 'Camera Roll' in Flickr.

    Anyone know what's up?

  • When is it best to book flights?

Ok, so I have done some research us websites now, however none give me a solid answer to believe. Some sites tell me "50 - 100 days prior to departure", some say "3 - 6 months before", and some say to book it "a year in advance".

I'm looking to book a flight for the summer in 2016, quite far off but I'd like to know if I should be waiting until early 2016 or be booking it in 2015 for the best price.

    Thanks for your answers.

  • What does this mean (looking for first job)?

I am 15, looking to get a job. I found a company that would take me on, however I don't know what this means:

    "20 Hours over 5 days Mon - Sun must be flexible 6.00am - 7.00pm"

When it says I need to be 'flexible', does that mean ANY time of the day, or between certain hours because I can only do after school/college which would mean I am only available from 3:30 - 7:00pm.

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks.

  • Can I buy alcohol online if under aged (read description)?

I must exaggerate the alcohol is NOT for me. For Christmas, I am trying to buy a personalised engraved wine glass for my mum, however the company who does it only sells these glasses with wine in the set. I am 15 with an under 19's visa debit, will I be able to buy it or do I have to go elsewhere?

    Thanks.

  • How long does a book signing last?

I know they can vary, but would you have a rough idea based on similar popularity in how long one may last for Sir David Attenborough? He is doing one in my town starring at 12:30, but my mum (who wants to meet him) doesn't finish work until 5.

I was planning in running to the signing after school, but even I wouldn't get there until about 3:30.

How long do you think it will last? Thanks

  • Will this website accept my Debit card?

I want to buy something off a website, but in the terms & conditions it says they don't sell to under 18s. I am 15, and just got my debit card (that is called an under 18's card by my bank), but my mum signed it and had to put her details down when I applied for it. So if I try and buy what want, will the website reject my card or will it still work as my parent signed it?

(I'm new to all this, I don't know how things work.)

    Thanks in advance.

  • How to remove music from YouTube video?

There is a particular video I want to monetize, however I realised I used the wrong music, and rather than using the copyright free version, I used a copyrighted one. The video does NOT have any copyright notices pointing it out, but I know it is the wrong version.

The video only features the music for a few seconds, whereas in another video I used it for the full length and it was marked as a notice for copyright.

How can I remove the small section of music from my video (with no copyright notice) without taking the video off and re-uploading it?

  • What do rats like more than poison?

Weird question I know, but I have a problem. My neighbours (without consulting us about it) have apparently found rats running around our gardens. They have got some poison right next to a hole in our fence where they go between.

However, my issue is we also have hedgehogs walking through that same hole. They have placed the poison right next to it, and I fear the hedgehogs and rats will eat the poison and die. I love hedgehogs, and have made a great local population (we have a good sized hedgehog family), but this poison could kill them which worries me.

I have humane traps next to the hole, so is there anything I can bait the traps with that the rats or hedgehogs will find more attractive to eat than the poison? I know trapping hedgehogs is not a good idea, but it's better than having them eat the poison.

Any suggestions please are welcome. Thanks.

    What breed is my Rabbit?

We have had her for nearly 4 years, and we still don't know what breed she is or if she is a cross breed.

She has a golden brown coat with a white belly. The ends of her feet are all white. She has a white nose and has a small white marking on the top of her head between her eyes.

If anyone has any clue what breed she could be, I would be very grateful. Thanks.
