  • What's a good way to price items for a garage sale?

It's been many years since I've had a garage sale, but have quite a bit to get rid of and was thinking about doing a sale.

What are some good hints about doing a garage sale?

    How do I price items.

    ie:

I have a bunk bed, solid maple, with drawers underneath, and the mattresses - fairly new... New was several hundred. How much now.

    1 year old mower.

    large snow blower.

    stuffed animals.

Do I price things at 50% of what I purchased it for?

    any HELP would be appreciated.

  • 3 year old, painting pictures on the bathroom wall with their poo, what do you do?

There have been several incidents of people that I've spoken to lately where their 3-5 year olds have gone to the bathroom, had a bowel movement, then used the BM to make pictures on the wall. My neighbor just came over and said that her 3 year old did it today with a friend at pre-school and the little girl has been suspended from school for a day. I think that this is more punishment for the parents then the kid. But how do you handle something like this. Besides missing school what is a good consequence for doing something like this. When my neighbor started telling me the story I laughed, only because at the school where I work a few kindergartners did this a few days ago, and the mom of one of the boys said that it's been happening at her home but she didn't know which one of her kids had been doing it... until now.

To me this is just too gross!

Why are these kids doing this?

    What are good consequences?

What do you say to them?

  • Have you used your spouses/partners toothbrush?

You probably kiss them, and might share a bite from their fork, but do you sometimes use your spouses toothbrush.

Like you go for a weekend away and forgot yours...

  • Geocaching - what's a talking stick?

Is it just a writing utensil (pen or pencil)? Or is it something else? This is usually written on a micro type cache.

  • If 'trust' is the fruit of a loving relationship, then is your relationship fruitful?

there is love, like I 'love' ice cream, and a lust for another person with out regard for their feelings.

then there is loving, where you care for and about the other person.

    kind of like this:

Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking.

It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

    Love never fails.

  • If you could re-live a day, which day would it be?

Would it be a day that was so great that you'd want to experience it again, or a day that was bad that you'd want to change something. If you wanted to change it, what would you change?

  • What is your families favorite Easter tradition?

my kids decorate their eggs, first with color crayons (the wax doesn't let the dye stick) then we dye them. The Easter Bunny hides them according to their age/abilities (youngest might have them out where she can find them, oldest has to look in things like the cupboard and closet, etc). If they find an egg that is not theres, they have to leave it right there.

I love the blue deviled eggs (made with blue cheese in the stuffing and not blue egg dye!) and fresh warm potato salad.

  • Do you know how to find Orion in the night sky?

Right now 'GLOBE at Night' is conducting a sky quality survey of the sky. They are looking for people who will go outside between now and next Saturday night, one hour after sun set, find Orion, count the stars, then log what they observed on the website.

    Their web addres is: http://www.globe.gov/GaN/

They ask people in the Northern Hemisphere to find Orion and count the stars in the constellation - the web site has a chart to help find Orion and figure out the sky quality in your area.

In 2007 they had 8490 participants, in 2008 they had 6838 participants. 2009 is the International Year of the Astronomer and we're trying to get people outside and looking up at the stars.

Could you help? Could you do this in the next week? Let's see if we can get even bigger numbers of participants this year!
