  • Probably easy 4 wheeler question?

There's a 1988 Honda Fourtrax 300 4 wheeler listed for 450 on craigslist that I am thinking of buying, its got a little bit of plastic damage, but the only thing as far as problems with running are the choke cable is missing, but he still has it. He says he has no problems starting it up. How hard or expensive is something like that to replace? I don't need exact numbers, but am I talking 100 or 500? Or is it just a horrible deal overall? any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Medical question in need?

Ok so I'm not used to posting in this section but I have a predicament that I really need some answers to. Basically ill state what I know. My best friend was admitted to the hospital a week ago with chest pain. In Houston we have a great cancer center md Anderson. He's about to move in there but in the underlying cause for him seeking help was chest pain, but it turns out his cancer was testicular. spread to his lungs and liver. From this, I gather that his is in a very late stage. The last update I have found he is tryin to fight it but his chemo is bein administered daily which is obviously not normal. Usually doctors give a time frame on people that are this late but I don't know one.... I've done research but it never hails an answer. I understand he caught it late but honestly I don't think he has much time left. We Are doing whAt we can. But what should I do? Treat him as my best friend? Act like nothing has happened? I know it's bAd but should I be seeing him every day? Week? I'm just rehang to ask: what's the best thing I can do for him

  • Concealed Carry Incident/Ethics Question?

Ok, So I'll try to give as much necessary detail as possible without going overboard. I carry a Ruger LCP. I was driving to a freeway intersection and pulled up in the left turn lane as the light turned red. It's typically a relatively long light 30+ seconds. I see a homeless man walking up to the window of the car in front of me, and get denied money. He man in the car in front of me was black, as was the bum. (Yes, race is important in this issue). I'm white. My windows are down, and typically most bums are harmless, tell you that God loves, you, etc, and I occasionally hand them a dollar, couple quarters, whatever. Basically, I felt it would be disrespectful to roll up my window. So as he approaches, I just kinda shake my head. Evidently he didn't take kindly to that. I don't remember the exact exchange, but it was along the lines of him accusing me of being racist because I didn't wanna help him out. I replied that I don't have any money. Then, he takes out a dollar bill and starts waving it in my face, saying "I guess I got more money than you now, don't I.... blah blah blah,...." To which I replied, well, I'm the one in the vehicle, you're the one on the street. Whatever. Just S**T talking, no big deal. Then, he becomes irate. He starts screaming at me "YOUR THE F****N N****R to me!... and then just starts chanting N****R in my face.

At this point, I wasn't really as angry as I was embarrassed, mainly for him. Then I told him to chill out. He was standing on the median, and then approaches my truck... approximately 1-2 feet and starts yelling in my face. At this point I grip my LCP just in case, and told him to back away from the truck. So he KICKS my truck on the driver side door, and gets ALMOST in my window (I'm thinking maybe close enough to have caught his head in the window if i rolled it up.... it all happened so fast I don't know exactly) any starts chanting N****R, at which point I drew my pistol and racked the slide, obviously ending the situation, and within seconds later, the light changed to green.

I believe I was fully justified in withdrawing my firearm. My rationale is that an irate homeless person that has already gotten physical with my truck and is obviously in knife range makes me uncomfortable enough to pull my weapon.

Upon arrival to my destination, I tell my two friends (also white) of the situation and learn that he has also given them trouble, also without intentionally escalating the situation.

Anyway, when I get home I am scolded by my live-in girlfriend for drawing without an "immediate threat". What could I have done differently? (I'm guessing roll up my window, but that probably would have pissed him off too)

What would you have done differently?

Could I have gotten in any legal trouble for drawing? I don't think so, I feel I was justified, but evidently the gf didnt' think so.

And what REALLY concerns me, is if she was in the same situation!?! I feel I can defend myself, but god help her if she ever had to!

PS sorry this was so lengthy, but I wanted to give as much info as I could. I'd love to hear from everyone of all experience in the matter.
