  • Miscarriage or just a long period?

Ok, I started taking birth control 2 months ago. I had taken it 2 years ago but stopped because it was making me feel sick. Me and my boyfriend don't always use a condom because, well, I'm on the pill. I take it every day at almost the same time every day just like it says. About 2 or 3 weeks ago I was riding my horse around, he was being pretty lazy so I started running him. Well he got spooked and bucked forward and threw me pretty hard. I ended up hurting my back but that was about it. 2 days later I had some bloody/mucus discharge. It really scared me. I wasn't due for my period for another 2 weeks. It didn't really go away either. It seemed to be pretty light, except if we had sex. It wasn't really bothering me, then I got what I thought was my period, except it was very light and instead of 4 days it lasted 8, I thought it was over until today when I got home from working. I had cramps so bad that they were taking my breath away. I am very used to horrible cramps but this was a new extreme for me. I have never had cramps like this. My boyfriend was freaking out. He asked if that could be a side effect of a pregnancy while on the pill so I decided to look it up. Everything that I read said that my symptoms are that of a miscarriage. I am in a dead panic right now. Can someone, preferably someone who has gone through a similar situation or a doctor, tell me what is going on. I didn't think it was possible until I started thinking about getting thrown off the horse

  • Extreme Back Pain?

I have a thoroughbred gelding that is 18 hands tall (thats about 6 foot at the shoulder). I was out riding him today and in the middle of trotting he came to a dead stop and dropped his head down which threw me over top of him and made me drop over 6 feet onto my lower back.

At first I tried to get up and there was a sharp stabbing pain, then my boyfriend started freaking out and running over to me so I got up and said I was fine.

My pain did not go away though. I tried walking it off and that just seemed to make it worse. I can not hold any weight on my left leg without having that stabbing pain. Getting in and out of my truck hurts so bad. So does leaning forward or laying flat. I feel fine when I sit upright in a chair though, just as long as I don't shift my weight too much. I have insurance so I can go to the doctor if I have to but I don't want to go unless I know for sure that there is a major problem. Can someone tell me what they think? There is no pain in my legs, it's all in my lower back but only when I move my left leg or shift my hips at all.

  • Weight Booster vs. Beet Pulp?

My thoroughbred has trouble keeping on weight during the winter. He usually picks up weight again during summer though so this won't need to be forever. Right now he is on a basic 12% protein sweet feed but he is pretty skinny. We tried boosting his lyscine intake but he just lost more weight so we switch back. While at the TSC today I decided to look at the different things they had to offer. I have been told that beet pulp is good for putting weight on a horse but they also had a weight booster. The weight booster would last Joey 40 days and would have to be mixed with his feed. The beet pulp is a 40 pound bag that would last about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks.

Which would be more beneficial for him? I want to put weight on him. I don't mind if he ends up a little on the fat side, I ride often and could take care of that easily. But I can't really ride now because he is so uncomfortable. Should I get him the weight booster or the beet pulp? Or even both? He'll also have free choice coastal hay.

  • Messed up my foot and need some advice.?

Ok, long story short, I work with cows and the other day I had an 800 pound heifer jump onto my foot and headbutt me to the ground. My foot became very swollen and red within minutes. At first I could bear a little bit of weight on it but it quickly became so bad that I could not stand. I have now been on crutches for 4 days and can only walk on the inside of my foot. I can not put any weight on the outer side of my foot and I can not role it when I walk. About 50% of my foot is a light blue/green color from a bruise. I can't even wear my lace up boots because they slightly push on it and even a little bit of pressure on that side of my foot is very painful. I don't think it's broken but can someone tell my what they think I did and what I should do? I have been icing it and keeping it elevated as much as I can but it is still swollen and painful and doesn't seem to be getting better

  • Sheep with an old scab?

Ok, there was a sheep at my high school that got attacked my sophomore year, it has now been 2 years and I decided to adopt the sheep and bring her onto my farm. The only problem is that she has been let go for so long. She was attacked in the field while giving birth. A pack of wild dogs killed her two lambs and began to eat her alive. They took a chunk of her hind end and we were sure she would die. We cleaned her up and decided to give her a week, if she wasn't doing any better we would put her down. Well things turned around for her and she started making progress. Once she was able to be off medicine she was sent back out into the field.

That was the last time anyone touched her. Two years later and she still has a huge scab on her back that is where the scar should be. It is at least an inch thick and is pretty much solid as a rock. It actually looks like a very large chestnut on a horse. Does anyone know how to get rid of this? Her fur is growing, just not where the scab is.

  • Wanting to lift my truck?

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger EXT that I want to lift. I am looking at getting a 3" body lift kit but I don't now where to get one. There are so many different websites out there that sell lifts but I don't know what kind of lift to get or where to get it from. Also I was wondering if it would be smarter to take it to a shop to lift it or if I should see if someone will do it for me?

  • How much should my dog weigh and how much should he eat?

I have a 2 year old purebred Border Collie that we got as a baby, he was only 3 months old when I got him. The people had been over feeding him so he was over weight. with time we got him down to a healthy weight but now I am concerned. He is big for his breed, he is 22 inches tall and 22.5 inches long which is on the high end for his breed. At the age of one and all the way until recently he has weighed in at 55 pounds but he was healthy, going for runs every day and walks every night. We moved about 4 months ago and now he has a huge yard to run in, although he still goes for walks and runs. I recently noticed a change in his appearance though, he looks thin and through the plush fur you can almost feel his ribs, he eats 4 cups of food a day though so its not like he isn't being fed. he went from being 55 pounds to 48 pounds in 5 months. The first thought was worms but I haven't noticed any. I was just wondering if I should rush to get him to the vet or if I should wait a week to see if things get better? I am going to the store in a minute to get him some canned food to mix in with the dry food, it may not bee very fair to my other dogs but I think he needs the extra protein and junk that stuff has to offer.

  • 1999 ford ranger questions?

First of all I would just like to say I love my truck. I bought it the other day and for a 99' with almost 200,000 miles on it, it is the best =). I wanted to know if someone can tell me what kind of seat it has though, its an extended cab with flip down seats in the back and the doors open up to climb in. but the front seat is kinda weird. the passenger seat it regular and the driver seat extends over and is connected to the middle flip down seat/ center console. what would these seats be called? I want to go out and get seat covers for it but there are different kinds and I don't know which one to get.

  • I need a couple of good songs for a play list?

I have been fighting all week with this guy that I am, or was, with. We got into another fight today and I have decided that I am done with all the bull$hit and drama. I want to make a play list on my phone of some fast paced and upbeat songs. They can be about break ups or getting back at people, I don't really care, I just want a loud and fast song that you can understand. No scream or heavy metal.

  • How much would it cost to fix or can it stay like that?

Im looking at a truck right now for sale (its a 1997 f150 with a 13-inch lift kit) and it seemed to be in good shape but then I found out that there is no front drive shaft, U joints went out and it broke, but the truck runs and drives still. Is this something that I would have to get fixed? If so, how much do you think it would cost? The truck is $4,000 already, is it even worth the money?

  • My sister is hanging out with my ex-boyfriend... Should I just forget about it?

We were together for about 3 monthes (I know that's not a very long time but we were really close) my sister didn't like him at first but she started to warm up to the idea of me and him. About 3 monthes ago me and him started fighting a lot and broke up so my sister stopped talk to him. I just found out that she started talking to him again and wants to start hanging out with him. The thing is, he wants what every 18 year old wants... I also know that my sister is willing to give him that. (I know that sounds REALLY bad but it's true) she says she won't but my sister is a known liar. How should I handle this situation??? It would kill me if she did that but I don't want to say 'i don't want you hanging out with him'

  • How would you respond to this?

Ok so me and my ex were together for about 3 monthes (I'm 16, he is 18) He used to come over and hang out over at my house. When I first started hanging out with him my sister (18) didn't like him at all. She didn't trust him, she didn't want me hanging out with him and she didn't like him coming over. She started to see he wasn't a bad guy and was ok with him. 3 monthes ago everything blew up, me and him were fighting all the time and stopped talking. The past month has been the worst because I have to see him everyday. Yesterday my sister was texting all day, finally she looks up at me and asks "would it bother you if I start hanging out with ****?" I kind of just looked at her for a minute. She knew about everything, the relationship that we had, the fighting that ended it all, and the hell I'm going through everyday. I told her I wouldn't care and she said ok and went back to texting him. I also told her that if she is gonna start hanging out with him that I want to know when so I can leave. I can't be around him anymore, it hurts to much. Did I do the right thing?

  • 2000 ford explorer, good or bad?

2000 Ford Explorer. Nice shape and clean.4.0 V6 auto everything.160,000 Miles 4WD and AWD. I am told that it is great on gas but I don't know this as a fact. The truck will be for me (16) and my sister (18). I am about to get my licence and so is she. We are looking for something that is going to protect us incase something ever happens and it has to be able to transport at least 5 people and a border collie and possibly pull a trailor if needed at any point. The truck has been well taken care of and my father told me that as long as I don't speed I shouldn't have a problem with gas prices. What do you think? Have you ever had this kind of truck? Any pointers of a first truck? (please no trashing fords because I personally like their trucks and cars)

  • Slashed open my mouth?

Today my little brother thought it would be funny to drop my 55 pound border collie into my above ground pool. My dog started to freak because he has never been in this situation before and with the fear of him ripping the pool liner I grabbed him. He is very big for his breed but he started to calm down a little when I grabbed ahold of him. Then my brother came over and it scared him really bad. He tried to swim away but I was infront of him, he brought up his paw to paddle and I didn't have time to move. His paw came strait down my face from the top of my nose to my chin. I was shocked at first and then I felt the pain. Not only had his nails cut my face but it had caut my lip and riped it all the way open, from the crease to the top of my bottom lip. It was sliced open really bad and took a while to stop bleeding. Now I can't really talk(I have a cotton ball in between my teeth and my lower lip) and I can't eat anything. I don't really know what to do about it cause I know your not supposed to sleep with a cotton ball in your mouth. Can someone tell me what to do, how to stop the pain, and what is the fastest way to make it heal? We thought I might need stitches but we decided to wait to see what happens first. Plus I don't really want to walk around with a hole in my mouth, two scars on my face, and a busted lip.

  • Question about a Pregnant cat?

So about 2 monthes ago my grandmother (who I live with) was given a young cat from someone she worked with. The cat had been dumped at her house and didn't get along with her other cat. My grandmother had promised me she would get the cat fixed because she was an outside cat. For a while the cat was really good. She stays around the house, stays away from cars, and is always home when it is dark. I never noticed her go into heat, the only time she was vocal was when it was time for diner. But resently I have noticed her belly growing, you can see that she has a full belly even when she is not right next to you. I thought it might just be worms but she even has milk now. I don't know how far along she is and I'm not even 100% sure she is pregnant because I have always had fixed cats. Can someone help me out? I'm not bringing her to the pound because I can take care of her and the babies and I know people that are willing to take in some kittens. I just need to know what your thoughts are on the situation and how far along you think she might be so I can prepare for them if she is.
