My cat has fought with the neighbor's cat?
My neighbor (4 houses down) has 3 cats, 2 of which are outside cats. She won't keep them inside because one of them pees on her grate. It's the other one who has fought with my cat. I guess both of them sometimes get injured in these fights, although for the last month I haven't seen any scratches on my cat.
Anyway, she wants me to keep my cat inside at night. This makes my cat very unhappy, and he gives very sad meows. He's been known to tear down screens, so when the weather turns warm keeping him inside may be difficult.
What is your advise?

the Israeli soldier shooting a blindfolded, handcuffed prisoner in the foot?
The soldier received no punishment, however, he was arrested briefly after the incident became public. According to the soldier, he'd been ordered to shoot the prisoner. The father had been committing the "crime" of peacefully protesting the confiscation of his village's land.

10 AnswersIsrael1 decade agoWill the CAMERA people be "socialized" into the wikipedia "Neutral Point of View?" (NPOV)?
This, apparently, is the attitude Wikipedia has towards an effort by pro-Israel activists at CAMERA who call for "volunteers who can work as 'editors' to ensure" that Israel-related articles on Wikipedia are "free of bias and error, and include necessary facts and context."
http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article9474.shtml
I posed the question under wikipedia (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Av9ZH...
Note carefully the "context" CAMERA types provide, which tends to be that Arabs who kill Jews do so because they're fanatic racist haters of Jews, while Zionists always offer compensation when they confiscate land from Arabs and only kill innocent people accidently while taking this land. Personally I've found few wikipedia entries on Israel/Palestine without similar slant. I think if wikipedia takes this attitude, they're ignoring the dedication by the pro-Israel crowd to putting out Israeli hasbera & smearing Arabs
8 AnswersIsrael1 decade agoWhat does wikipedia do about organized efforts to slant entries?
I've noticed this effort myself, for example, a list of "massacres" in 1947-1949 in Palestine used to list only those over 10 people but someone updated it to list all the "massacres" of Jews over 2 people, leaving out most massacres of Arabs of the same size -slanting the data pro-Israel. Its clear that the Camera people have no intention of freeing wikipedia of bias.
http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article9474.shtml :
"A 13 March action alert signed by Gilead Ini, a "Senior Research Analyst" at CAMERA, calls for "volunteers who can work as 'editors' to ensure" that Israel-related articles on Wikipedia are "free of bias and error, and include necessary facts and context." However, subsequent communications indicate that the group not only wanted to keep the effort secret from the media, the public, and Wikipedia administrators, but that the material they intended to introduce included discredited claims that could smear Palestinians and Muslims and conceal Israel's true history."
2 AnswersWikipedia1 decade agoDo you agree with the writer interviewed in haaretz that one of Israel's founding myths is largely false?
And, known by the early Zionists to be less than true somewhat deliberately fostered by them in order to establish a claim to the Palestinian territory in which Israel was created?
Quote from http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/966952.html:
' "After being forcibly exiled from their land, the people remained faithful to it throughout their Dispersion and never ceased to pray and hope for their return to it and for the restoration in it of their political freedom" - thus states the preamble to the Israeli Declaration of Independence. This is also the quotation that opens the third chapter of Sand's book, entitled "The Invention of the Diaspora." Sand argues that the Jewish people's exile from its land never happened. '
Historical evidence seems to indicate that a substantial if not major proportion of the ancestors of today's Jews didn't originate in the area now occupied by Israel: the Sephardic Jews were originally Berber converts and E. European Jews from Khazar
15 AnswersIsrael1 decade agoDo you think Israel is continuing its ethnic cleansing by siege, adminstrative and bureaucratic means?
The Israeli police "limit the amount of meat that a resident can bring in" !!
"... the restrictions have paralyzed economic life in the village, which was dependent on farming and live stock. The prohibition on bringing in goats and chickens, as well as farm equipment, and the arbitrary restrictions on bringing in fodder (such as the demand to empty the sacks to inspect the contents), have gravely harmed this economic sector." ...
"The nature of the restrictions raises concern that the state seeks to force the residents to leave the village and move to villages on the “Palestinian” side of the barrier."

3 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoIs there a "National Emergency" warranting Bush freezing funds of supporters of Lebanon opposition parties?
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/08/20...
In this "executive order," Bush claims that support of opposition to the Lebanese government is a threat to the national security of the US. Do you agree, if so why?
For those who agree, what is the "National Emergency" which threatens the US?
Note that the order includes support of violent opposition to th e Lebanese government, but does not exclude non-violent, political opposition, and explicitly includes anything that would contribute to political instability.
Would you object if, say, the Russian government threatened to "freeze" the property of anyone contributing to the opposition parties in the US, i.e. the Democrats, Libertarians, Greens or other parties, or anyone holding a non-violent demonstration against Bush policies?
Persons opposing this Bush executive order are also welcome to comment...
5 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade ago54% of the US public support impeachment of Cheney. What % of the public supported Clinton's impeachment?
Also, 45% support the impeachment of Bush. I just caught these figures from tonights Bill Moyer's journal
http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/07132007/profile...
The show gave a substantial overview of Clinton's impeachment. Then Bill Moyers discussed impeaching Bush/Cheney with a conservative legal scholar Bruce Fein and leftwing "The Nation" correspondent John Nichols. Both supported impeachment on the grounds that by setting himself above the law, Bush (and Cheney) endanger the U.S. constitution. Besides answering the % question, does anyone have comments?
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWas Israel's destruction of Mosques in villages within the 1948 borders justified?
http://www.imemc.org/article/49356
Supporters of Israel complain vehemently about desecration of synagogues by Palestinians, for example ones in Gaza (http://www.honestreporting.com/articles/45884734/c... Yet it seems that Israel conducted wholesale, state-sponsored eradication of mosques in 1948 and subsequently. (This in addition to the eradication of the Palestinian inhabitants of pre-1948 Israel). Could those who objected to the destruction of the Gaza synagogues built since 1967 outside the territory of Israel (illegal under international law), please explain why they find it acceptable for Israel to destroy hundreds of mosques, some of them over 1000 years old?
11 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhat do people think about PBS only showing documentaries on Israel/Palestine sympathetic to Israel?
For example,
http://www.pbs.org/ombudsman/2007/06/versions_of_a...
Apparently, PBS requested some scenes removed from the version it showed, namely those showed Palestinians being expelled and whole neighborhoods destroyed after 1967. Can we trust the narration that blames so much of the conflict on the Arab states? Also in light of the fact that the director was an Israeli, whose view of history is likely influenced by the version taught him by his government?
