Taking suggestions on how to get rid of the restrictor plate At Daytona and Talladega.?
The goal: keep the speeds under 200mph and still allow car set-up and driver ability to decide the winner.
Rev (limiter) chips cause the cars to jerk when they hit the rev.
Hard tires, but are too dangerous on the handling side.
Take away rear down force making the cars too hard to drive.
Higher gear, but the motors will blow, but yet that may do it.
Put a giant wicker on the cars, but that would look goofy.
Any suggestions? Remember, you have to keep the speeds under 200mph because we can’t have any cars getting in the stands and you have to make the competition close.
Signed, desperate NASCAR competition director…haha
Oh yeah, changing the track is not an option.
16 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoOf all of the primary sponsors in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series?
Which sponsor do you purchase the most from and did their involvement in the sport influence your decision to buy their product and/or shop with them?
17 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoDid you see Tony Stewart was at Barrett-Jackson (on Speed Channel)?
He said he came straight from Daytona testing to be there tonight.
If you had Tony’s money to spend would you be like a kid in a candy store?
I’d personally be looking at a ‘69 Camaro 396 SS/RS.
What would you spend some of Tony’s money on?
21 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoWho’s the current “bad-boy” driver in NASCAR?
Which driver do the others most hate to see in their mirror, most likely to get black-flagged for rough driving and/or warrant a trip to the big yellow trailer after the race?
40 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoWho’s your “dark horse” pick for 2008?
Which driver in NASCAR (Cup Series) has been flying under the radar, is new or is generally underrated who might be a surprise threat like Bowyer was in 2007 and why are they your pick?
37 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoYou can hire/sponsor open wheel drivers with no stock car experience coming into the Cup Series in NASCAR, but
The car has to run without sponsor decals for the first full season.
Take away the sponsor’s marketing appeal of hiring an open wheel driver over an established Cup or up through the ranks stock car rookie driver by letting them pay the bills for a season with no advertising benefit.
What do you think? Would that change the roster of drivers just a little? Is this something legitimate that NASCAR could do to restore the balance a little?
8 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoIf Mercedes had been the first foreign manufacturer to come into NASCAR?
Do you think they would have been received better or worse than Toyota?
They have a lot more credibility with their race program, but they do not build near as many cars in the U.S. as Toyota does.
The name is more prestigious and would lend international credibility to NASCAR, but does the sport need that?
Does German vs. Japanese make a difference?
What are your thoughts on this?
8 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoNASCAR Drivers as Role Models?
Of The current NASCAR Sprint Cup Drivers, who do you think is the best role model, who's the worst and why to both?
33 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoBesides Dale Jr. which other driver do you think is glad 2007 is OVER?
Just any driver who had a bad season and is looking forward to 2008.
Happy New Year!
35 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoDo you think this would be a good song to have with a NASCAR video?
I was listening to it and thought it would be cool to have a NASCAR compilation video set to it. What do you think?
311 Down
6 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoDo you think there would have been more or less criticism of the Cup regulars running in the Busch Series if?
Dale Jr. would have run the entire Busch season and won the championship in a close points battle with Edwards.
There would have been more TV viewers, more ticket sales, more sponsorship exposure, etc..
What do you think?
20 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoWhen talking NASCAR with someone, does it bother you when?
Mine is when you hear someone refer to the acronym of NASCAR as the vehicle in which the drivers compete in, such as: “It’s a nas-car” or even worse when you hear the ever gut-wrenching “nas-truck“, does it sort of take away their credibility of knowing anything at all about the sport? This is a pet peeve question. What’s yours?
26 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoDo you think Goodyear should bring a softer compound tire or leave it alone?
Most of the drivers are complaining about not having enough grip and the issue is compounded with the ill-handling COT. Do you think the racing would be better if the cars handled better or would you rather see a driver having to "wheel" a car and drive it on the edge?
15 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoIsn't Beer Awesome (special Saturday night question)?
Wouldn't it be great if every car in NASCAR was sponsored by a beer company? They would be trying so hard to get noticed amongst the competition that they would have a beer war and give their products away for free.
Not to worry non-beer-likers, they would accomodate you as well trying to win over all fans by giving away free wine, cokes and hot dogs as well as free tickets to the race. A beer filled society is a happy society. Ben Franklin said that beer is proof that God wanted man to be happy. Cheers! and Merry Christmas!

16 AnswersNASCAR1 decade agoWhat Beer Company Would Be Cool to Have as a Sponsor in NASCAR?
Besides Miller, Bud or Coors. Think about their logos, etc. and which brand would have the best looking paint scheme (I'm thinking Guinness would look cool).
Of course this question could also be what's your favorite beer?
