Jesus didn't promise a Christian's life to be easy. There will be trials and temptation on the way. So how do you defeat these temptations and live through the trials? With the strength that you get through fellowship with the Lord. Stay close to God, especially when going through hard times.

  • Should I let this occasional thumb sucking go?

My child is 3 1/2. Since birth she used her thumb to fall asleep. Her thumb is associated with her blanket, bedtime-> blanket-> thumbsucking. As soon as she falls asleep the thumb comes right out. Always been a great sleeper.

Last month I decided is a good time to try weaning her off the thumb so I placed a band-aid on the thumb she sucks for her naps and bed time. I did this consistently for a month (around 5 weeks). Her sleep changed a lot, she cried every time it was bed time, she cried that she didn’t want to sleep, she stayed up for a long time. I regret ruining her perfect sleep but I kept doing the band-aid thing that whole month. I read it takes 2 weeks to break that habit but I wanted to make sure it was broken so I did longer. Anyways, at the end of the 5 weeks she finally realized she had the other thumb and started sucking it.... I was wondering why this child suddenly stopped crying and was excited to go to sleep lol.

Should I let it go? She sucks her thumb for about 5-10 mins before falling asleep, never during the day or for random comfort. Her teeth are as straight as straight could be and perfectly aligned. I just don’t know if I should continue with the weaning or just let it go?

  • How old are you and how old do you actually feel?

I think its very interesting how an 60 year old woman can feel like she is 25, and vise versa. Whats your age, how old do you feel though and why do you think that is?

I am 25 but i still feel like i am 17. Probably because of my personality- jolly, laughy, energetic.

  • Shifting baby's longest stretch of sleep?

My 3 month old's longest stretch of sleep (7hours) is from around 5pm-12. I tried waking her oup at 7pm to feed again and then play for an hour and then bedtime at 8, but then she doesn't do the long stretch anymore, but wakes up every 3 hours. Should I keep doing that an maybe she will get used to it and sleep the long stretch after 8? My husband and I go to bed early (9ish 10) and my older child goes to bed at 8 so i want the baby and toddler in bed at the same time.

  • Flat reclining strollers?

By flat reclining I mean 180 degree flat, so a newborn can comfortably sleep in it (not a bassinet basket though but a regular stroller)and not the "145 degree "flat reclining" position which most strollers have.

I can't seems to find many. Except the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe seems to be flat.

If you know of any please do share your knowledge ;)

    Thanks!

  • How many Christians listen to secular music?

    Yes or no

Why do you think it's okay or not okay for a Christian to listen to worldy music?

As for me, I don't. Because that music is satan's industry, it doesn't help me grow spiritually but completely the opposite, if Christ was beside me He wouldn't be impressed with the music.

    Thanks for the answers! :)

Oh and I don't mean at work or at walmart where you have NO choice, this is purposeful listening.

  • What does it mean to exclusively wear your baby?

I've read one mother say how she exclusively wore her baby.

What does that mean? Why do you do it, for bonding?

Do you wear the baby all the time, at home and out of home? Of course not 24/7 and not at night.

    please explain :)

For how long do you wear your baby (age wise)

Maybe I'll try that with my 2nd

    Thanks!

  • How many Christians actually experience the passion for Christ?

The Bible says many things about loving God with all your heart, strength, mind... About God wanting us to have abundant life, about not being conformed to this world but being filled with the Spirit and doing the will of God.

Do you ever feel like you are missing out on this joy? This passion for Christ, living for Him in purity. Having awesome fellowship with Him, the Holy Spirit living through you. Being about Him not in public but when you are alone in your home, seeking Him, just talking with Him and feeling that connection. Loving Jesus wholeheartedly. It's not something you get by trying harder, it's somethinf you ask God and He gives you. I once spoke with God "Father, I don't want to live like a so-called Christian, I want joy in Christ, I want to love You, to live for You, I want to be strong in Christ, to be led by the Holy Spirit, to be part of Your kingdom, revive and awaken me." Guess what? God did!! It's only by His grace :)

Share your story of revival and of your true Christian and Biblic living! Of strong prayer and living a victorious Christian life, of close fellowship with The Lord and how nothing on earth compares to the joy we get of walking with God.

Of you're still a regular church going Christian, repent, come to God and ask Him to revive you and to make you His true warrior!

    Blessings :))

  • Can you share your miscarriage story?

I am sorry, this isn't a question that brings joy, but if someone doesn't mind sharing their story, I would like to hear how others experienced it.

    Here is my story.

I became pregnant 7 months after my wedding. I felt terrible, I was angry with myself because of how irritated with my husband I became, the one I loved very much. I wasn't feeling good physically either... It just didn't feel right. I talked to God and told Him how "I don't want this, I hate how I am acting, and maybe I am not ready." I was 12 weeks into my preg whenever I woke up with a bloated/heavy belly (my stomach was normally flat and here it was protruding). I felt terrible but I was doing my internship at this time and didn't want to miss my hours. I was working with a bunch of women so I thought I would ask them about this and the lady answered "Hun, you're pregnant, now you will always feel terrible." And they just laughed. That didn't make me feel better because I knew my body and how I normally felt. I worked that almost-12 hour shift and went home with a fever, shivering, and pulse of around 130. After my husband came come I started spotting so I said okay now let's go to the ER. We arrived there and I was bleeding even harder. I came up to the desk and said "where is the restroom? I think I am having a miscarriage." I quickly went to the Br, sat on toilet and the baby came out hanging by the placenta. Perfect human at 12 weeks with a head and body and arms and legs, about 2 inches long...

  • What would be a good blender for smoothies?

Hey :) I need a good blender to make fruit and veggie smoothies. I have a magic bullet, but I would like something more powerful (and not too expensive), where apple&lemon peels, and celery strings wouldn't be so chunky while drinking the smoothie.

    Any advice here?

    Any advice accepted :)

  • 14 month old baby sleep issues?

Okay, ever since birth, this little one has had a hard time falling asleep.

She goes to bed at night just fine and sleeps great (if the day goes well),

Wakes up around 6-8 and goes to bed around 6:30-7

The ONLY time she fell asleep during her naps right away was the whole week after we came back from the ocean and she didn't get enough sleep there, so she was super tired. This was a good week! Lol u out her down for naps and she fell asleep within 5-10 mins.

Now it's back to how it was... After about 2.5-3 hours of being awake, I see that she is tired and put her down, but she doesn't fall asleep. She turns and turns and tries to fall asleep, but can't.

Seems like she can do it only when she is really tired.

So any advice? Should she be having one nap a day now or am I just doing so someching wrong? She had a normal daily schedule/routine :)

    Thanks!

  • What company sells blood transfusion bags?

I need to buy blood transfusion bags which I can then transport out of the U.S to other countries. Most companies have bags that say "in U.S only" or "don't Transport out of U.S" (well something like that). Any place or companies that sells these bags and they can legally be transported?

  • How should baby and I react to daylight savings?

I have a 9 month old, her bedtime routine starts at 6:30 and at 7 she is in bed and soon asleep.

So we just set our clocks 1 hour forward and at 6:30 (it is 5:30 according to old time) and it is sooo bright out! She is used to bedtime being super dark in the room. Well I hung some blankets on the windows to make it darker in the room.

from your own experiences, should I move her bedtime to 8 now? (will be 7 in old time).

    Thanks for your advice!

  • Can't seem to know my 7 month old sleep habits?

I don't know what to do anymore, or what my LO wants anymore. I just don't understand her. She was never a good sleeper since she was born, and no she doesn't have any health issues.

I don't even know how to explain anymore!! lol but man, she slept in her crib just fine until she started crawling around. it used to be a feed/play/sleep routine until that happend. then i was tired of her not falling asleep so i started breastfeeding before her naps. so i braestfeed and then rocked a little and put in crib and rocked again. and then she wouldnt sleep that way so she would be tired but would just crawl and crawl and crawl for 3 hours in that crib! i would come up and comfort her and sshhh and give her a pacifier and she wouldnt sleep unless i held her in the crib so she wouldnt move and then she would calm down.

I just don't get it anymore. HELP ANYONE! If you prefer CIO with this, I don't mind it if you tell me that it worked for your child. So i just let her crawl and crawl until she gets really tired and falls asleep? or do i rock her? She doesn't fall asleep in my arms either so she might as well just be in the crib. anyways, I don't know. any info would be good i guess

    Thanks!!

  • how do I help my 7 month old fall asleep faster?

My LO is about to turn 7mo and has slept in her crib all her life and she was doing a great job until i weaned her off the swaddle (at 6 months) and now she's crawling so she could crawl around for hours even when she is already tired and then gets overtired. her 1st nap is okay, she falls asleep in the crib in about 1-1.5 hours. second nap is impossible and she can be up for 4+ hours and not falling asleep. bedtime is good though. we do the routine and she is in bed by 7, usually 6-6:30 without problem.

how can i teach her that crib is for nap? she doesnt have any toys in there. just pacifier + white noise

  • How can my 6 month old's nights be more regular?

My LO just turned 6 months. Her bedtime is between 7-7:30 and she takes 3 naps a day, 2 naps between 30min-1.5 hours and last one is between 3-5 and about 30 minutes. So the problem is that I try to start a daily routine you know.. waking up at 7 and starting the day, but this never happens because she either wakes up at 1am not tired or 4am wide awake so it takes 1-2 hours to put her back to sleep and then she is tired so she sleeps later in and I am too tired to start a routine at 7. She eats 2 at night (I don't mind this part), and wakes up 3-4 more times other than to eat, especially closer to morning.

I started weaning her off the swaddle 4 days ago, which was actually pretty good knowing the fact that she wouldn't sleep even if her fingers were loose, free and moving lol but anyways that's not the point here.

How can I help her sleep better at night? We do have a consistent bedtime routine.

    Thanks a bunchies!

  • How can I help my 5 month old to sleep better at night?

My LO takes about 3 naps during the day (30 mins to 1:45 hours). She wakes up from her last nap between 4:30-6pm and her bedtime is between 8-8:30pm. We have a bedtime routine and she always falls asleep on her own and in her crib.

Lately, she started sleeping pretty bad through the night, waking up every 1-3 hours. I don't know if she needs to go to the bathroom or what, but she usually goes around 7-8 am.

She also started waking up at 4 am and has a hard time going back to sleep. She sleeps around

5-8 total hours at night (with wakings) which isn't great and leaves me tired too.

Should her bedtime be earlier like 7pm? I am not afraid to not feed her through the night because she gets enough during the day with breastmilk and solids. If she went 7-9 hours sleeping through the night without eating or waking up at around 2 months, she should be fine now. Plus I stared solids at 4 months (pediatrician recommended. Our European mothers start giving pureed foods at 3 months.)
