  • Should I be concerned about Lymes?

I went to a resort about 3 weeks ago and we did a lot of swimming, boating, outdoor stuff, etc. I got some kind of bite on my leg while I was there. I thought it was a misquito but I could be wrong I guess. Anyways, this bite got HUGE, painful, very itchy, hot to touch - and that lasted about 1.5-2 weeks. Now the bump has faded and it looks like a bruise with a scaly patch in the middle. The thing that got me wondering is that since then my legs have hurt, joint and muscle pain, and overall fatigue. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

  • I am a caregiver - how to potty train when the parents aren't consistent?

I take care of my 3 yr old nephew during the day and his parents say we are "potty training" however they are not putting him on the potty, using the charts, even discussing it with him except to say "if you would go on the potty you wouldn't get owies on your butt." once in awhile. As part of our arrangement I provide diapers for their 2 kids with the money I am paid to watch them. They have had him in pull-ups now for about 6 months and I personally think it is getting ridiculous. They think the pull-ups will train their kid, and obviously, it is not working. I think that the pull-ups are a waste of my money, and if he is going to be told "its ok to go poopy in your pants at auntie's house" that he should be in diapers still. And if I am supposed to be training him, why tell him it is ok to go in his pants at my house? I am at my wit's end. I tried to catch him when he went to poop and get him on the toilet for a few days straight, but was told to just leave him. They told me I made him scared to poop at my house and now he holds it in till he gets home and it causes stomach aches, so to tell him he can hide and go in his pants. I don't know what kind of training that is! I successfully trained my own 3yr old, so I am just confused.. . should I just give up until they get more serious about it? Should I tell her that 4-5 pull ups a day is crazy expensive compared to diapers and she will have to start paying for them? I just don't know what to do anymore!!!!

  • Help!! My 8 month old has his days and nights mixed up!!?

My son is 8 months old and he is refusing his bottle during the day and then waking 2-3 times a night, taking 6 oz each time. In the last 14 hours, he has only had 5 oz. He was sick last week, had an ear infection and a sinus infection, but he has been on antibiotics for 5 days now, and seems ok in every other way. I would think his appetite would have come back in full force by now. He is taking his solids, he had 2 1/2 jars today, and some puffs and a few pieces of graham crackers. Before last week, he was eating 4-5 6 oz bottles a day and solids 2-3 times a day; going to bed around 8pm and sleeping till 6-7am without waking. He doesn't have any teeth yet, but doesn't seem overly cranky, or like his mouth is bothering him at all. Any suggestions?

    * the dr said to give him smaller feedings, and give him pedialyte in between bottles - the problem with that is he won't take the bottles, or pedialyte! I have tried different cups too and he won't take them either.

  • How to get my 8 month old back on track . . .?

My son is 8 months old - from 3 months on he has been sleeping through the night and eating well during the day. Well, for the past 2 weeks, he has been waking up to eat once or twice in the night, and during the day is refusing his bottle or only taking a few bites of food here and there. Sometimes I will let him cry and he will fall back asleep, other times he will scream and scream till I go get him. Also, from the night drinking, he is also wetting more in the night, so then he needs to be changed too. How do I get him back on track? I tried holding him off from eating for awhile during the day, to make sure he was really hungry when he got his bottle, but he still only took a couple ounces. Is this normal for a baby around his age? Maybe teething? Any suggestions are appreciated!

ps - due to reflux he has cereal in his bottles (dr's orders), I also feed him solids twice a day, sometimes 3 - the last feeding closer to bed time so he is getting full before bed.

  • Is the message that pops up when you try to sign into Yahoo . . .?

Is that legit? For the longest time, every time I tried to sign in, it wouldn't let me unless I would fill out this form setting my 'secret questions.' If I closed out of Internet Explorer and tired again I could usually sign in after the 2nd or 3rd try, but after a few weeks it would pop up every time. I finally just filled it out to avoid it coming up anymore, but now my mom is saying that was not really Yahoo, it is a phishing thing. Is that true? If it is, how do I fix it? Do I need to start a whole new account?

  • What is wrong with my cat?!?!?

This is a serious question - the details may make you think otherwise, but really, I'm for real!

My cat is 26 lbs. He has been seen by the vet and he is healthy. He doesn't eat too much, he is just a big guy - too big to properly clean himself. We have to take him to the groomers often to get him a bath and a hair cut. I have tried bathing him myself and it just is too hard. Anyways, lately, he has been pooping ALL OVER the room that his litter box is in. We had this problem a couple years back, but got him a ginormous litter box that he would fit well in and he has been fine since . . . until about 2 weeks ago. We clean his box every day, or at least every other, so it isn't that it is too full to go in there. I have no idea why he is all of a sudden doing this after 7 yrs!!! any suggestions? It is bad enough that we gets streaks all over the place since he is too big to clean himself, but now we have double the messes and it is driving us crazy!!!

    Thanks in advance!

  • Question about Walmart Equate hpt's . . .?

Has anyone taken an early result Walmart Equate hpt with the blue lines? Are evap lines common with them? I took 2 yesterday and thought I saw very faint lines but they were kind of grayish. The one I took this morning was a little darker, but still very very faint. After an hour (I know that it isn't valid anymore) I looked at it and it had a thin blue line and the grayish thicker line next to it.

    Here is a pic: http://s105.photobucket.com/albums/m212/khanek82/?...

I'm thinking evap line - but how common are they? any ideas?

  • Can a baby talk at almost 8 months?

My son is just about 8 months old and for awhile now he has been saying "mama." He does his babbling almost all day long, but when I am sitting on the floor with him, he crawls over and says mama. When he falls over he yells mama, and when he is crying he says "maaaamaaaa" until I pick him up. I'm wondering if he is saying it purposely - maybe not knowing what he is saying but knowing that sound gets results? Maybe I just want him to actually be saying it :) What do you think?

  • A question about ovulation . . .?

I have 2 children already, my husband and I are kind of trying - more like not preventing, and it was so hard to get pregnant with my second son. My cycle then was sometimes 60-70 days!!! After I had him it went back to being normal, but pretty long being 35-38 days per cycle. I am not too worried about it, so I don't want to do the basal body temp or opk's - but typically would ovulation occur on the middle day of my cycle, or 14 days before my period is due? Thanks!

  • Question about teething . . .?

I have a 3 yr old son, but it has been so long I forgot! My 7.5 month old son has been teething for weeks now and still nothing :( Poor thing is miserable, not sleeping well, not eating well, very fussy and is normally a very happy little guy . . . anyways, my question is do the top teeth come in in front of the gum, or in the middle of it like the bottom ones do? It looks like there are teeth in his top gums, under the skin and his gums look a little whitish too. There is only a tiny space under these "teeth" that is just his gums. I definitely see the bottom bumps so I know those are coming - does it sound like the top are coming as well? Thanks in advance!

  • My 3 yr old's tooth is looking slightly grey?

I have noticed in the last couple days that my son 's front tooth is looking slightly grey. He is always on the go and it is possible that he may have fallen and hit it, but he hasn't had any bleeding or a fat lip or any other apparent injury to his mouth. His teeth are brushed usually twice a day, and he drinks plenty of milk and has enough calcium. What could be causing this? Thanks in advance

  • Has anyone had a baby that skipped crawling?

My son is just over 7 months old and has totally mastered the army crawl. He does get on his hands and knees and I have seen him do a normal crawl once, but he took three "steps" and plopped down on his belly and proceeded to army crawl across the room. My question is, since he knows how to army crawl so well, will he even need to regular crawl, or want to?

  • How do actors go about recording for animated movies?

Do they each go in and record their own lines and then it is pieced together in editing? Or do they all go in and do it sort of like a script reading so they can react better to each others voices? Just curious! Thanks in advance!

  • I've noticed two red spots on my 7 month old's gums . . .?

My son just turned 7 months and I have suspected that he is teething because he has been pretty cranky and not eating normally for the past couple days. Today I noticed 2 red specks on his gums, one on each side of where his bottom 2 teeth would be. Has anyone seen this before and does it mean the teeth will break through soon? I never noticed this with my first! Thanks in advance.

  • Y&R: If Cane knew he wasn't a Chancellor . . .?

Why did he sue for custody of Deliah? It was explained why he kept going with pretending the baby was his, but when it came out that the baby was Billy's why didn't he just drop it and move on? He went for custody and tried to get Lily involved too . . . did he explain why he took it that far?
