  • Asking someone out?

So there's this guy that I've gotten pretty close to. We've become good friends over the course of the semester and i'm just not sure how I should ask him out. I was thinking of telling him in person one night like in the car so we can talk in private OR writing him a letter and having him read it in with me. Honestly, i've never asked anyone out and i'm nervous. What would be the best way to handle this situation for someone who's new at dating?

  • What should I do about this guy? (please serious answers only)?

There's this guy in my Bio class that I am really interested in. Thing is, i'm not exactly out yet & idk if this guy is gay. I think he is cuz he has neat handwriting, he's shy and quiet, he sits with all bunchgirls in lab, and i've caught him fixing his hair a bunch of times in lab. He always talks to girls in our class (i do this too sorta, which is why I believe he is gay as well as those other qualities I mentioned above). Its awkward b/c we have our moments where we'll stare at each other for a while and look away or I'll always run into him before going to lab or after leaving in the hallway. Its awkward and I really want some advice. What should I do? I'm shy and quiet as well but I do not wanna pass this opportunity up.

  • Pre-Medical Tech/Pre-Nursing?

Hello everyone. I'm considering pursuing a career in either Medical Tech (CLS) or Nursing. As of now, I am a Biology major about to enter my Junior year. I know for both fields I have to take A&P 1/2 as well as Micro. So far for my Bio degree, I have taken Gen Chem, Gen Bio, Cell Bio, and Zoology. My question is, have you guys taken other classes before going into these programs that weren't required but may have helped during your time spent in the Medical Tech or Nursing classes? I'm signed up for Genetics for example in the Fall but may change it since it is not required. But I spoke to someone who told me that they use lots of Genetics in the Med Tech lab. Any opinions, suggestions, or advice you guys could give me regarding extra additional classes that are beneficial and ones that I should not bother with would be a great help. Thank you!

  • Double Major or 1 Major/1Minor?

I'm a Bio major and i'm thinking of getting a Minor in Comp Sci as an extra thing to have under my belt. It's only 5-6 extra classes for me and i'm well ahead of a lot of people I know, so time is not really an issue. I think it would be good since i'd not only learn more about computers, but i'd also be more well rounded and skilled to employers, compared to everyone who just majored in Bio only. Plus these extra CS classes could count as electives for my degree. Which is better? Bio Major and CS Minor or a degree in both? I am a Junior thinking of teaching or do lab or field work with my Bio degree, maybe even go to grad school. And plus I want to have a back up if I can't do anything or change my mind about this plan. So any input would help. Thanks.

  • I'm thinking of retaking General Chem 1 since I got a C in it?

So I made a C in Gen Chem 1 but I made an A in Gen Chem 2 (surprisingly). My Chem 1 professor was too difficult but my Chem 2 professor was better and slightly easier than the first one. I'd like to retake Chem 1 with her this time and try to get an A too. Is this a waste of time? I just think Cs look bad and are ugly.

  • Sophomore Fall Semester of College?

I'm planning on taking Cell Biology, Zoology, Calculus I, & another science course like Anatomy or Botany. The sciences class each have lab and lecture (same professor in both lecture/lab) and they are 300/3000 level courses. Would this be manageable in 1 semester?

I love animals and plants and all of the Organismal Biology stuff. I excelled at in in my General Bio class. I also took Anatomy in high school and despite the fact that it is college Anatomy now, i'm pretty sure I still have a better chance at doing well since I still remember Anatomy stuff and kept all of my notes from high school.

So please any comments, answers, or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  • Major in Biology and Minor in English?

I'm a freshman right now in college and I have passion for Biology. I'm planning on majoring in Biology and I wanna pursue either a teaching career or do work in a lab. At the same time I am really enjoying my English classes. I've gotten As on all my papers in English 1 and 2 and i'm thinking of minoring in English (it only requires 6 more classes). Would this only make me a well rounded individual if I choose to major in Bio while minoring in English? What are the pros and cons to doing this? Thanks.

  • Is this too much to handle in 1 semester?

I',m a freshman biology major and I love biology. I took the wrong bio class (survey of bio) for non-majors so next semester I want to do the real bio classes. The thing is chem is also a corequisite for biology. So this is what I would be taking next semester. What do you guys think? I love bio so I would be really interested and willing to WORK for that class. I'm great at English and okay in Chem.
