7 AnswersRock and Pop9 years agoWould you recommend Reason 4 for making dance/electronic music?
I'm new to trying to make my own electronic music, so I'm just wondering if it's good software in terms of user-friendliness, sampling, not needing add-ons etc?
2 AnswersOther - Music9 years agoHow to start dressing like a "skinhead girl"?
I want to get the "This Is England 84" look, but don't really know what clothes to look out for or where would be best to shop. Would also rather the more androgynous look rather than the female version of skinheads. A lot to ask, but I'm really not very clothes-savvy so any help would be really appreciated, thanks!

4 AnswersClassical1 decade agoProblems applying for j1?
I'm applying for a j1 to work in California for the summer (I'm an Irish third level student) but the online application has asked for the dates that we fly out and the date we start work. There is no way I could know that as the first thing I have to do is apply for the j1. Anybody have any idea what I'm supposed to put down?
1 AnswerImmigration1 decade agoWhat would be a good name for my band?
We play atmospheric metal, along the lines of Mastodon, Opeth and Neurosis. We love names that describe the music well (Mastodon is a good example) and hate names that are a "mouthful" (ie Bullet For My Valentine) so we're hoping for a one-word name, perhaps a disease or mythical/prehistoric animal (while trying to avoid being "cheesey)
I'd like a name that isn't used often or taken by a million other bands. It's important that if somebody hears us at a gig, likes the music, goes home and looks us up on the internet they don't get a million other websites popping up instead of us!
I know I'm asking a lot, so all suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance to anybody who offers help!
9 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoWhat to wear to a Schuh interview?
It's a group interview, and the guy who called me described it as "nothing formal".
So, do I go in dressed smartly, like you typically would for an interview, or should I go with high tops, skinny jeans etc? I've noticed that most of the staff in there are fairly trendy.
If it's the latter, any wardrobe tips? Thanks!
2 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoWhere in Dublin can I buy braces?
Looked all over Dundrum Town Centre, expecting to find em in H&M or Pull And Bear but no joy! I'm a girl but would wear lads ones.
(PS braces as in the ones that hold your trousers up, not dental braces lol).

5 AnswersJazz1 decade agoAaagh where do I start?!? What bike and how much?
I haven't cycled in years but I need to start! My bus to college has been cancelled, but I've wanted to get back into cycling/getting fit for a while so I thought this would be a good time. But I have NO idea what to buy and how much it'll cost? I'm on a tight budget, but don't really have the knowledge to get a fixer-upper. Any info would be great!

4 AnswersReality Television1 decade agoAny drummers from Dublin out there?!?
Hardcore band based in Dublin, in need of a drummer. Writing our own material, hoping to gig and record soon. Enthusiasm more important that experience! Influences are mainly hardcore like Cancer Bats, Every Time I Die. F*cked Up and Poison Idea, but with a stoner/sludge tinge like Mastodon, Down and Kyuss.
If you're into the same bands and wanna get jammin, drop me a line :-) eavanmagner@yahoo.com
1 AnswerRock and Pop1 decade agoCan you recommend some other bands I'd like?
I'm mainly into post-hardcore at the moment, mainly Million Dead and Biffy Clyro, what other bands play music like this? Also, I don't even know what genre this band would be, but if anybody could recommend more bands like this that'd be great: http://www.myspace.com/heroinerrordublin
5 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoWhat guitar should I buy?
I currently own an Epiphone SG Special, but since I'm in a gigging band now I'd like to upgrade from to a to something around 500euro.
I'd like to move away from Fender and Gibson as the classic tone doesn't really suit the style of music I play (my band plays hardcore, along the lines of Cancer Bats), and I'd like a more unique sound. However, I don't really like "metal" guitars (like ESP) because of the shapes and lack of tone or weight. I wanted a First Act or Godin, but all seem to be out of my price range. Any suggestions are appreciated thanks!

2 AnswersPersonal Finance1 decade agoWhere are some good cheap practise spaces in Dublin?
My band needs somewhere to practise. We can bring our own equipment, the main requirement is that it has to be cheap as chips. I've heard there are a lot of unused offices in Dublin that they are willing to rent out for entire months for practically nothing that the band can use any time they want, rather than paying through there noses for a few hours. Does anybody have any info on those places? I think Exchange made something about it, if that rings any bells.
Thanks very much for any help you can provide.
1 AnswerRock and Pop1 decade agoRecommend some accurate guitar tabs?
I'd descrive my level as intermediate but out of practice. I like hard rock and hardcore, like Mastodon, Cancer Bats, Dead Kennedies etc. If you recommend a song, could you link me to an accurate tab, as there are so many dodgy tab sites? Thanks
