Can someone explain to me something about sexual reproduction?
I want to know about the switch from asexual reproduction to having sexual reproduction, male and female, in evolutionary terms. Also, when did this switch happen whilst evolving from single-celled organisms to multi-cellular organisms and why is this a beneficial mutation?
5 AnswersBiology8 years agoTodays religions are tomorrows mythologies?
And, depending on how you look at it, vice-versa.
That wasn't the question but I just thought I would inform you as many of you seem to give unfounded credence to your own religion.
I have no comprehension as to how people can reject other religions willy-nilly yet be dumbfounded that others reject theirs. Am I missing something or are they just thicker than a whale omelette? Do they not understand that religion is mainly down to not only where but when you were born?
I can understand the deist position, even though I am an atheist I don't find it ridiculous I just think a better stance is just to say,'I don't know'. But if you were lucky enough not to be born into a religion yet later take the stance that there is probably a God, how do you jump from that to a particular religion? No religious text has yet stood up to scrutiny and many contain internal contradictions or are just at odds with reality. Rant over.
Here's my main question/scenario to give a COGENT response to: If you lived in ancient Greece during the period when they believed in Zeus and the other Gods residing on Mount Olympus, do you think you would have still rejected that religion like you do today and why?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy do a lot of Americans insist on called themselves dual nationalities?
You nationality is where you are born and live so you are not African-America or Irish-American. I am English but I don't call myself Irish-Scottish-English.
6 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups8 years agoWhy don't characters don't laugh in tv programs?
Has anyone else noticed that characters on tv programs tend not to laugh at the humorous things that are being said or done; they show no reaction? I find this really strange but I think the use of a laughter track is an attempt to compensate for the lack of reaction by showing where the characters should be laughing.
Does anyone else have any ideas as to why it is normal (in the majority of tv programs) and does anyone else find it makes the actors seem inhuman and mechanical?
1 AnswerComedy8 years agoChristians, have you ever heard of Mithras?
Your religion is an imitation of Mithraism.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy can't religious people type?
They seem to think it necessary to constantly use inappropriate capital letters as if that makes their points more valid. I see it constantly and I always wondered why. Is it poor education or do they hold everyone else in such low regard that they think they can't read? e.g. 'CREATION is true because the BIBLE tells us so and it is the WORD OF GOD etc...'. To me, that straight away pushes me to think these people are stupid but I want to give them a chance to explain themselves. So...explain yourselves!

Enough to break the ice!
I know this is a long shot but we are trying to win a slot at beach break festival this year and would very much appreciate it is for go on this link and click 'Like' at the top of the page (that is litterally all you have to do!) : http://www.studentbeans.com/battleofthebands/profi...

2 AnswersRock and Pop9 years agoDo religious people get annoyed?
Would you get annoyed if I refered to your religious beliefs as 'magic' (which is what they essentially are)? When someone asks me what religion I am I tend to just say that I don't believe in magic. You have to accept that religious beliefs nearly all can be categorised as beliefs in magic but does it irritate you if I refer to them as such? In my mind they are really one and the same so I feel my answer is justified.
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhat is it about metal music that draws so many geeks to it?
They just seem to be attracted to that genre more than others and I can't see why.
12 AnswersRock and Pop9 years agoTo christians: When does a person gain their soul?
I mean when do you start having a soul because it obviously isn't in the womb because that one fertilised egg can split into two or more, so at what point do people get their souls?
Atheist
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoChristians, what happened to your music, it is terrible!!?
Why is your music nowadays just awful? I am referring to the music specifically about christianity and all that ****, not christians who happen to make music.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoDo the Argentinians actually believe they have some claim to the Falklands?
Or is it just their president Kirchener being a pathetic tw*t and I am getting the wrong impression of Argentinians from the media?
7 AnswersGovernment9 years agoChristians, do you actually know what an atheist is?
Because you seem to ask an awful lot of questions that have nothing to do with Atheism or just make sweeping generalisations like we have a lot in common with each other even though the only thing we actually have in common is our disbelief in god/gods (everything else is coincidence).

13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoDo you really believe in angels?
I stumbled upon an opinion poll on the daily mail website that showed that a majority or people actually believe in angels! Ignoring the fact that it was the daily mail and most of their readers are morons and more likely to be more gullible towards things such as religion (I see the irony that I was on the website too), do a majority of people in Britain actually think angels and the like are real? If so, do you have any real evidence (not anecdotal) or is it just wishful thinking from the weak minded?
