  • I am currently considering the purchase of a vehicle...?

...that is good in the snow and inclement weather conditions. In short, I am looking for a rugged good quality vehicle. Obviously I am looking at a 4x4 and am exploring two options now. Option one is a 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited manual 6 speed transmission. It has 50,000 km and is still under a good warranty. Asking price is 16,000 dollars Canadian. Of the two it seems to be the most practical due to space issues. The second option is a 2003 Jeep TJ with 70,000 km manual with no warranty and an asking price 13,000 dollars Canadian, but I can always hook a trailer if space is needed. Both vehicles are in great condition. I am looking for opinions regarding these vehicles from people who may have owned or own the vehicles I am inquiring about. What is your personal experience with these vehicles? I am also entertaining alternative options available, but these two are the best I have seen thus far.

  • A question from a moral perspective?

From the perspective of moral behaviour is this persons choice of home heating sound or unsound, ethical or unethical? Neighbouring homes are being subjected to smoke invasion thus the right to breath clean air within their homes is compromised. The vast majority of urban homes use forced air natural gas or oil furnace systems. When the furnace kicks in it draws clean air in from the outdoor atmosphere. Therefore, in the case of the neighbouring homes here smoke is drawn in rather than fresh air, not to mention smoke comes in anyway regardless of the furnace draw. So, should the perpetrator of the smoke pollution have a right to heat his/her home with a wood stove, or should the neighbours have the right to live without smoke trespass? Should urban municipalities allow homes to be heated with wood stoves? Should wood heating only be a rural choice? Why or why not?

Please do not think that I am an anti wood burning zealot for I am not. I understand that wood heating is an affordable, sustainable choice for heating and there is modern equipment that reduces emissions considerably. I do not thumbs down.
