  • What is the significance of Holy Thursday?

I'm supposed to do an interpretation on William Blake's "Holy Thursday" for a poetry presentation. I have no idea what Holy Thursday is though. Someone told me it has something to do with the passover, but I have no idea what that is either or how it relates to the poem.

Long story short. What is Holy Thursday and why is it important?

  • Need help with integrations?

    INT (x^3)/(x^3 + 1) dx

I did long division and ended up with 1- 1/(x^3+1) not sure how to proceed from here.

    INT from 0 to 1 (x^2)ln(1+x)dx

I used integration by parts and the second INT I got was (x^3)/(3+3x) dx

  • Need help with trigonometic sub integration?

    I'm supposed to integrate (x^2 + 2x -1) / (x^3 - x) dx

I know I'm supposed to used trigonometric substitution.

    I got the top to be (x+1)^2 - 2

and the bottom to be x(x^2 - 1)

I tried subbing sec in with both of them (not at once) but got stuck both times

  • Need help with calculus volume question?

Find the volume generated by revolving the region in the first quadrant bounded above by the line y=2, below by the curve y=2sinx, 0 < x < pi/2 and on the left by the y-axis about the line y=2.

I drew this out and obtained a cone like structure that I'm pretty sure I need to use the disk method to solve. I got the integral pi int 0 to pi/2 (2 - 2sinx)^2 dx. I'm not quite sure how to solve this integral though or if it's even correct.

  • Question on how to find quantity demanded with elasticity of demand?

At a total cost of $20, the number of trips is 190,000. If you use an estimate of the elasticity equal to 2, how many trips will people take when the fee is $16?

I tried using the elasticity of demand formula ((Q1-Q0)/(Avg Q))/((P1-P0)/(Avg P))= 2 but the answer I got didn't make sense.

  • Why are Atheists and Christians at such bad terms with each other?

I see religious backgrounds, or lack of it, the same as race or gender. Whether we have a religion or not doesn't change the fact we are all human beings living on the same planet.

Why can't people think this way? I'm sure it would end a lot of problems.
