  • My dog has really dark urine and is lethargic, any ideas what might cause this?

I called the vet and took them a urine and stool sample and they told me they saw nothing to worry about today and they would check him over tomorrow at 2:30. I told them I would take him to the emergency vet if they thought it was necessary. He is now refusing food but is still drinking. I made him chicken and rice and he only took a few bites of chicken. He normally scarfs any food within reach.

It started with him not peeing as often as usual on Sunday but it was really hot here and I thought that was the problem. Monday morning I noticed his urine was extremely dark - dark enough that I thought it was bloody and made him pee in a cup so I could check. I poured it on a paper towel like I was told to and saw no blood. Today it is still dark and he is a bit lethargic. He looks really tired. I think his gums look a bit whiter than normal too. Does anyone have any suggestions of what might cause these symptoms? I am still thinking about taking him to the E-vet even though my regular vet said he'll be ok.

  • My vet says my dogs have hot spots but I think they are something else. Anyone else ever encounter this?

Last Sunday my golden/rottie had a bloody lump of fur around a mole on his cheek. I took him to the vet because I thought he ripped the mole off. They treated him and told me it was a hot spot. It was bleeding, not pusing. He didn't make it bleed because it was right under his ear so he couldn't reach it that well. He got an antibiotic and is fine now, the spot has scabbed over. Now my G. Shep has one on the top of his head. I know he didn't scratch it open. He really can't reach that spot. It is about the size of a quarter and is oozing blood out of the skin. It is not brush burned, bitten, or scratched, it is just oozing out of his skin. We called the vet; they told us to shave it and put the cream on from the other dog and made an appointment for him tomorrow. I don't think it is what they clinically classify as hot spots (I think they just don't know what else to tell me) and I wonder if anyone else had this problem and knew what causes it so I can prevent it in the future.

  • Atheists and non-Christians: Do you think Jesus was a very intelligent man?

Instead of coming along and saying, "Hey everybody, your religion is wrong. Now come follow me and I'll show you the right way to do it." He instead said, "Yes, this religion you have followed for your entire lives has been good, but your God has decided he wants to change things a bit so he sent me to show you the way he wants it to be from now on."

It is much easier to change people's minds a little at a time and use what they already know to shift their belief system than it is to get them to change everything and start from a completely new one.

  • Question for anyone who posts on ESPN message boards..?

My husband got banned today and no one will answer him as to why. He said he called a Pats fan a moron for insulting Myron Cope but there are much worse things on there. Is there an easy quick way to find out why and how long he is banned for? He's freaking out because he is a Steeler fan and to get banned today of all days really sucks for him. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

  • To those who believe this life is all there is...?

Do you ever feel like you don't belong here? You know that "I must be from another planet" feeling, only in a more profound way.

I ask because I base my beliefs on some ideas that there are other possibilities of where I came from or where I am going and it might not be the same for everyone. That would be why I'm totally weird. And why I don't completely agree with any single religious doctrine. I was just curious if you have any thoughts like this and how you reconcile this feeling with the idea that this is it.

  • My dogs keep getting sick. Is there something going around?

I have two dogs. First one got a really bad tummy virus. He had terrible diarrhea and really painful gas and cramps. I took him to the vet and he was given an antibiotic and an antidiarrhea medication. He was ok in two days but he still seems to have cramps and gas once in a while. Never has before. My other dog came down with it when the first one was halfway through his antibiotic and I got him meds too. He too was better in two days and still gets gas and cramps once in a while. It has been about a two weeks since they finished their meds. Now the first dog has what appears to be a cold in his right eye. It is very watery and has mucus in the corner. I am worried about them because I don't want to overuse antibiotics. They have all their shots and are eating and drinking fine. It seems to be one symptom at a time. They are not around other dogs very often but there are stray cats in my neighborhood. Anyone having similar trouble? My vet is not worried but I am.

  • How do you remove the dust cap from the drum on a 2007 Ford Focus without damaging it?

There is usually a lip that you can use to pry off the dust cap when you go to change the rear brakes but there isn't one on the Focus. Is there a trick to it?
