I own a 1992 ford explorer 4 x 4 does anyone know if the transmission is equipped with a shifting solenoid?
My wife and I paid for a salvaged transmission to be installed into our ford explorer. It worked for about 20 days and then it stopped. A neighbor suggested that it could be something as simple as a transmission shifting solenoid. Which would be a God send to us because we have had nothing but headaches trying to get the salvage yard to replace the transmission they sold us. We used their installation guy and the darn thing shot craps about 21 days after the installation. I pulled out of the driveway and it wouldn't go into gear, had to have the neighbor help me push it back into the drive.

6 AnswersElections9 years agoHi there! I have a car that is showing signs that it is going to blow a headgasket?
I thought I saw a product that can be used in the radiator that will allow the car to still function before blowing. Is there such an animal out there? The car in question is a sunbird '91, four cylinder.

popped the head off the bottom bolt. Leaving just the stud, I have sprayed it with lubricant and I have tried my bolt out, haven't budged it at all. I have used channel locks, vice grips, plyers, I even tried drilling it out. I sure could use some ideas.
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoMy computer speakers are not as loud as they use to be?
I have a dell pc and have changed speakers on it to gaming speakers. Now this is not to do gaming but to listen to music with hi quality. At one point my speakers would not work then I was able to uninstall the speakers that originally came with the dell and these speakers that I have now worked like they just came from the factory, good and loud. Is there something that I can do that will make them loud again?

My wife was at the store the other day and she got into a conversation with an employee that works on cars. He told my wife that transmissions can slip out of alignment. Now I have heard of front end alignments but with a transmission I haven't heard this word used before. You got any ideas? What is going on here? People that know their stuff answer only, please.
1 AnswerFord9 years agoI would like to build my own computer. What components will I need to buy?
I have an older Dell comp at the moment and it always seems to crash because of the adobe player is not up to date. I am fed up with all the rebooting and I want to build my own PC so I won't have these problems for a while anyway. I have updated my adobe and it seems to cause more problems. I have tried to update my Mozilla and it just causes me havoc. Just give me the basic items that I will need and the people at Micro Center will do the rest. Thanks!
7 AnswersDesktops9 years agoI am having problems removing paint from carpet does anyone know of an easy way to remove paint?
My son and his friend were painting his soon to be new room and in the process spilled primer paint on the carpet. I have tried a few different types of soap on the spot and nothing seems to budge the spot. When it first happened my son put newspaper over the spot and it has hardened and I have to get the paper off the spilled paint first. I tried hot water and it seemed to remove some of the paint but the area that has the paper on it still won't budge. Any ideas?
3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling9 years agoCan an engine cause an automatic transmission to fail?
I have an older ford explorer 4x4 and it has been giving me fits. I had a rebuilt transmission installed and less that 20 days the transmission has failed. I'm ready to push the thing off of a steep embankment. The car starts up just it won't go into forward or reverse. I called the installer and he said it was out of warranty. His warranty was 30 days.

3 AnswersLaw & Legal9 years agoOn a ford explorer 4 x 4 1992, could a driveshaft fail and give symptoms that the transmission is failing?
I own a ford explorer and I recently had a transmission installed. It drove fine for almost 2 weeks and then it stopped. Luckily it failed as I was trying to pull out of my driveway. It is parked out in front of my house. My son told me there was a bolt out in the drive. I went out and located it and it is a bolt to the driveshaft. I want to be sure it is not the transmission. In further inspection I found that my driveshaft is only being held on by one bolt, in the front. The rear is attached fine these are the bolts in the front. Any ideas?!
2 AnswersFord9 years agoI have a 1992 Ford Explorer 4x4 that just had the transmission replaced, when I got my explorer back from?
the mechanic my brakes were all the way to the floor. I checked the brake fluid and it was low so I filled it. The pedal came up but I decided to change my brake pads and when I finished I noticed that my brake fluid was low again. I have a brake fluid leak somewhere and I have a light on my dash that reads emergency brake and the rear anti-lock braking system. I have no idea if my mechanic clipped my brake line in the process of replacing the transmission. I just want to find it so I can have it fixed. I checked the master cylinder and it has no signs of leakage and the brake lines themselves seem to be leak free. I even checked at each tire and there are no signs of leaks there. When I back it out of the drive there is a spot on the driveway that is brake fluid. What gives?
2 AnswersFord10 years agoDo professional golfers play a few rounds before the tournament begins?
The Bridgestone Golf tournament is being held this week in Akron, OH. I was just wondering why the networks don't show preliminary rounds of golf or practice rounds. I think it would be interesting to know who goes out and really plays and who doesn't. It would also help those that are learning the sport about how much preparation is needed before each tournament!
9 AnswersGolf10 years agoHowdy! I have a 1992 ford explorer and I need to change the transmission fluid after close examination?
I have found out that there is no plug to the transmission fluid pan. I want to know if there is a way I can remove the transmission fluid without removing the pan? I do have a small pump that I use to put transmission fluid in the explorer. This pump has a connection for the quart bottle and a hose that goes to the transmission tube from the engine compartment. The hose is about 16 inches long. Any ideas or thoughts to my dilemma?

Has anyone ever wired a bypass on a tv or anything similar that could give me some knowledge or insight on how I do this? I would appreciate any help that I can get. Thanks!

My son's dell computer is showing a pop up that the computer's d drive is almost to capacity. Is there a way to make more room on it? I have purchased memory boards for other computers in the past but I don't think that would help with the d drive in this case. Any help? This is a pc.
