Tomorrow is my 18th birthday, but I seriously have no idea what to do and my parents also aren't planning anything. Just to be clear, I'm having a bonfire at the beach the next day with friends, so it's not like I'm not doing anything ^_^ It's just that I would like to do something special on my actual birthday - not a party, just something possibly with my parents since I'm moving and we never do anything together.

My parents are polar opposites and don't like much of anything, and aren't willing to compromise - no bowling, no traveling out of town, no concerts, etc. And I wanna be able to remember that I did something more than just ate cake and watched a movie (I hope that doesn't sound bad, because I do enjoy that, but it gets old and I want my parents to actually get involved this year).

I'm trying to figure out my face shape so I can decide which hairstyles would look best on me . . . but apparently I can't tell which shape my face is most similar to (round, square, heart-shaped, oval, long, etc.) If you're better at this than I am, then please help a girl out!

Recently I graduated high school, and certainly do not miss it in a way that would make me want to go back. But I can't help but look back and remember both the good and bad times, and realize that high school was rough but I remember the good times more vividly than the bad. And furthermore, I realized that the stupidest, most simple memories were the best. For example, what was probably the funniest occurance of my high school career was this: I was heading toward the choir room for the last period of the day, when my friend comes walking out of the bathroom frusterated, as if she's just been pushed around by some Jerk. So I'm like "What?", and she says "the toilet in the women's bathroom WILL NOT stop flushing." That's when I lost it, every last bit of sense that held me together...went down the toilet. I could here the toilet viciously going WHOOSH. WHOOSH. WHOOSH, as if it took it's job very seriously and was not going to stop for the world.

How ridiculous is that? Like, that's what I remember? Anyway, what was your favorite or most hilarious story in high school? Just out of curiosity!

I'm selling a car on Facebook and had a girl interested yesterday, saying "My mom is thinking about talking to you about this car! Dibs:)". It's been about 25 hours since then and she hasn't re-contacted us. But about an hour a ago this guy called and wants to check out the car tonight. I would feel bad for possibly selling the car to this guy instead of the girl since she contacted us first, but the guy sounds more promising. Do I just message her and tell her something like "Hey, we have a guy coming to look at the car tonight, sorry we didn't hear from you in time"?

I was watching a video explanation on the movie Suckerpunch (link here: http://www.slashfilm.com/video-you-dont-understand... which I believe is to be about empowerment and traits that go along with that, but is pretty much open to any viewer's interpretation (which I think has a pretty intricate and ingenious design).

Anyway, in the video explanation, the narrator mentions "the difference between exploitation and empowerment" at 5:11. This got me thinking about what the difference really is between these two terms. So out of curiosity I wanted to ask the Y!A community.

To you, what is the difference between exploitation and empowerment?

As part of my senior project on the Spanish-speaking culture (titled "The Salsa Experiment", I've chosen to make a short series of videos to present to the high school I go to. I just have one problem: I don't know what I should do for an introduction for my videos. The script is typed up, but how should I present it? I was thinking of doing a slightly comical take and film myself sitting down and munching on some chips and salsa while I say my introductory lines. Any ideas or input? Thanks in advance(:

I have a friend - we'll call her Jane. Jane's friend has a history of cutting herself and has attempted to commit suicide in the past. Recently she's tried again and is in ICU. We both know her, but she stopped talking to me a long time ago. Jane was her best friend and is really scared for her, as am I. I know there's nothing we can do, but I how can try to make Jane feel better?

I was in the song writing mood today, and decided to bust my the guitar. It's in 4/4 time and I only have 3 of the 4 chords I want put together. It looks like this: C Dm G6 ?.
