Only after a restart, not a shutdown and manual start, windows takes an extremely long time to log in. First some info on my computer, I have a Toshiba S70-A laptop with an Intel core I5-3230M, 16GB of Ram, a Samsung 850 pro 512GB SSD, an Nvidia Geforce 740M graphics card. My machine doesn't have any malware that I have found so far using windows defender or malwarebytes. During a normal start up my computer boots in a couple of seconds and also logins in very fast, but after restart it's slow. I tried to open task manager after login to see what programs are eating up processing power or memory but I cannot find anything that could be the culprit.

Any help would be appreciated on pinpointing the issue.

Something I'm not sure if it could interfere but I do have features like RAPID mode enabled on my SSD

Hi to all computer nerds. I currently have a pfsense router running my home network. I have a dynamic dns set up so I can vpn to my home network when I want.

I now want to use a setup like say promox probably behind my pfsense router if possible. To have things like free NAS, and possibly a web server. Things of that sort just for Labs. I want to be able to point to specific servers like my free NAS that I will build(Maybe for the mail server.) So I can connect to that remotely. How could I do this. I know it's something along the lines of setting it up to route traffic to my different web servers. Point me to a walkthrough? or Explain in basics and I can research the rest.

So I am planning on buying a sound bar to supplement my led 32" tv. The problem is that I have OTA and no audio out on my tv. So if I get a sound bar is there a way to pull the audio from the antenna before sending it to my soundbar? Like an HDMI pass through to pull the audio but for my antenna?

Alright so I have couple of old pc's in my possesion and i will be turning one into a nice firewall/vpn with another being a file server. But i have an extra with no real use. With it being useless and unsellable i want to take the computer.. pentium4 gig of ram and whatever OS and crank it up to what overclockers call unsafe so i can have some fun. Any suggestions on what approach I should take would be helpful.

Okay I'm 15 and a half about and a good friend of mine who is 16 is a girl. Now I'm fine talking to women and me and this girl are fine but sometimes she's flirts sometimes she is in no mode I'm not sure where she stands. We were talking today and one thing led to another and we are hanging out tomorow. She wanted to know What we would be doing and I said we could have a fire or watch some movies but this is the first time we have hung out just the two of us. She had no objection to it. I'm not sure if it will be weird or not so I was thinking of saying we could go mini golfing instead if she wanted but that means she would have to drive because I don't have my license and idk if that would be weird. What do you think I should do? Do you think she wants it to be a date or not or what. I'm lost in what to do

Wondering About the best way to be secure while computing. Im a computer technician so i have a general idea and have been looking into some Linux, but all seem to have there flaws, I want to know what you think the best set up would be for security. I know TAILS uses Tor but Tor does not encrypt traffic. (It doesn't have to be a Linux set-up)

It would need to include all of the following:

-As close to complete anonymity as possible while maintaining the other requirements

- A good GUI If i set this system up i dont want to have to rock a terminal all day

-Have good protection not just while using the web but also in general

I have to identical desktops that are currently running windows xp pro. I know that you can install a Linux kernal for computers and put them on a network together so they can trade processes and "super-compute". this has been done with ps3's and i'm wondering if i can install a special release of Linux to accomplish this?

I am looking to get a good speaker system but i already have new speakers i would like to use, what is the piece of a speaker system called that plays cd's/ipods and sends the signal out to the speakers? Do you know what kinds are good, i am looking for something with 80-100 ohms of impedence and about 400w of power. Would i be better of using a amplifier w/ a speaker switcher/distributor?

I want to make a controller acompanied by an lcd display that would regulate voltage inverting from ac to dc 0 to 12 volts based on user input( pressing a up button or a down button) any help on how this would be accomplished or if it could? I have a e machines t2984 computer.... i took it apart because it no longer works... after stripping it I hooked the motherboard back up to the power supply and i found out that when i hook up the power supply a green led comes on but when i try to turn the computer on nothing turns on... i hooked a fan back up and that wouldn't turn on either... is it the power supply thats bad or the motherboard? am i missing something?

I have a laptop that had the screen cracked a while back and the charger port broke, i fixed the charger port and i already bought a new laptop. What i was wondering is could i use my old laptop to speed up my new laptop. What i mean is take advantage of another processor/graphics card/hard drive. And if so how would i do it, they are both running windows 7 by the way. I don't want to use it as a nas because i don't need one.

I have a Samsung series 3 laptop with 4GB of ram and a GHz processor. I understand that adding ram alone may not increase my laptops speed a lot but i do want to add more... Should i buy 2GB or 4. i have room for one more card and the 4gb is $30 compared to $14 for the 2gb. My max is 8gb so 4 would max it out. I play minecraft a lot and i edit video sometimes. i also watch netflix and it seems to lag somewhat and i know it's not my internet.

Alright so im using a laptop and i have the software to overclock it but it runs pretty hot... i was wondering if i buy a laptop cooling pad would it be alright to overclock it? If so what laptop cooling pad would you recommend and what would the maximum temp i would want to run on and what is the max ghz i should run on.

I am making a wrestling video for my team. The video will consist of short clips of wrestling with the audio being music playing. I will be burning the video to discs to give to the team. I am making this video using the Video Pad software by NCH. I was wondering what the best settings would be, like should i just burn it to a disc right from the program(i have that option) or save it as computer data and burn it using an external program. Along with these options comes video format, video aspect ratio, file format, resolution, and frame rate.

I know my body fat which is 14.6% and my height and weight are 5' 6" and 135 im 14 years old i was woundering if there is a way i could tell what percent of my body weight is made up of muscle.

Im 13 years old and the other day i went into my local family dollar and i wanted to buy an energy drink. They didn't have any signs posted saying that i couldn't buy the product, but when i went up to the counter the cashier said that she wouldn't sell me the product because of her own beleifs. she said that some kids had medical problems so she doesn't sell the drinks to minors. Is she allowed to do that without posting any signs? I live in wisconsin if that helps.
