70-year-old man stoned to death

(UKPA) – 14 hours ago

Authorities in a suburban area of the US city of Philadelphia said a 70-year-old man was stoned to death with a rock stuffed in a sock by a friend who alleged the victim made unwanted sexual advances.

According to the criminal complaint, 28-year-old John Thomas told police he killed Murray Seidman because the Old Testament refers to stoning homosexuals.

Thomas was arrested and charged with murder.

Authorities say Mr Seidman died in his apartment in early January. His body was not found for days.

Police say Thomas is the executor and sole beneficiary of Mr Seidman's will.

Pascal's wager ? I swear I almost fell out of my seat in laughter when a fellow student today tried to convince me by saying "Just in case there is an afterlife shouldn't you reconsider and accept the bible?" He couldn't understand when I called out "DRINK!!" and told him it was Pascal's wager *snicker* He seemed most upset when I explained a few passages from his bible and suggested he read it more carefully instead of letting others explain it to him. When he asked why I would tell him to read the bible I explained we atheists always encourage Christians to read it fully because it was the surest path to either atheism or agnosticism.
