I'm a 14 year old girl called Jazz. I'm English, and I like manga and anime. Specifically, Prince of Tennis and Fullmetal Alchemist. I also like cats and I used to be fairly well versed in the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom. I'm a shounen-ai fan : ) I'm not smart so I hang around Answers to learn stuff, yay learning stuff!
Is This a Good Life-Plan?
I've been stuck for a plan for quite a while :/ I'm 16 right now and leaving school this summer. This isn't a life plan as such but it's my plan up until the end of Uni which is, as far as my scope goes, life.
First step: study abroad in Japan. I've had a private tutor in Japanese for the past year so I can express myself basically in Japanese. We've been in contact with a lot of different companies already and while we may not get onto any programs this year because we're so late, one school we've been in contact with accepts students up to the age of 19 for their year program :D
then: go to college to do BTEC Travel and Tourism. I want to go to Uni at some point but I need some kind of course I'm interested in so I have the motivation to get good grades, as well as one to compliment Japanese A Level that I'll be studying at home.
after that: Do a four year Japanese language degree, with the third year abroad.
How does this plan sound? What kind of jobs or opportunities would come with this plan? Would you change anything? What's good about it?
(my parents and I have already discussed the difficulties, especially with study abroad. We've been let down several times already)
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoWriting A Blog...Japanese Help!?
I'm writing a blog at the moment, and while I'm learning Japanese with a tutor (I can say that "'noun' is 'adjective'" basically, and read hiragana) I don't actually know how to say anything! This is what I have so far.
わたし の なまえ は リンジ ジャスミン です。わたし は イギリスじん です。
I am aware it may be a bit weird but I don't want anyone thinking my Japanese is perfect! Anyway, phrases I would like to have romanised~
"My Japanese is not good, but I am learning"
"I am 15 years old"
"I like...*I can put in what I like later*"
If anyone at all could help me with this I would be so grateful! (Romanised please...? I would like to be able to say them at a glance before I kana-ify them myself. You don't have to do all the work for me :3)
5 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoNumerous Issues Involving Boys!?
I've been going to a girl's school for four years now and I actually cannot talk to boys anymore. There are none on my bus and I don't go out in my spare time except shopping, so I don't know any that I don't hate.
What's worse is, my 'type' is incredibly rare for me. I like Asian guys and I'm from Wiltshire, which is quite literally the most Caucasian place in the entire world.
It being summer at the moment, we have loads of Japanese tourists around and I can spend hours sitting in the Close near Salisbury Cathedral just watching them go by and sighing over the really gorgeous ones, but I just can't talk to them. They all keep to themselves anyway, and don't really talk to anyone. Also I'm really really shy. I'm not pretty and I don't stand out particularly, I'm very short (five foot tall) and am constantly mistaken for eleven years old. (though some people ask what University I'm at...I'm fifteen!)
I guess the actual question I'm asking here is: How do I get cute guys to approach me? I'm too shy to approach them, I need a way to make them want to talk to me >_<
It's probably obvious but I've never had a boyfriend. This is me

Any suggestions for what I could do/work on? Both looks and attitude suggestions much appreciated!
7 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoGoing to Miyavi and I Don't Know What to Wear!?
I'm going to the Miyavi concert in London in October and I actually haven't a clue what to wear (I need time to save up money to buy clothes if I need new ones so I'm planning now, also I get more excited about things once I know what I'm wearing). I don't actually know anything about Miyavi, I'm going with two of my friends who are absolutely mental about him for both their birthday presents and I want to look good but not stick out in a bad way, so please tell me what to wear!
Suggestions for styles, colours, particular items of clothing (or items LIKE particular bits of clothing) everything is appreciated! (tips for makeup are also appreciated but I'll have to buy ALL of that, I don't own any!) Also: my friends have suggested 'normal clothes' but I don't actually have any 'normal clothes' as most days are spent in either my school uniform or pyjamas.
I'm 15 btw, five feet and NO inches tall, and reference pictures of me can be found here http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d141/HerostarUK/
Any and all help is really appreciated! Thank you!
2 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoWhat presumptions do you have about teenagers and how does it make you feel when one is polite to you?
I am one (15)! Thing is whenever I do something like hold open a door or thank the bus driver or give up my seat somewhere, people either start whispering about me or other people my age stare at me like I'm an alien! Older people are always polite to me and I am back, but it seems anyone under the age of twenty-five is a totally self absorbed snob. Does anyone else get this? Is it rare for younger people to show good manners where you live? How does it make you feel if a teenager or kid goes out of their way to be polite to you?
Oh also, little story, I was on a flight to Japan and there was a reeeeally long queue for the bathroom. I was at the front and a little old Japanese woman was behind me, I kept gesturing for her to go first but as I spoke no Japanese and she spoke no English it took a while! Got there in the end X3
Other people in the queue smiled whenever they saw me around the flight or the airport after that, if you've been to/are from a foreign country, is it really different with the standard of youth etiquette?
9 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoConsidering an Exchange to Japan...?
I'm 15 years old right now, and I've been looking at an exchange program to Japan with Youth For Understanding http://www.dawnbreaker-solutions.com/yfui.html#Sce... but before I consider making an application, I need to ask some questions.
What kind of grades I need to have.
How fluent I need to be in Japanese. (I have a year!)
The small problem of the Japanese school year starting in April - the middle of my GCSEs.
Could anyone suggest anymore questions I might have to ask? I'm English by the way, and currently speak no Japanese.
2 AnswersJapan1 decade agoGiving up a Seat on the Bus...?
I've always given up my seat on the bus for people, but at the moment I've got a leg injury. You can't actually see anything wrong but it gives me a lot of pain and I have to go to an osteopath every so often to get it looked at. Am I still obligated to give up my seat?
I still do but my journey is an hour long and it really really hurts my legs :(
