  • Why do all prime time comedies always have completely stupid characters?

I stopped watching prime time comedy shows years ago because they all seemed to consist of stupid people doing stupid things. Sure, that's funny the first few times, but after awhile it's just boring. I recently decided to watch what looked like promising new shows that might be different than the usual ubiquitous crap. Enter Bad Judge and A to Z. Unfortunately, once again, Hollywood has decided that they can't be funny without having at least two obnoxious, loud, stupid characters.

Can someone please tell me why???

  • How do I knit a pattern with gaps?

I need help in figuring out the chart located at http://www.liveinternet.ru/users/cicikore/post1488... I'm a new knitter and am not sure how to create the open work that starts on row 6 nor am I sure what the titled S on row 5 means. Is there anyone that can help me with reading this chart? Apparently it's in a language that is untranslatable by either google or bing.

  • How do I fix a knitting mistake?

I'm a fairly new knitter still learning the craft though I am an expert crocheter. I "created" my own pattern for a top-down, circular poncho which is driving me crazy. I know how to fix simple knit or purl mistakes but when it comes to fixing the area of a YO increase, I am way too confused.

Basically the pattern calls for an increase every other round, before and after an 8 stitch cable then just knit to the other side, rinse and repeat. Occasionally I make a mistake such as forgetting the YO or putting in an extra one on the round that should just be knit and, inevitably, don't see it until I'm 3-4 rounds up. No problem when it was only a few stitches but with now over 230 stitches on the needle, and increasing every other round, tinking or frogging involves making a mess and is driving me nuts. Not to say the extra pills it's causing on the yarn. (Bernat Mosaic)

How can I fix these errors more easily? Is there a way to ladder down and fix 'em!

  • What TV News station reports the most news for Broward County, FL?

I'd like to know which station reports more Broward County news. Seems they're all about Miami-Dade and Broward gets relegated to the back page... so to speak. Does anyone know which station reports the most news for Broward County?

  • What fruit trees are good for butterflies & hummingbirds?

I live in North Broward County, Florida and am trying to setup a butterfly & hummingbird garden. I've a number of bushes and trees that already attract them both but want to plant a fruit tree. Are there any that are good for both the wildlife and the fruit? Where I live is Zone 10 so Tropical fruit is my primary wish.

And if anyone knows where in my area I can get fruit trees, I'd appreciate a heads up.

  • Can your cat make you sick?

One of my cats got sick on Friday. Low-grade fever, no sneezing, coughing or runny eyes so it wasn't an upper respiratory problem or cold. He was just... listless, ate very little and slept in the same place. This went on for a few days. By Tuesday he was feeling better, eating but still weak. Last night he was almost completely back to normal. I have no idea what was wrong with him.

I would have taken him to the vet tomorrow if he hadn't been on the mend by the time I get home today. But he's fine now. My problem is that now I'm not feeling so well. My stomach is upset, I've got a low grade fever, the chills and am feeling really tired and weak.

Is it POSSIBLE that my cat could have given me something? If so, what could it be?

  • Is there a Florida law regarding trying on earrings?

I wonder if there is a law in Florida concerning the trying on of earrings? I'm a jewelry designer that will be attending craft shows soon and I want to know if it's okay to allow people to try on the earrings. I will, of course, have alcohol to swab the ear wires or posts both before and after someone tries them on, but I'd like to know if there's a Florida law regarding this. I've Googled, Yahoo'd, Bing'd and looked everywhere but I can't find anything for, against or even about it.

  • Is there any way to fix a chewy pot roast?

I made a pot roast in a clay pot today. While the vegetables, potatoes and even the meat taste delicious, it's the chewiest thing I've every had. Is there any way to save this roast for eating tomorrow? I just about chewed two pieces before my teeth gave up. I know I should have cooked it on a lower temp for a longer time but the clay pot recipes all said 450-480 degrees for 70 minutes. That's what I did and it's awful. The roast is wrapped separately in the fridge right now and I'm wondering if there's anyway to save and get it tender without leaching the flavor. HELP!!!

  • What to do with salmon bones?

Every year I make Gravlax for my family who love this Scandinavian recipe. I try to save money on the salmon by buying the whole fish and have the fishmonger filet it for me. But I'm stuck with the head, tail, fins and bones and hate to see it go to waste. I know how to make a basic fumet out of other fish bones, or use shrimp shells for stock, but what can I make from the salmon remains that will knock their socks off!?

  • How do I sign out of Messenger from another computer?

Apparently I'm still signed in to Messenger from my computer at work, but now I'm home. I'm using MacOSX at home with Adium and it won't let me log in because I'm signed on from another location. Is there any way to force a log off?
