Why do people try to discredit artists by what race their fans are?
I don't really care about what race somebody is and if that gives them more of a right to listen to a certain type of music but I see a lot of the time people try to bring artists' music down and discredit them by saying "only white people listen to them". This makes me laugh a little because the truth is every rapper of every color has white fans and fans of pretty much every race. so what does a rapper having white fans have to do with the legitimacy of their work. I have gone to concerts that have been thrown by groups that are geared towards black people like dead prez and been the minority because it was mostly white people that showed up. The truth is that white people are the biggest race of people actually supporting the culture and if every white person stopped going to shows and buying albums hip hop would probably die and go the same route disco went. So my question is does the race of your fans matter in how good your music is? my answer is no but what do yall think?
