I just took my guinea pig to the vet, and the vet told me that my guinea pig has a open wound. Is that serious and what do you think might of caused it? I am giving it up by the way, but I am curious and just really upset.

I just got a guinea pig two and a half weeks ago, but it has been diagnosed with an open wound that is getting worse every single day. I decided that I am going to give it up since I know that it will be the best option for the guinea pig no matter how much it hurts me. Even though it has been such a little amount of time, I can not seem to get a hold of myself to stop crying and sobbing. I am so sad and upset, but I know that I have to let go for the safety of my pet. How do I get over this? It hurts so badly, but there is nothing I can do now.

I noticed first that my guinea pig had a bald spot on it's chest that looked red and a tiny bit irritated. A day later, some puss was around it. The following day, also known as today, my guinea pig now has a total of three spots that are red and look irritated. It might be an infection, but I am not sure. If I do take it to the vet, what kind of treatments will there be and how much do you think that it will cost? I do have a certain budget, but I am so scared and worried for my guinea pig at this point since it's condition is worsening and I do not know what to do.

I noticed today that my guinea pig has a bald spot around it's chest. I just got it two weeks ago and it is a male. Is there a way to cure this and is it dangerous? It is not flaky or irritated; there's just a plain, small, bald spot. Do I have to take it to the vet to treat it or is there a type of medication that I should apply to the spot to cure it eventually? Thanks in advanced.

I can not afford to take it to the vet because it probably is too expensive, but is there any other way to treat it? I'm just so scared to give up my guinea pig since I really am unable to pay for the vet and since it is way too expensive and out of my budget. Please help since I am so worried and I really can't handle the pain knowing that my guinea pig is suffering.

I wanted to purchase another male guinea pig, but they told me that they might fight and kill each other. Is that true? Also, my guinea pig seems to be loosing hair, but it does not have any bald patches on it, but I am a little bit concerned. Thanks in advanced!
