  • I want to lose 30 pounds. What's the best way to do that?

I know I have to increase water intake, decrease calories and exercise, but what is the best combination of exercise? How many days a week should I do cardio, strength training and stretching and in what combination? How much is 'too much'? If I work my butt off, can I lose this stuff in less than 4 months? Does calisthenics do anything for you?

And btw, in the past I have lost a little bit of weight, like 10 pounds, and speaking of 'butt' mine will not come off, it just stays. Why is this? (My husband likes it, so that's one good thing.) I mean it's big, J. Lo big and I can't get it off! If I could just take a quarter of it off I'd be happy.

  • My cousins are Muslims. When I visit them, should I wear a hijab?

Would they be happy or offended if I do this?

  • I'm a novice, but I would like to begin buying stocks.?

How does that work? How much do I have to have in order to invest? How do I get started? Do I have to buy software to do it via internet or what?

Also, is there a way to hide my earnings so no one knows what I'm doing?

  • Our friends and relatives say we spend too much time together. But we're married. You're supposed to spend

    time with your spouse?

We've been married for years and we spend a lot of our free time together. We've made time to go be with friends and relatives as much as possible. But sometimes we just want to be alone with our son and they make it look like we're being antisocial when this happens.

His male relatives have called him 'whipped' because he likes to check with me before he makes decisions that will affect us both. He hangs out with them on his own from time to time and gets his time with just the guys. I also get time with just the girls and I also like to check with him before I make decisions. Of course, people grumble anytime either one of us says 'let me talk to him/her first' and they feel we should just do whatever we want even if the other does not like it.

Why are people telling us these things? Why are people telling us to stop holding hands, saying we been married long enough and stop that now? If we're happy why are other people trying to change how we are?

  • Want to Open a Hula Halau (Hula School) But I'm Borderline Unmotivated...?

I studied Hula for almost 15 years and have danced off and on for years. I taught Hula for a short time, as well back where I came from to a limited amount of students. I live down here in Florida. My kumu (hula teacher) has given me her approval for me starting a halau here to teach hula, but I feel overwrought with some problems I'm having that are making me kind of exhausted.

I don't even care about making money, I just want to spread Aloha through my love of Hula. Where I live no one teaches this dance form. In order to learn it you would have to drive 2-6 hours away to learn it.

I would like to open my school out of my home starting this summer, but I'm having trouble organizing things and getting started because so many people are interested. Does anyone know what I can do to get this show on the road? Any ideas on record keeping and things of that nature? Any ideas on at all, really, would be appreciated. Just drop it on me.

  • Someone Talked About Me Behind My Back, This Was How I Handled It...Was I Wrong?

Another friend of mine just told me that I should not have done this!

Years ago friend 'A' was talking about me behind my back to friend 'B' and several other people.

I went to friend 'B' and the other people and asked them exactly what Friend 'A' had been saying. When I got it all straight I called up Friend 'A' from Friend 'B's house. I told her everything I'd heard had been said about me behind my back and she tried to act like she hadn't done anything wrong. When she finally admitted it, I told her next time she had something to say, she could come and say it to my face. She stopped talking about me after that.

My friend that I've just made who comes from a different background told me I should just have left it and not said a word. Sorry, I didn't agree. Where I come from you would normally settle something like this with violence, but I DID NOT DO THAT. I used words instead. She could not even tell me what was wrong with what I'd done. She just felt it was wrong.

  • How Do I STOP Looking Like a Minor?

I'm 32. Every time I go out for liquor I get carded. When I'm out with my husband people look at him strange like 'what are you doing with that little girl'. But I'm older than him! When I was pregnant, people were mean to me because they thought I was a child-mother.

I'm just under 5 feet by an inch. I'm not skinny, though. I'm not fat either, I'm really curvy. I don't understand how people can look at me and keep thinking I'm a kid because I'm not built like a kid. I have gray hairs and everything, but not enough to show my real age.

I've had grown men think I'm a minor coming onto me. That's the worst feeling in the world, to realize a pedophile is trying to pick you up. They just act differently when they think you're underage and have something up their sleeve. (Trust me, I know the difference.)

How can I look my age? I'm tired of getting carded and tired of people thinking my husband is a pervert.

  • The Tomatis Method?

Does anyone have any info on The Tomatis Method and whether or not it helps children with autism in conjunction with speech therapy?

  • Private Speech Therapy?

We live in the USA in the South. About how much does it cost for private speech therapy per hour? I just want to know how much we should be paying so we don't get ripped off this summer.

Also, for parents of non-verbal pre-school children who've had Speech Intensives, about how soon do you see results? About how much does that cost, out-of-pocket, as well?

  • Pre-Schooler with Autism Spectrum Disorder - GF/CF Diet?

Does anyone have a child with Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder and have undertaken a GF/CF regimen? I would like to know what other parents have to say and any advice that can be given before I start.

My son is 4 and was diagnosed about five months ago. While we wait for services, money and waiting-lists to be done, we are about to gradually implement GF/CF hopefully in the month of April or May. We have already eliminated cow's milk, but are now about to go GF, organic, chemical-free cleansers and filtered water. Has anyone had any experience with any of this?
