  • Should I tell my dad bad news on his birthday?

I just found out I have stage 1 cancer. My parents knew I had a test but don't know the results. Should I tell them this Sunday when I see them for my dad's birthday. I need to have surgery next week so I can't push it off too long without them knowing. There will not be a party or anything big this weekend but I don't want to ruin his birthday either.

  • Should I see my mom after 5 years?

From when I was 16 to 21, my mom and I had a very rocky relationship. She did many things a mother would never even think of doing to her child. When I was 21, my husband and I got married and she tried to ruin our wedding. I had had it and never talked to her since. On and off she has tried to contact me on holidays but I never responded. Now it has been 5 years and my brother whom remained in contact with her said she has changed and always asks about me. My husband is still so mad at her that I can't even bring her up in a conversation. Should I respond to her at holidays and/or go out to lunch with her to see if she has changed and not tell my husband?

Also, I haven't talked to her side of the family because of my wedding, should I talk to them? My husband once asked if they were trying to contact me on Facebook. I lied and said no even though they have sent messages and tried to add me as friends once in a great while. Should I add them as friends on Facebook?

  • Feeding a 10 month old suggestions?

My 10 month old is 30 inches and 21 pounds. He is very active and almost walking. He drinks 40oz per day of formula. I read he should only have 20-25oz at this age. His last check-up was a month ago and the doctor said he should slow down on the formula but did not say how or how much. How should I cut down his formula? Also, should I be pushing to wean him off the bottle and onto a cup?

Also, he eats sweet foods like pureed fruit mixed with oatmeal and yogurt. He only eats 2-3 spoons of meat and vegetables before refusing it. How can I get him to eat more meat and vegetables?

He does eat finger foods sometimes but not as much as I think he should. He refuses to sit in his highchair so I put the finger foods on a plate on the floor. He takes 2 bites, then goes off to play again. Should I be pushing the finger foods more? And if yes, how?

  • Microsoft Office 2007 Looks Old Fashion?

On one of my computers, Microsoft Office 2007 looks old fashion. I put a link to a picture below. All the office programs look like this. The rest of my computer looks fine. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the program but that did not fix it. Please tell me where the "non old school" button is to make the program look normal.

  • Cutting apples before making caramel apples?

I was thinking of cutting the apples before dipping them into caramel. I wanted to make them more like finger foods instead of whole apples since I think they will be easier to eat at a party. Do you think it will work? Will the apple go bad? Please help, I dont want to screw it up. Thanks!

  • I can't copy a picture to windows clipboard.?

I am able to do this on all the other computers in our office except for the person who needs it the most. I am trying to copy a document from Adobe by clicking "Select All" and then "Copy" This copies the image as a picture on to the clipboard. Then I go into Microsoft Word (Paint works too) and click "Paste" and the image appears. On her computer, it just shows the Adobe icon instead. I am guessing there is a setting I have to change but as you can tell, I am not a genius with computers. She does have Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 if this makes a difference. Please help. Thanks!

  • Should I talk to my grandma again?

To make a long story short, my very horrible mother (her daughter) talked my grandma into not coming to my wedding. She didn't call to cancel or anything. I have been really upset with her because my grandma has been known to never miss a wedding. She will even cut a vacation short just to attend a wedding to someone she doesn't even know. It's been 2 years now and at every holiday she sends cards saying stuff like "I miss you, call me." So should I give her another chance and call her or let her go? Thanks for hearing my sob story!

Should I try another new brand or just stick with Friskes? Thanks!

  • I am planning to buy a new car. Which would you recommend?

I am down to 3 cars, the Honda Civic (my highest choice so far), Nissan Sentra, or Toyota Corolla. All 2007 models and probably the luxury editions. (Not the sport but not the bottom end either) Thanks!

  • What are some safe "people food" my cat can eat?

My cat loves to lick everything you have on your plate or drink. (Basicly acts like a dog when you are getting food.) What are some safe foods to let her have at it? What are some foods we should make sure she avoids?

  • New Cat Advice?

My husband really wants a cat and I am fine with getting one, the only problem is I have never had a cat or dog before. (Said to say, I know) So I want to surprise him and get it for him but I don't know where to go. Is it better to pay for one from the pet store adoption days? Can I get one free? What other supplies will I need to buy? I am also worried about problems like shedding hair all over the place and scratching up the furniture. How do I avoid problems like that? How do you potty train your cat?

All advise is very much appreciate. Thanks!

  • Do I have to give my dad a gift for each holiday?

My dad is getting married, turning 50 years old, and father's day is coming up all within a week of each other. I love him to death and if I had all the money in the world, I would do something huge for each celebration. Problem is he is getting married out of town and I am already pinching pennies just so that I can be there. I live on my own and am really poor so I wont have any money left over. Is it ok for me to not give him a gift? I could put money on my credit cards but I am already too much into debt and trying to climb my way out.

  • Women do all the work?

In my marriage, both of us work full time. When we get home for the day, he gets to watch tv or computer and I am still cleaning, cooking, finances, shopping, etc. Is this normal? We don't have any kids yet and I am already exhausted by the end of the day. I am almost afraid to add kids into the picture and run my self ragged. Is this normal? If yes, how do you women do it? If not, how do I get my husband to do more?

  • Why do Indians drink diet instead of regular coke?

I have been the secretary for a rich Indian family for about a year now. They all drink diet coke. Even their friends and business partners. Is there some kind of culture thing against regular coke? I have nothing against it since I too prefer diet, I am more curious but don't want to be rude and ask them directly. Thanks!
