  • How would you pronounce the name Liem?

We're trying to choose a name for our unborn son. We like the name Liam, but was curious how the public would truely pronounce the name if it was spelled Liem.

  • Can anyone identify these insects?

We have had an explosion of these insects in our front yard. They are in the grass, trees, bushes, and plants. They are 1-2 cm long and are red and black. Here is a link to view a picture of them:

Can anyone identify these insects? And if so, how do I get rid of them without spraying tons of toxins in my front yard?

  • 39 WKS, 0 CM DILATTED, 50% EFFACED. THIS IS AN IVF PREGNANCY and DO NOT WANT INDUCTION.?

My doc will only let me go 41 wks until he wants to induce. I was very disappointed to hear I hadn't dilated yet and my midwife was not so hopeful for me as well. She said that the baby was coming late and that we would probably need to be induced. I also have strep B, so stripping of my cervix is not an option to help move things along. I'm not feeling any symptoms such as menstrual-like cramps. Only sharp pains in my pelvis a few times a day when he moves around. We've been having sex every other day, I've been walking for 30 min a day, and have been taking evening primrose oil. Any other suggestions out there on what we can do to avoid PITOCIN? Or is my OB group jumping the gun and trying to induce me out of their own convenience?

  • 39 wks pregnant, 50% effaced, 0cm dilated. My midwife says I'm a candidate for induction. Is she right?

I was hoping to avoid an induction. One of my midwives said that since I hadn't dilated yet, that our son was going to come late and that we would need induction. I'm due Jan 5th and my doctor will only let us go one week after that. She also gave me the guilt trip that why would we place our son at risk by going past the due date w/out an induction. Any experiences out there with being only 50% effaced and 0cm dilated at 39 weeks?
