  • IB Physics IA Help!?

Hello I decided to conduct an experiment to investigate the lift of a toy helicopter for my Physics practical, and I am kind of stuck, does anyone have any ideas on which procedures do I have to take to measure all the necessary factors such as lift force, speed of rotor, air density etc. and I'd also be extremely grateful for suggestions on formulas which I could use.

Thank you in advance, I will appreciate any help.

  • Relationship advice! Can’t get over my fiancé smoking in the past?

Guys help I can’t get over this issue I’ve been going crazy for over a month now! I found out that my fiancé had smoked shisha two or three times in the past, she’s a few years older than me(24), but she is this perfect girl who’s never even kissed a guy before or dated anyone, never got drunk or anything. I know her well (families are really close) so I don’t doubt her it’s just the fact that she had smoked and I never expected this from her. She said she didn’t like smoking but liked the fruit flavored scent of it, I’ve never smoked anything before not even shisha, and I’m strongly against it! She didn’t smoke for more than a year now (she made the decision to stop a long time ago) and swore she’ll never do it again, but I’m still worried because right now I’m living in a different country. Please help me handle this maturely and calmly, I don’t want to be mad because I really love her and she loves me more than anything, I know this isn’t an issue to break up over (especially because it’s in the past and happened only a few times).

I’ll be very grateful on suggestions how to deal with this issue.

  • Are there any airline sponsored Cadet Programs (in any country) for international students?

I would like to become a pilot and receive job placement in an airline directly after completing the pilot training, however some of the academies which I've visited cost about $150,000 for the cadet program, which is too expensive. I was wondering if there any other ways to become an airline pilot without paying a fortune or joining the air force. Do airline sponsored cadet programs still exist? Are there any ways to receive a scholarship or an individual sponsorship from an airline (I have excellent grades, many achievements in academics and sports)?

Commercial Pilots please explain how you've built your career in aviation.

    Thanks in advance

  • Is 16 too late to start competing in boxing? Did any successful boxers start after 16?

I m 16 and I want to start boxing. I am very athletic and compete professionally in Judo and Jiu Jitsu, I have had 8 MMA weights, winning 7 of them. I still participate in athletics and long distance running which is quite important for boxing. I fought twice in kickboxing and won both fights with TKO and KO, I also had two amateur boxing fights (smokers) not sanctioned and I won them as well with TKOs.

I am not exactly new to boxing because I had been practicing for a while but not as seriously as I focus on Bjj and judo (I m in national team for grappling and in reserve for Judo).

In the past I couldn t compete in boxing due to personal circumstances, and currently I have the opportunity to train and fight.

Dear boxers, what do you suggest? Is it too late for me? Could I still become a successful boxer in the future, because I want to compete professionally.

By the way, I m planning to train with David Haye, if that is of any importance to this question.

  • How to get into the Olympics?

I am a 16 years old judoka, I am quite new to competition judo, but I am improving quickly since I have been practicing jiu jitsu, sambo and wrestling for years. I hoped that BJJ would be added to the olympic program in 2016 in Rio, but unfortunately it wasn t, this caused me to focus on more on judo to accomplish my dream of entering the olympics one day. So I would like to find out what can I do to participate in the 2020 or the 2024 Olympic Games, I heard that the world championship is one way to qualify so I am optimistic because I have 4 world championship medals from BJJ (2 gold) and the Judo world championship is next year. If the selection for the olympics depends on the participant s country I ll most probably be representing Russia, although at the moment I live in the UAE. Thank you in advance, if you have any additional helpful information about judo and the olympics, I will be very grateful for your help :)

  • Can someone please help me find this italian song?

So a few years ago I heard a song on the radio a couple of times but the name was never stated. The song started with a guitar and then a man started singing it was fast paced, not like the slow opera italian song, at first the beginning sounded like French to me, but since i speak French I later realized it's italian. I assume the song is famous since it is italian and was played on the RUSSIAN radio, the genre of the song was most probably pop music. I have been searching for a few years now, the song is very catchy although I haven't heard it since 2012!

Please if you know the song or assume that you know anything that fits my description, then please share it.

    Thanks.

  • Question about Kyokushin Karate?

I am 14 years old and I have trained karate for a few years. The place where I live now has no good karate Dojo, all "dojos" around are MacDojos with no kumite at all, where kids get a new obi every month. Now I am training Jiu Jitsu, but I feel that I need to supplement it with a striking stand up style. Since I have trained in karate before I know the basics and I have had kumite fights against Kyokushin 1st Dan black belts and Shotokan 2nd Dan black belts.

So any Budoka or Karateka reading this, I need your advice; should I train Karate alone and perfect the techniques I already now

    OR

Should I join a MacDojo learn new kata, and insist on having kumite?

  • Where can I fight,compete and spar?

I am 14 years old (male) and I always wrestled and had boxing matches with my friends and cousin when I was little, and then I moved to UAE, and people that I know here are only interested in video games and shopping centers, I don't fight to bully nor do I pick fights on streets, I don't hold grudges or anger after the fight even though I broke my nose a few times and split my lip many times in fights, if I challenge my friends they are just too scared, I practice Kung Fu but I really enjoy wrestling(freestyle and graeco roman, also jiu jutsu) but I can't fight people using Kung Fu it is too dangerous so it is not allowed in my Kung Fu school. I even thought of leaving Kung Fu because we don't spar. Can somebody advice me what I should do( no I will not buy a punchbag and won't play UFC on my Playstation) and does anyone know places in UAE where I can fight, compete or spar? I cannot join a gym because I go to a Kung Fu school. Only after 3 months I can leave but I really don't plan on that.and which martial art is good for sparring, self defense, and mma. I thought about aikido but it is not accepted in mma. I am a warrior, most men in my family trained in wrestling and boxing, but here in Sharjah there aren't many places for that.

And if anyone thinks Kung Fu is bullshit it isn't.

I like TMA and MMA but prefer budo over other Asian martial arts

Does anyone know any good gyms for wrestling and boxing in Dubai or sharjah ?

Is Brazilian jiu jutsu better than european wrestling ?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Where can I isolate myself?

I am 14 years old, and I need to be alone for at least 1 week. I need to think about my life, my family,my education, my future, and I will also need to meditate. And I can't be isolated at home, I need to be away from humans. And I live in UAE so does anyone know any places around there if not, that is not necessary I can travel if I will need to.

And please don't give answers like talk to someone, being lonely is not good, you need a psychiatrist...... I need a serious answer, I would isolate myself for a year but I just can't leave school. And don't worry I will not go for permanent isolation, just for a while. And there are too many reasons for me to want to isolate myself. I need a place like a meditation escape or something. Thank you in advance.

  • Which martial art should I choose?

I am a 14 year old male, and I can't choose which martial art to do. I have done karate, but the school was bad they sold new belts every months along with certificates and didn't care about the skills, only the money. Then I was taught some boxing and freestyle wrestling, and I really liked them both, but where I live, there are no places to learn wrestling and boxing. Recently I tried Kung Fu, and again the teacher only cared about selling belts and certificates ( although there are no belts in real Kung Fu). Then I went for jiu jitsu, and I really liked it, but in Brazilian jiu jutsu fighter concentrate on ground fighting and submissions and I don't really like that. I am 170 cm, weighing around 60 kilograms, I am stronger than most of the people I know, and stronger than all of my peers even those who do martial arts. I am quite humbly, but most of the time I care about honor, pride and glory, I like meditating, and I was in a gymnastics team, as well as X-country and swimming and practiced dodge ball. While fighting I have compassion for the opponent, but it depends on the opponent, I can be ruthless and fight to my death but would not like to kill anyone. I know that is similar to Kung Fu philosophy and samurai philosophy but I am more interested in Japan and samurai. I would try Judo but I can't find a place to learn it, I live in Sharjah, so if you know any place I can learn judo from please tell me. So what should I learn karate,Kung Fu, iron buffalo fist Kung Fu, taekwando,BJJ,kick boxing.

Note: I cannot do Krav Maga, and I have/ had osgood schlatters, it have been two years and I think it healed.

  • Is it illegal to own a katana in UAE?

I wanted to order a daisho (katana and wakizashi) from amazon, but I was wondering if it is illegal. I am not going to take it outside of my house, I would just keep it as decoration. In my building there is a gym and I saw a pair of swords there, so is it illegal if it is not sharp?

  • Is it a sin to fight for honor or glory?

If someone insults me or my family's honor is it haram (a sin) to fight? And is challenging people to fight for glory a sin? Not betting on anything just fighting one on one, is it a sin?

  • Why is mother angry at me for loving sports?

I talk about sports sometimes but I don't talk a lot to her, so I asked her if I could change the martial art I am doing now to another one and she just started shouting at me like I started a world war! She says I am careless just because 3 years ago I didn't do something what she asked. There are teenagers who are drug addict, who drink, smoke, play video games a lot and I just like sports and studying, she says I am useless and I should get a job, I searched everywhere for a job but where I live there are no jobs for people under 18 and I am almost 14. she says my hobbies are bad and I won't be successful in anything. Everyone in my family says she shouts too much at me. I try to talk but she never listens, what should I do? When I asked her about going to a different martial art she said no, I asked her why and what is the difference, she answered you won't go to any. I asked her why, and she said just because I said no, means no, now shut up and go to your room, I tell her I have nothing else to do and she just says clean your room, or do nothing at all, and when I clean my room she tells me, you useless sh*t you can't even do this right. She always seems angry when I talk, and when I ask her she just shouts without explaining why. So what should I do? I don't want stupid answers like call children protection or any of that ****. I want a serious answer that will help me speak to her. Thanks in advance

  • Can you get STDs from your parents by sharing a razor?

Ok so, I have a problem, I am 14 years old, and I started to shave I was. I still didn't get my own razor, and I can't tell my parents yet. So I used my mom's razor. I was scared to use my dad's razor because I didn't find any shaving cream and my mom's razor has some slippery stuff on top and bottom of it, so I thought that would do. I washed the razor, and my private place and the parts above it, I washed it twice at the beginning and many times during the process of shaving. Then I saw some small drops of blood coming from me, they were so small that when I washed of the blood I couldn't see the source of it, but it was my blood, later it was harder to shave so I applied some baby oil, and shaved it smooth. Before I shaved I cut my hair with scissors. After I finished I washed again, and washed the razor.I dried my private part, and then applied some cream that kills germs and stops disease and stuff, that wasn't anything bad the cream is good quality and is often used for babies. So could I get STDs? Me and my mother have the same blood group, she doesn't shave her private places with that razor, only her legs and maybe hands. She doesn't have any diseases she only slept with my father, so if we have same blood group( my dad also has the same blood group as us) does it mean our blood is almost the same and I cant get STDs from them?

I am 14 years old and I was thinking of joining The Russian Armed Forces. My parents are against it,they want me to be an engineer or a businessman. But my uncle and grandmother are agreeing with me. Most of my ancestors were in the Russian and Soviet army, but the problem is that I am not russian, I am north caucasian and muslim but I am loyal to russia and I consider it my homeland, so do you think I should join a military academy after three years or go to a university?
