I have'nt been comming on Y/A for about 5 days due to being ill, but I have just realised that 3 of my new contacts (initiated by them) have dissapeared now from my profile page, could anyone let me know how this could happen if they diddn't delete me themselves, which I don't think they did, because like I said they were the ones that added me and I gladly added them to mine, thats why I'm confussed that they have dissapeared

I changed mine to maisie, I got sick of seeing denise m, I've never really liked my name anyway, and maisie is the name of my new pup....I know...I'm sad....lol

I was just thinking about past Christmas's and pondering on the parties etc,(not that I went to many though) and I had to chuckle about the time I went to a new years eve party and was told everyone HAD to wear fancy dress, so I got me a lovely outfit, I was going as a 1920's Flapper, it was a very cute dress, I was slim then..... I heard my Son chatting to friends on his phone, the conversation went..."Ye, we've all got our outfits...and guess what, my Mum is going as a SLAPPER" ..... omg.... I nearly died laughing......after a very speedy explanation to my Son

So, my question is, have you experienced someone misunderstand what word you used that turned out to funny

Store dry food for? I would like to buy larger bags of food for my 2 little dogs, but I am concerned it will deteriorate and loose its goodness, I would be storing it in a container specially made for this purpose, I have emailed the food manufacturer but I have'nt recieved a reply yet, but I would like to know as soon as possible as I want to order the large bag if it ok to do so

It happend to me as a child, I was about 11 and my parents bought me a bike, now this was unusual for me to get such an extravagent gift for my Birthday which is close to Christmas, but I was over the moon...till I realised it was for my Dads use really,and so after a couple of weeks of getting MY new bike my Dad used it to cycle to the coal mines where he worked.... I was upset at first..... The crafty monkey him!!!!

But we all used to have a good laugh over that one years down the line......

Do Meditation, I'm not just talking about "zen monk" type of meditation, just the sort of quiet time, closing eyes and let your mind relax and take you to where it wants too, I have found it really helps to do this, it gives the mind a break and is so relaxing, but the most wonderful thing happened to me in one of my little session's in that I must have gone a little deeper than usual because I found myself on a beautiful beach, I sat at the waters edge listening to the waves, and then out of knowhere came this stunning white Lippizaner Horse, cantering in slow motion along the shoreline, it took my breath away, he stopped near to me, I threw my arms around his neck, and knelt down so I could get on his back, he just gently walked the waters edge, I was in heaven......it came time for him to go, I put my arms around him again and it felt like he was telling me he would come back......I opened my eyes from this meditation and I was sobbing with sheer delight......it was so good

All the petiness thats comming from "other" sources.... I know it sounds like I am over reacting....but, when I first came across the Senior section it was when I was just about to stop comming on Y/A altogether because I was sick of encountering a lot of stupid and sick individuals, I got to realise I just did not want to be subjected to that sort of thing, I firmly believe being involved in so much negativity is so bad for anyone, so I was'nt going to put up with it no longer....and like I said, I found the Seniors, I was so pleased, because there was so many lovely people on this..... but now all the patheticness of other users comming over and aiming their childish spite has spoilt it....our life can be stressful enough with all the things we have to deal with in our Day to Day life without adding to it by comming on here to put up with more....I am a very sensitive person, can't help it, it's the way I am, I hate being misunderstood, and that happens on here with just .........

I have come across a question that has got 28 pages with 818 replies, the first person that answered got 74 thumbs up and 74 down, it was posted 3 wks ago and is still OPEN....lol

I was gobsmacked, it made me smile because.....you would think it was going to be such a profound question would'nt you,... the question was..............

After rereading Diamond's question about "Receptionist's", It got me thinking about the word "Patient"...do you think that word was chosen by whoever to deliberately try to instill in to our minds thats how we should be....lets face it, how many of us certainly feel IMPATIENT when we visit Doctors, Dentists etc.....wonder how many other words out there that means the total opposite.......

A word or phrase that is a term of affection where you come from....I did many years ago when on my first visit to meet my boyfriends family for the first time in Dorset, he had the cutest little sister, I said to her "hello my little duck"....duck is a very much used word where I come from amongst friends...she was only 4 and ran crying to her Mum saying "she just called me a duck" and felt insulted...I didn't make a good impression on her LOL

I can't eat meat from animals that are cute..... especially Lamb..I used to eat it years ago, but on a wonderful 1,200 mile tour of Scotland 7yrs ago I saw nothing but beautiful little lambs ambling along with their mothers, can't bare thoughts of eating it now...Aaaghhh, and Venison...who on earth could eat Bambi !! it makes me shudder... Rabbit, No No...way too cute.....I have no problem eating Pig, Cow, Chicken, and yet even those are cute when babies.... strange isn't it

I have always loved the thought of living in Canada, when I was first married to my late husband 39 yrs ago, we came close to moving there, but my husband changed his mind, I was so disapointed, I know were not to dwell on "what if's" but I can't help wondering if I would have had a better life out there....even if it would have been only the fact snow was guarenteed on Christmas Day...I love Christmas too...lol

I have my 13 wk old Shih Tzu puppy for 2wks now and she does the strangest thing... when she wants to do a poop she runs along the boundry wall then literally STANDS UP against the wall to poop...I've never seen anything like it, it is so funny to see, but I am begining to wonder, is she ok? has any one else had a dog that does there business in strange ways
