Can I deduct my health insurance premiums?
My employer pays for my health insurance, but it does not pay for spouse/dependent insurance. My husband and I decided to add our son to my policy. The way my employer does this is it pays the total premium for me and my son, and then I reimburse my employer for the cost associated with my son's coverage. So the check I write out for our son's coverage uses after-tax dollars and is made out to my employer, not to the health insurance company. Will we be able to deduct the amount corresponding with the cost of our son's coverage on our taxes? Or does writing the check made payable to my employer prevent us from being able to deduct the expense?
7 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoWhat is going on? Is there a chance I'm pregnant?
My husband and I have been ttc for a few months. My last AF was on September 10th, but I have irregular cycles averaging about 35 days. (My normal before going on the pill was 32 days, and my body is probably still adjusting to coming off the pill. The Sept. 10th cycle was my third since coming off the pill)
So I spotted on October 10th and 11th, which was about when I expected it, though a little later, but I think that I just skipped that period due to dealing with the stress of my mom having surgery the next week. Now the surgery is over and things are normal. I've spotted again on October 30th and 31st (5 drops tops). My husband and I BD on the 18th, 26th and 29th. Still no period. The tests have been negative.
What is different with this spotting than the first spotting (aside from there being an absence of stress), is that coinciding with the most recent spotting I had a serious bout of chills and body aches hit from out of nowhere (even though the glands in my neck were not swollen as they get with colds), combined with extreme sensitivity to the smell of spicy food to the point that I literally almost hurled when my co-worker walked by with her lunch. I also was so exhausted that I couldn't even concentrate on simple data entry and thought it might not be safe to drive home that day. I did, and went straight to bed at about 6:30 pm! I couldn't eat without feeling sick to my stomach, though I did manage some oj and saltine crackers (thanks ladies, to those who recommended the saltines!). The thing is, though, that the aches and chills ended the next day. I've been tired, though not as bad as that day. My abdomen has been sore since then, but nothing has happened since the five drops of spotting.
So what do you think? I hadn't been keeping track of anything more than when the AF starts and when we BD (which I do since my cycles are irregular) Honestly, after helping with my mom's surgery, I hadn't really put any thought into ttc and was just waiting for AF to start again. We figured since my cycles are irregular, might as well have fun while waiting for it!
1 AnswerTrying to Conceive1 decade agoCould I be pregnant? What do you think?
My last period began September 10th. I have longer cycles on average, but I was expecting it to begin this past Sunday. Two days before I had some very light spotting, but nothing else since. I've had mild cramping fairly steadily for about two weeks now, accompanied by bloating and mild nausea off and on. Mild headaches also have been around for a while. However I haven't noticed any breast swelling and the hpt tests ive taken have all come back negative. Any ideas?

I have had three cycles since coming off the pill at the end of May. They last on average about 35 days (two at 39, one at 28), though before starting the pill ten years ago, the average was about 32 days. My husband and I just started ttc in September. My last cycle was Sept. 10th. We did the BD on Sept. 28, 29, and 30, and again on Oct. 5. Today is day 32, and still no AF. As far as symptoms, I have started having occasional queeziness, but the bloating and gas has been constant for at least the last week and a half or so. There was a stretch of mild headaches over the last week, but they have toned down. Around Sept. 29th or 30th I had cramping, menstrual like pain begin which lasted until about mid-last week, and then started up again on this past Saturday. I don't "feel" pregnant, but what's surprising me right now is that my breasts/nipples are not sensitive at all, which is odd for me. I haven't been too fatigued, though I did have to nap yesterday afternoon, which is something I hardly ever do. As for urination, yesterday I probably had to go every two hours or so, but I don't know how that compares to what people say about having to go "a lot".
What do people think about this? Could my husband and I have conceived? I don't want to get my hopes up, especially since we've just started trying. But my body is confusing me right now. Thoughts?
1 AnswerTrying to Conceive1 decade agoDealing with inlaws before pregnancy?
My husband and I have been married for about a year and a half, and his parents have already started bringing up our starting a family every time we get together with them. This last time, every comment out of my father-in-law's mouth was searching for an answer on whether we were trying or if not, when we were planning to start. I finally held my hand up to stop him and said we would start having a family when we were ready. That was the last he said that time. We haven't gotten together since then, so I don't know if that was enough to stop the prying. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice as to how they dealt with this? Any help is appreciated.
8 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoPossible early symptoms? Advice please!?
The last day of my period was Jan. 12. Since then I have felt like my period was getting ready to start again because of continued abdominal cramping. I've also been constipated since Jan. 18 and experienced a few days of tension headaches around Jan. 16-18. On the 17th and 18th, I was extremely tired and slept for close to 10 hours each night. Does this mean anything, or is my mind just playing tricks?
