  • How can i safely mod an old radio into a guitar amp?

I picked up an old 70's radio/cassette player at the thrift store, and I want to jack my guitar into it, preferably where I can get a tolerable distortion at higher volumes. Inside I have located a radio volume pot and a separate pot for the detachable cassette recorder labeled "power speaker volume". The cassette recorder connection looks like three 1/8" headphone jacks and one 3.5mm micro headphone jack in a row.

I'm pretty sure I could solder my 1/4" jack leads onto either volume pot, however I am not %100 sure this is safe to do in an older radio without a grounded plug. Is there a safe way to do so? I don't know if the power supply is isolated. Or can I take apart the cassette connector and plug in through there?

  • a subpoena went to my last address, am I properly served?

My landlord is apparently attempting to take me to small claims court, and sent a subpoena to appear to my last known address, my parent's house. They (my parents) sent it back to the court as I no longer live there. Do I have to go to court? How can I find out when the court appearance is? I don't have any information about the case, court date, amount, etc. because they just opened it, stuffed in a letter saying I know longer live there, and sent it back. I live in shawnee county, Kansas

  • How should I repair a cement bathroom floor?

I am attempting to refinish a bathroom in a storefront I am renovating. I pulled up the cheap vinyl tile to reveal backer board, which was supported by shims over a sunken concrete slab. To make matters worse, the concrete around the toilet flange had been chipped away, leaving a 2'x2' hole into the crawlspace below. Any thoughts on the best way to tackle this mess? this doesn't have to be pretty, just stable. I will be using vinyl tile in the bathroom.

  • Can I use self leveling concrete to fill in a gap over tiles?

I am laying some tile in a storefront I am currently remodeling. I have removed a layer of linoleum and underneath I found a hex tile layer that is almost intact except for a 4' x 4' area in one corner that has been chipped away, exposing another layer of hex tile beneath. What is the best way to fill this in without cracking/buckling problems? Will self leveling concrete work?
