Unrelenting Atheist
Christians, why would God do this?
Why would God make it to where just because Adam and Eve sinned that the rest of the human race born after them would also be guilty of Original Sin? That doesn't seem fair at all. Why should we have to be cursed because of someone else's doing?
Good thing it's all hog wash anyway...
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoImmortality for the Atheist?
How do you deal with death, and the will to live indefinitely? Sure, we can't actually be immortal, but is there some imperfect form of immortality or indefinite life that naturalists and atheists can take comfort in?
I suspect that the desire for immortality is the only reason Christians and other theists want to believe in god.

Why is it a virtue to believe it something without evidence?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoA Question for Atheists?
When I was a Christian, I remember going to services and seeing people all around me "touched by the holy spirit" and "inspired by god" and stuff like that. Even though I tried hard to understand what they were talking about and experience it myself, I was never able to.
As an atheist now, when I learn more about this vast universe we inhabit and how amazing it is, I am filled with more awe than I ever was as a theist. In fact, I'm even less scared of death. The concept of heaven AND hell was both confusing and frightening to me. Now I'm happy with the fact I'll live till an old age on Earth thanks to medical technology and when I die I'll live on through my actions and influences on others. Not only that, but I take comfort in the fact that one day I will be reabsorbed into nature.
What about you? Do you feel more fulfilled, both intellectually and philosophically now that you don't believe in god?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAtheists, What is your Purpose in Life?
I think most Christians are afraid of becoming atheists because they think they'll "lack purpose". That was certainly one of the things that held me back for a long time.
So let's get a thread started about how you came to form your own worldview and purpose once you dropped your belief in the imaginary god.
For me personally, I found a purpose in making this world as good as I can for others and helping people in need when they need it. That's why I became a paramedic, in fact. So, in a sense, many lives have been saved because I became an atheist.
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoSpiritually Speaking, is the War in Afghanistan Justifiable?
From an atheist and/or theist standpoint, and considering all the reasons politicians give for continuing the war, what do you think?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSpiritually speaking, what does this mean?
to you?
What comes to mind when you see or hear the word "9mm"
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo you think immortality...?
Do you think immortality is possible? Physical immortality I mean. This "mind uploading" to a computer seems feasible, what do you think?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do churches need money?
I see these giant churches all the time build out of fine and expensive building materials and having ridiculous amenities like swimming pools and giant electric signs and stuff, and it makes me wonder; why do they take all that money and waste it on that?
Think about it, they say its only important to worship god, then why do they feel the need to have big elaborate churches when the money could go towards causes Christians are SUPPOSED to help like ending world hunger? Sure there are Christian charities that give, but come on, they put so much unnecessary money into a building and say it doesn't matter where you worship or how nice it is. They say give to your neighbor and help the poor yet they put millions of dollars into unneeded amenities?
I'm an atheist by the way, I'm just observing the situation.
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo Buddhists believe in the supernatural?
I've heard it isn't necessary to believe in a god to be Buddhist. But do Buddhists necessarily believe in the supernatural?
Do they have a view on immortality? What?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agospiritually speaking about basterds?
What do you think of the movie "Inglorious Basterds" (yes its meant to be spelled "basterds")
Spiritually speaking, of course.
I liked seeing Nazis brutally murdered. In WW2 Hitler had my grandparents killed and most of my family. The nothing I hate more than a Nazi.

25 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians, why do you have faith?
Belief in the unproven is very foolish and dangerous.

What do you think about Obama sending 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan?
I think we need to pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan and spend all that money on building up our defenses so we don't have another 9/11.
Spiritually speaking, of course.

And do you think Russia will return to Communism in the future?
Spiritually speaking, of course.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agogod supports slavery?
Why does the christian god support slavery in the Bible?
"Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)"
"However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)"
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAtheists, if atheism was outlawed?
What religion would you pretend to be?
I think I'd be a Buddhist or Scientific Pantheist, they don't necessarily believe in gods but its still a religion.
42 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians, how has god helped you?
I hear Christians say all the time that god found them a good parking space, or god got them a good job, or god made them meet the right man/woman.
How has your god helped you?
Now, why would your god bother to help you with anything while there are small starving children in Africa?
Please answer both questions.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo you people think this is bad?
This is actually a serious question this time, I'm not just making fun of religion. This is just out of pure curiosity. For the record, I'm an atheist.
I fought in the Iraq war 2 years ago. (I know its just a puppet war started by bush and has no good meaning but I needed the job). Me and my brother had to kill people, and I think I had 7 confirmed kills, my brother I believe had 8.
Do you think killing in war is wrong?
