  • My BG-E3 Battery Grip - which way to twist knob?

I know, stupid question, but I just got this new battery grip and I am at work right now and I cant get it off!! I'm not that strong, but it wont budge. Before I possibly turn it the wrong way and tighten it more, which way do I twist the knob to release it? And before you just answer left or right, please tell me if it is looking at it in the front or the rear.

    Thanks!!!!

  • We are still trying to decide on our family vacation? WDW vs Disneyland? Would they know the difference?

So we have been to Disneyland - several times (we have familyi that lives out there) but we are thinking of taking our kids to WDW this year - do you think it's worth it? Would it really be a "different" vacation to them? It will obviously cost a lot more, and I think it would be worth it if it will be a different vacation to them. We are looking at going in October.

  • My good friend's mom died on her birthday last week....gift?

A really good friend of mine's mom died on my friend's birthday. It was actually quite said, she had been a dialysis patient for 12 years and always joked that she would die on Penny's birthday and leave her everything for her birthday. Well, it really happened, no joke. My friend is really taking it quite well, as she has taken care of her mom this whole time and knew this was coming. Her mom had decided to go on hospice at the beginning of the month after finding out she would need a new fistula and heart valve. I am very close to both Penny and her mom, so obviously I didn't bring anything to Penny for her birthday when I came the day her mom died. She is gone the rest of this week, but I still would like to get her something for her birthday. Any ideas, giving the unique situation?

  • My daughter turns 9 this weekend and we are going to do a girls day out with grandma (my mom) and her and I...?

So far, I bought her a real fancy dress and we are taking her to see Phantom of the Opera (she loves the opera) and to dinner, but we have all morning/afternoon and I need ideas of girly fun things to do with her to make it all about her. She is the oldest out of 4 and it's time she really get some one on one attention because she is always so good and helpful with everything. She is a wonderful sister and daughter and I want to show her my appreciation. So grandma, me and her are going to have a girls day out. Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Oh, she is definately a girly girl, but athletic too (she's a gymnast, plays soccer and swims.)

  • Child Support Question?

Ok, I am married. I have 1 child from a previous marriage, to which her father has not been in the picture since she was born and i have sole custody of her. My husband has 3 kids from a prior marriage as well, but we have them 4 days a week, and her 3 days a week. We take full financial responsibility for all of the kids' needs (school, doc, insurance, extracurricular activities, clothes, etc) She still gets child support though because my husband makes quite a bit more than her. Every Feb they have to submit financial information for the child support to be revisited. I am wondering, on the child support worksheet it states "minus legal responsibility for children not of this marriage/relationship" Can he count my daughter here? Him and I are 100% financially responsible for her, he has her on his insurance and claims her as a dependent on his taxes. He is planning on adopting her at some point too (when we have the extra money.) Would she still be considered a legal responsibility since she is not actually blood?

  • Groomsman problem?

I am getting married May 31 and we have been planning this wedding for over a year. Well, my future brother in law, who happens to be a groomsmen, got in trouble AGAIN for drinking and smoking pot. Well he got sentenced last week and he got house arrest this time. The tuxes are already paid for etc. Is there ANYTHING we can do to get the judge to add a weekend to the end of his sentence and let him have this one off or something? Also, my mom is a detention office in the county we are getting married in.....would they be willing to work with that county for the weekend?

  • A Hot Pink dresser??

Ok, so we just got a huge new house. It is a rental though, and it has a light brown carpet, that I can do nothing about. It also has white walls, which I cannot paint. My two 8 year old girls want to do their room in pink and black. They have a black bunkbed and my mom made them these VERY CUTE hot pink fuzzy bed spreads with black ribbon that goes across them and black and pink pillows. I am planning on getting a hot pink rug eventually. We just bought them an unfinished dresser (the long kind that have three drawers on each side) that I want to paint. What do you guys think about this? Painting the dresser hot pink, doing a decoupage in hot pink, black and white (different designs, words, fabric, etc) on the front of the drawers and having black "crystal" looking knobs. Do you think that would be too much? Or do you think that would look cute? I am not an interior decorator and do not have the "vision" but I am crafty and can make this dresser cute.

  • What to do?

So, I am not having a normal reception. We are having a dinner at a very elegant wedding, but there will be no dancing or DJ or anything like that. There will obviously be mingling, but do you think this is going to cause any kind of problem with people getting bored or anything? Or do you think people will mingle together enough? Most of us will be going to the pub down the street after the dinner.

So we are getting married on the lake and then the "reception" will be at a lodge on the river/rapids (dinner only)

    Will this still be ok?

  • A song to be sung at my ceremony?

One of my bridesmaids and my brother will be singing a song during the ceremony. We were thinking "All that I ask" on the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack, but I am just not sure. I like "Imagine" by John Lennon, but its not really a song about marriage. What do you guys think? Help! :)
