  • How do I get a girlfriend/talk to girls?

I know I sound kinda desperate, but I do not know how to talk to girls. I'm a bit ashamed to admit that I'm 18 and never had a girlfriend before. I think I could keep a relationship going and be a good boyfriend to a girl, but it's just that first step that I can't seem to grasp.

I don't know how girls think, I don't know how to keep a conversation going with a girl, I simply do not know how to talk to girls, and I'm really shy. So, can someone please give me some tips?

  • I have low self-confidence. How should I fix this?

I'm not looking for sympathetic answers, I just have a problem with self esteem/self confidence. So, here's some information about me:

I'm an 18 year old guy, and I don't think very highly of myself. I don't know how to play any sports, I'm not that smart, I don't have a lot of friends, and nobody seems to respect me. I know I shouldn't rely on complete strangers to help me out with stuff like this, but I need other people to help me other than my parents because my parents are both psychotic and they'll just freak out and make everything worse. So, if you guys could give me some help with my problems, then that would be great.

PS: I'm not suicidal. I don't believe in that sh!t. That's why I'm asking this question.

  • So.. Who would you room with out of these two possible roommates?

Okay, so my roommate doesn't have a job, and he hasn't tried hard enough to find one. He's had 2 months to find a job and since he failed to attend his welfare meetings, his welfare is cut off. So now he's got no money and finding a job is going to be pretty tough for him. Plus he's got a criminal record and his girlfriend might be pregnant.

So I MIGHT be kicking him out.

    Here's the 2nd choice:

This other guy has a jog selling stuff (green stuff you smoke) and makes modest money that way, but doesn't have a criminal record and will probably find a job easier. But he's still in school for the next two months. But at the same time, he's more motivated than my current roommate.

But unlike the current roommate, he smokes Tobacco.

So, I'm in a bit of a conundrum. Should I give my current roommate another chance (for the 3rd time) or shold I take a risk with this new guy.

What would you do in my situation?

I'm re-asking this because I didn't get a lot of answers the first time

  • Wouldn't it be awesome if dogs drove cars?

Think about it. How cool would it be to be able to say, "My dog Scruffy drove me to work today!"

They were trained to pull a sled, they've been trained to be seeing eye dogs, but I think by the year 2053, cars will be driven by dogs.

    Anyone else agree with me?

  • So what's this Libya War about?

Okay, I've been sick for a couple of days and I hear that we're invading Libya. I know about Qaddafi and what he's done to his people, but is this a full blown war, if so, how long will it last and what will be the outcome? Is Qaddafi gonna round up troops from other countries and try to beat us? What can you tell me about this war?

  • What are shrooms like?

You know, mushrooms? I'm thinking about trying them, but I want to know what to expect. is it like marijuana? I like weed, so will I like shrooms? Or are shrooms like Cocaine and ecstasy. If they are, I'm not going to do them because I most certainly do not like the sound of trying cocaine or ecstasy. Can anyone give me some info and/or share some experiences?

  • Why is the letter Z associated with sleep?

you know how when a cartoon person is sleeping, there's always z's above them, well, what does this mean? I've never heard anyone say "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" or "zeezeezeezeezee" when they sleep. Why is the letter z associated with sleep? Is it because sleep is the least thing you do in the day, and z is the last letter in the alphabet?

  • will I be affected by Japan's nuclear meltdown?

Okay, I live in North Bay, ON, about 350km west of Ottawa, and I hear that the nuclear radiation from Japan will reach Canada. But can it reach this far east? Will I die or be in danger? This sh!t seems pretty real to me.

  • Is it possible to play a PS3 download game on a new PS3?

I have a couple of games that I downloaded onto my PS3, but now I just moved out and my roommate also has a PS3, so I think it's pretty pointless to hook up mine right next to it. So, is there any way I can transfer my download games onto the new PS3? Do I need a USB stick or anything?

  • How can I deal with my neighbour?

Okay, I just moved into an apartment with my friend, and the first night in the new place, we watched a movie at regular volume.

The next day, my neighbour texts the landlord about a noise complaint, so he came in and told us to be more quiet, so we watched TV at a lower volume, but she texted my landlord again, and the same thing happened.

So, by now, we're not watching TV AT ALL, we practically whisper when we talk and guess what? The neighbour texted my landlord, complaining about noise. Now I'm facing the possibility of eviction (getting kicked out).

What can I do about this? I don't want to disturb anyone, but I am certainly not going to live my life like a silent little mouse just because some stupid bit¢h doesn't like noise. It doesn't even seem to matter how much noise we make because she'll just text my landlord again! I think she just hates us in general. What do I do about this?

  • What is a "Grit-Haven"?

I was reading an article on some blog, and the person said,

"There’s no doubt in my mind that he thinks a Liberal MP, even a nice guy like Rota, will never wrestle extra money from a Conservative minority government to help a Grit-haven such as Nipissing-Timiskaming."

    Joe Sinicrope is a person.

Nipissing Timiskaming is a place in Ontario.

    But what is "Grit Haven"?

  • Should I ask this girl out?

This girl at school keeps talking to me and coming onto me. I think she really likes me because she tells me a lot about her personal life and she feels a close connection with me. So, I KNOW she'll say yes if I ask her out.

    PROBLEM:

I don't feel a close connection with her. I feel our friendship or "relationship" is beneath me and that I'm very passive about being her friend. I'm not saying I don't care about her or that I don't like her, I'm just saying that it wouldn't really work FOR ME. It'd work wonders for her, but me? No comment.

Now, before you say "Well don't ask her out then, idiot!" I'm going to say that I feel that this girl is MY ONLY CHANCE of even coming close to being in a relationship. Plus, this is my last year of high school, and she still has one more year left.

So if I never ask her out, that ship will sail and never return to shore, but I've never had a girlfriend before. I feel like someone stuck between a rock and a hard place. I might be able to make it work with her, but I just don't know what to do. Help?
