Nickel-for-your-thoughts
Not by might, not by power, but by spirit says the Lord! Zechariah 4:6
Do you think a focus on temperance would solve a lot of problems?
It seems there is so much knowledge (facts) and not enough virtue - and temperance seems to be greatly lacking. What are your thoughts? How can we have more temperance and what could be the result (benefit)?

“…the surest and truest foundation for affirming the exceptional status of human beings and the moral requirement to treat them in a non-utilitarian way is either implicitly or explicitly theological."

5 AnswersPhilosophy9 years agoTrue self expression, how can one do this? What is the best way?
We are influenced by so many things, how can we truly be ourselves
and express ourselves as artists, inventors, home makers, etc. in

7 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoIn what ways are you free or think you are free?
I am not talking about political freedoms per se, more like
personally in heart/spirit that reflect in actions, as far
as what you know you are capable of that makes you
forever free and justified in life. Please describe, thanks!
What makes a person truly free (we are usually not free in all
areas, we have confusions, doubts and questions,
but what makes the areas free - how is freedom reached)?
7 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoWhy do we all ask why?

7 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoWhat is the difference between passion and obsession?
sort of like eccentric vs. insane in a way or some other
type of comparrison.
I am not really talking about passion as in sexual passion
or obsession in particular - more about passion or obsession about anything, more in general to cover more
meaning.
Thanks!

Can it predict what kind of traits life will have in
a few thousand years and if more species will become asexual, for example?
Can other sciences/theories predict what could be far in the
future and create models via mechanisms better than
evolution can at this point?
1 AnswerBiology1 decade agoDoes love determine value or value determine love or?
are love and value the same thing?
Is love emotion or does it produce emotion?
is love about values, character, decisions and actions
that can greatly improve or greatly deminish?
How is love a building block of society if it is only
thought to be emotion, or is it a building block of
society?
For example, logic tells us to build a sign and
how to build one strong so it stays up, wind or rain.
Logic tells us to build a sign so others can
understand the message we want to convey.
So why convey a message?
Because of what is loved and valued.
So, is love a foundation or is logic a foundation?
Any other examples?
7 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agoProblem with serving logic is that love does not fit the mold of logic but is necessary?
Love determines our values and so does logic and sometimes
they compete.
How do you resolve this?
