  • Good books for parents of autistic kids?

I was just diagnosed as having high-functioning autism and although I am coping fine(I had known for a long time that this diagnosis was coming and having accepted it) my mom still needs some support and help coping. My dad says he's okay but I thinking it would be beneficial for him to read up on it as well, perhaps my brother and sister as well. Any good books for loved ones of people with Asperger's?

  • How to get cat to play with more of his toys?

My cat has plenty of toys but he only plays with one. It's this silly old toy mouse that he is obsessed with. Won't hardly touch anything else. Very frustrating to have all these nice toys collecting dust and annoying when we can't find his toy mouse since he won't play with anything else and I can't replace it at the moment because it was a seasonal item. How can I get him to broaden his horizon a bit and play with something else?

  • Cat thinks to is baby?

My cat acts like his toy is a baby. Sits of it like and egg and carefully repositions it every now and then and licks it. Loves to fetch it too. I've heard of this in female cats but not males. I should note my cat is an intersex male(XXY, has male genitals)

  • Cat constipated?

While cleaning the litter box, my cat hopped in and took a dump. He was grunting and shaking and his body kept on tensing up like he was going to puke. He produced an exceptionally large turd of normal consistency, not particularly soft or large. It was about half a foot long. My cat is pretty big, so he normally has large excrements and pees, but I don't think he should be straining like that to poop. He's a year old, is fed wet food, is a bit overweight, grooms quite a bit, has coughed up only one hairball in his lifetime, and often eats paper.

  • Heat stroke?

I had a bit of a scary situation with my cat today. Our upstairs air conditioner is broken and it is hot as hades up there. My cat was up there because her toys are up there and I can't keep her from going up there if I wanted to because even if I put up a baby gate she'd still be able to slip through the rails and go upstairs. Anyway, she was upstairs and she was panting, very lethargic and breathing hard. I held her in front of a fan and wiped her down with a cool sponge(she was too tired to even be upset about getting wet, which I found worrying because she hates water with a passion) and she was fine. Could she have had heatstroke?

  • Any info on male calico cats?

I have a male calico named Dean who I love to pieces. I know all about how his coloring is possible and all about the chromosomes and stuff but I have been unable to find much information on what health problems he may face as the result of his mutation. Can anyone provide information on that please? Other than being abnormally big for his age he has been fairly healthy and seems to be of normal intelligence.

  • How frequently should I bathe my cat?

My kitten doesn't really groom herself that well, just gives her self a few licks and that's it, which really doesn't cut it(she stinks). How often should I bathe her? I know too often could dry her skin out.

  • Should I still listen to Metallica?

I just started getting into them about a week ago, and when I get into something I really get into it. I find their music calming and exiting(depending on the song) but I just found out they are kind of jerks. I don t buy their music, just listen in YouTube so it s not like they are getting any money from me but I still don t know.

  • Is my kitty vomiting blood? Trained vets only!!!?

My 4-month old female tabby just threw up three times. The first time was just partially digested food, the second time was food and orange and red splotches, and the third time was very funny and red-orange. She s just eaten her lunch, which is 1/3 cup of Kitten Chow. I m not sure if it s blood or not because this morning my sister gave one of our dogs some leftover sweet potatoes along with her food and the kitty often steals the dogs food and she could just be puking up sweet potatoes. Still I want to be sure she is okay. I am attempting to contact out vet, who happens to be my brother, and the owner of my kittens mom. Please only trained veterinarians answer, I m need advice from someone I can trust.

  • How to discipline a cat?

I have two four-month-old cats(siblings). They got into the habit of climbing onto tables by jumping from chair to table, and later jumping up once they got older and could jump higher. We developed a practice of pushing in our chairs as to prevent them from having access to the table and squirting them with water. The boy cat has grasped the concept but the girl cat is still jumping up on things and since she doesn t use the chair to get up anymore we can t prevent her. She isn t learning and this scares me because earlier today I caught her about to jump up on the countertop which was beside a hot stovetop. She could have burned herself. Any other ways to discipline her?

  • Good places for pride gear?

I just recently came to terms with being bisexual(its a very long process discovering your sexuality) and I joined a LGBT club at my school and I am looking forward to upcoming pride and awareness events now that I finally know what I am(discovering that takes awhile). The thing is, I don't have any Pride/awareness merchandise. I'd like a place, preferably not online(the models are very distracting, shopping when not straight isn't easy). I'd like something specifically bi pride(which is pink, blue, and purple) but just regular rainbows is also okay. Not something too vulgar or revealing(I want to be able to wear it to school) and something that is clearly LGBT(not just like a necklace with pink, purple and blue, but something with symbols) but not too obvious(I'm not very open about my sexuality yet). Probably a t-shirt. And not too expensive.

I'm sorry if that description seems long and picky, but I like to be specific.

Also, I understand some have opinions on the LGBT community that differ from mine, but please refrain from lecturing me. That is something that is between God and I.

  • Kitten likes to play in the litterbox?

One of our kittens has found another use for the litter box other than going to the bathroom. He kicks the litter around for fun and sometimes brings his toys into the litter box and will play with them in the box. He seems to think its some sort or play pen or sandbox as well as a potty. How to we stop this?

  • How to make kittens like dog?

We just got two kittens and they don't seem to like one of my dogs. The dog in question is not trying to hurt them or pestering them in any way. Just the sight of the dog makes them start hissing. Will they change as they adjust to our home

  • Do I scoop the pee out of the litter box?

We just got two kitties. Only minutes ago one peed in it and his sister followed his lead and did the same. We are overjoyed at this victory but I'm not sure if I am to scoop the pee. Also, we use a clumping litter if that helps.

  • Am I allergic to cats?

While holding my new kitty wherever her claws would accidently get me(she was in need of a nail trim) I would get itchy but it would go away quickly. Never had problems with this.

  • Best way to style partially curly hair?

My hair is straight on top, curly underneath, and curly on the front sides(like where my bangs are). Its short(a little bit past my shoulders, I recently had it cut). The underneath part is loose waves while my bangs are tight curly q's. It gets especially curly when it is clean and the straight part curls very easily(I can put in curlers for 5 minutes and have curls all day). What is the best way to style?

  • Cannot log into Petsmart "Petperks" account?

It will not let me log in. I have tried mulitple times and have carefully typed both my e-mail and password in very carefully as to not make any mistakes. When I click "forgot password?" and put in my email address(once again, I am very careful about making any typos) and it claims no account exists with such that e-mail address. I have looked over what I am typing very carefully and I am almost positive I have made no mistakes. What do I do?

  • Easy ways to get cheetos out of teeth?
