  • Buying a used BMW SUV (high mileage)?

I've found this really great looking compact SUV that I've been looking for. It's a 2005 BMW X3 2.5i listed for $10,998. However, it has 148,307 miles on it. I know this is a very high mileage to purchase a used vehicle however it is a BMW and looks great. Should I actually purchase this vehicle or would I probably end up spending lots of money to fix problems that may arise with such high mileage?

*Also, it appears that the previous owner cared for this vehicle very well because it was SPOTLESS when I went to the dealership to see it in person. Looks brand new inside and out!

Please give me your honest opinions. Thanks.

  • What if I want to wear a Costume ring?

I am about to get engaged soon. What if I want to wear a big costume ring? (You know, the big decorative rings that are sold in stores like Charlotte Russe, and other mall stores..) Could I take my engagement ring off for that day without being disrespectful to my fiance?? Because if I wear both rings it will look tacky. So, what should I do when I want to wear a cute costume ring to match my outfit for the day?

    Thanks! :)

  • Interview went well. What should I do now?

I had my second interview with a company that I currently would love to work for. Interview went very well! The HR Manager said that they would be selecting a final new hire by or before Friday (this week).

However, the HR Manager also said that he would be giving me another "mini telephone interview" and he would get his Assistant to call or email the selected new hire. *Interview was this past Friday and I haven't gotten a call or email yet. Should I be worried? Or am I just being a little anxious? Because I REALLY feel confident that they're going to select me.

Should I contact them or just wait until they contact me again?

    Thanks for your answers!

  • What should I do about this job? Please help.?

What would be the best thing to do if I got hired by a job that I sort of want BUT then a week or so later the job that I REALLY wants decides that they are ready to hire me also?

Would it look bad if I just suddenly quit the other job that got me first? But the other job pays more and is EXACTLY what I want.

  • Majored in Psychology; want to get into Accounting?

In undergrad, I majored in Psychology because I have a natural likeness to want to help people with their problems. I thought I wanted to become a Child Therapist/Psychologist but around my junior year, I realized I no longer wanted to make a career in Psychology. I still love to help people, but I can't really see myself actually becoming a therapist anymore.

I am really interested in Accounting now. I've been looking for entry level Accounting/Auditing jobs, however, but when employers see Psychology on my resume, I'm afraid they'll overlook my application and pick someone who majored in Accounting or Finance. The thing is I'm naturally good at Accounting and Finance and it REALLY interests me but I thought it would be more helpful to help children overcome their problems. Now, I just really want a CAREER in the Accounting field, and still be able to help people in my daily life just being a regular helpful person.

What is the best way to get into the Accounting field if you've majored in something totally different? Please help. Thanks!

  • Why do jobs check credit reports before hiring someone?

Many jobs (especially banks, financial companies, or any job dealing with cash, etc.) are now requiring credit checks before considering to hire a potential candidate. I don't think this is completely fair, as some people just don't have enough financial stability to pay their debts to raise their credit score right away.

For example, I graduated last year and I have Sallie Mae student loans on my credit report as being delinquent because I don't currently have a full time job to pay on my student loans. I also have a few delinquent medical bills which probably totals to approximately $1500 or less. So student loans and medical bills are the only things on my credit report that makes my score drop. My score is around 614 for Experian and 584 for Equifax : (

What kind of job could I get to build my credit score? I'm highly concerned, because as a recent grad, I should be getting into a solid career field now. I currently work part-time at a high end retail store just until I find a better job, but I want a "real" job now. I feel like my credit score is possibly preventing me from getting a decent job.

What should I do? Thanks in advance.

  • What if you buy the wrong shade of (powder) foundation?

Ok so I just went to WalMart and bought CoverGirl Clean pressed powder foundation and it makes me look a little darker. I usually get Loreal's True Match Super Blendable powder but I just wanted to try something new...I opened the CoverGirl makeup : ( Does this mean I can't return or exchange it? I don't want to be embarrassed going back to the store and they don't accept it. Should I just keep it?

    Thanks for your answers!

  • Quick question about front two teeth?

Quick question: Does EVERY child's front two teeth come out at some point during their childhood? My friend claims that his never came out as a child, but I highly doubt it, because every child I know has had their front two teeth to fall out. Is it even possible for a child's front two teeth to NEVER come out????

Thanks for your answers : )

  • How can I protect my startup (ideas) from being stolen?

Ok, so I've created an entire blueprint for a mobile app/website that I'm expecting to be quite popular once launched. At this point, I need experienced programmers/coders to come in to help program the site.

I recently sent emails out to notify programmers in my area that are interested in helping create my startup. I've gotten many responses and they want to help program, however, none of my material is copyrighted or protected in any way which leaves me feeling a bit wary as to discussing details and showing them the blueprint, etc. They want to meet up soon, but I haven't responded to their emails yet because I wanted to research ways to protect my project first.

I know I'll need expert programmers to come into the picture, but how will I know if they won't copy my ideas and start another venture on their own? How can I protect my startup from being stolen?

If I get my blueprint notarized, will that help? Or should I have them to sign a document stating that they agree to not to start on any other projects similar to my startup until it is officially launched? Help me out here.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Which coding language should be used?

    Help me out here please.

Which coding language(s) should be used to create something like as follows:

    A mobile/web app that has

    (1) a live feed like Twitter

    (2) GPS locator check in like Foursquare

    (3) Upload photos and videos

    (4) Create personal profile pages like Facebook

Does it have to be different languages used for each type of feature since they function different? I'm just curious to know. Thanks for your responses!

  • Would it be infringement if.....?

Quick question: Would it be infringement if my team and I created and named a mobile/web app *LivePlacez after someone else has already created a website (which is NOT an app, just a website) *LivePlaces? What if the two sites are nothing alike? Is it safe for us to keep this name because of the spelling?

*LivePlaces and LivePlacez are NOT the actual names. I am merely using them as examples.

Thanks in advance for your responses :)

  • How should I negotiate on getting a vehicle?

I found a very nice Jeep Liberty with pretty cool specs listed for $13,500, which is a great price but I'm wondering should I try to get the dealership to go down a few hundred....what's the lowest price that I could possibly get this vehicle for?

The dealership will get their money upfront, so I think they'd still be satisfied even if I attempt to negotiate. What do you think?

    Thanks in advance.

  • What if you had a great idea for a business already made?

I've came up with a brilliant idea to add on to a business that is already incorporated (just for example, K-Mart, Dillards, JC Penney) ((these are NOT the actual stores I've came up with the idea for, but they are retail)). An idea that will make the business' financial growth expand even larger earning them millions/billions more of gross income.

Is it possible to contact them to see if they are interested in accepting such an idea or are they not allowed to let someone who has nothing to do with the foundation of their business propose such an idea, even if it is a great one?

What do you think? Please be frank and honest. Thanks!

  • Advice on negotiating with car dealerships?

I am planning to purchase a new OR used car (Jeep Patriot to be exact) from 2008-2012 models. Most of my local dealers are selling them for $21-$24,000! I don't see how this is fair or possible, when the jeep.com website says the base NEW 2012 Jeep Patriots start at $15,995.

I was thinking of negotiating with them to lower the price to around $14K-$16K for a used one possibly. If not, I was planning to drive to the nearest city or state to purchase one for the better prices I've seen on Autotrader.com

Can anyone give me any advice pertaining to negotiating with dealerships? Thanks in advance!

  • Inappropriate or not for a meeting?

I am a recent college grad (from undergrad). I am forming my own business with other recent grads and current college students. There will be a large amount of contract and nondisclosure agreement signing taking place before I release trade secret information to my new team.

After each new team member agrees to sign the contracts, I am planning to host a "Release of Trade Secret" ceremony to welcome them into our newly founded company. During some point in this ceremony, I want to have a white candle for each person to light to represent a fresh beginning of being a part of our company. I also want to have an Induction Oath and a Litany of Consecration prepared for us to say.

Do you think it is inappropriate or uncalled for? Feel free to be brutally honest.

I just think it will form some type of bond and give everyone a sense of belonging and encourage us all to perform our best to make our company a success.

  • Work for free?? well sort of..?

    Quick question.

Do you think that other college students will be willing to join me in the process of creating a new social network from scratch IF I guarantee them equity in our soon to be company?

Basically I'm looking for programmers/coders because I don't know how to program in detail, however I HAVE ALREADY designed the entire look and features along with instructions for them to read to know exactly how I want the network to be programmed.

I would be CEO of our company, but I need a team of programmers. Do you think that they would think it is unfair for me to be CEO since I won't be the one programming?? I WILL provide any funds they need for software, etc however.

If I'm wrong, please be honest and tell me because I have the concept of: "The president of Disney World didn't actually BUILD the rides himself, HOWEVER, he had the knowledge of building a team of excellent workers that made his vision come to life."

  • Cost of servers for up to 2 million users?

What is the cost of a good server that will NOT crash to hold up to 2 million users for a social networking site?

The social network will have a few features that require quite a bit of server usage (video chat being the primary energy user).

Could anyone please let me know how much money I need to save to purchase servers for 2 million users?...maybe even 5 million users. Thanks in advance.

  • Can I make my own non-disclosure agreement forms?

Can I make my own non-disclosure agreement forms stating that no one has the legal right to use my information displayed to others outside the meeting?

I am going to present very valuable information and ideas to Angel Investors/VC's, however, I am highly concerned as my idea is NOT protected in any other legal way (e.g. copyright, patent, etc). Therefore, I will be merely presenting my great idea to a room full of rich people that I don't personally know.

There are NO questions about if my project will be successful or not. I'm 99.9% sure that it would make the investors and myself VERY wealthy (Forbes list worthy)...

If I construct a non-disclosure agreement form for them all to sign, would that be viable in court for proof IF a situation occurs where they attempt to use my idea for their own monetary gain against my approval?
